Any cheap (faux?) leather cases that you have experience with? - Streak 5 Accessories

I just got the Dell Streak (craigslist trade - week old Dell Streak for a Nook Color). Really like it! Great all round device (web, media, ereader, etc). Only currently using it as a tablet.
I have only one problem. The case selection is very small, and the leather cases are very expensive.
The only leather cases here that people are recommending are $40-50 dollars or more. The is not the experience I'm used to, since with past phones/devices there have usually been cheap alternatives more in the $25 dollar range (obviously lower quality than a $50 dollar case).
Question: Has anyone had any experience with any of the cheaper alternatives on ebay (or else where) that range from $12 to $25? I've looked around the internet and here for quite a while and have found nothing so far.
I have found a thread about a cheap leather pouch, but this isn't really ideal. I prefer something that is designed for the phone to be used without removal.
Thanks!

Just found this one:

Well, that case at least had one review. I ordered it and should arrive tomorrow. Ill report on build quality.

Received the case and had a few days to use it. It's... ok. The protection is decent. The cut outs for everything are doable, except the camera, the hole is measured pretty poorly. The phone has to be removed from the case for the camera to be used. The cut out for the screen is almost fine, with it cutting off the bottom of the screen slightly if pushed firmly in, but the phone can be shifted ever so slightly up, while still remaining snug in the case. The kickstand works, but when tucked in makes the phone tilt up when laid flat on it's back (the opposite way you want it to tilt a little if there is going to be any tilting).\
So, the case is "ok", and would be fine for an ebay case that cost 8-10 bucks. But for $25 it's not worth it, and it makes more sense to spend $20 more dollars and get one of the really good leather cases... which is what I'm doing. I'm returning it and have a tuff luv case on the way.

Sorry to waste your time.
I'm thinking about getting this leather case or just otterbox case. Probably I'll choose otterbox now.

No worries! It was a good try.

I have this one and it works pretty well.

Metalic Aluminium Case, Any good??

There are plenty of seller selling this type of Aluminium case, just would like to know if anyone had tried it out, and if its any good, thanks!!
Here is the link, http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=x7500+metal+case&category0=
I have bought a leather case which I liked the build and quality, but the magnetic keyboard flap wont 'Attract' my keyboard, instead, it 'rejects' my keyboard! which I quess they sticthed the magnetic meterial on the 'wrong side', rendering my case unusable with my keyboard.
So if anyone tried these metalic case b4, please advise if they are any good, and most importantly, will it 'rejects' my keyboard??!!
Thanks in advance!!

Purchased my phone with one, the only fault i've seen with it is that it doesn't have a belt clip and the closed display screen sometimes gets out of alignment with the magnet of the keyboard. It's to each their own, because the same 9.99 leather case with display screen works fine for me. Except for the fact that I had to change the belt clip for a stronger one because the original one broke after 5th day of use. Clips were bought from @T&T store for 5 bux USD. Those metal cases make the phone just a bit too bulky and unable to fit in my pocket so I went with the sub display screen case as my number 1 pick right now.
is the metal case bigger than the one it comes with?

Yes it is and thicker too.
well that sucks
does it at least slip into the pocket easier?
Do you see any noticable loss in signal for GSM? I would think with all that aluminum over the antennas it would block a lot of signal.
G
no change in signal or service, works fine.
anyone have some pictures of their own metal cases?
I got one the other day. Very disappointed. The hinges are made of plastic and gives the case very flimsy cheap look. Just my 2c
yea good case, but i found that my sat nav feature doesn't get as quick of a lock some days depending on weather as when it was in the leather case. subsequently i've gone back to the leather case as yes there is a noticable loss of signal for sat nav, as well as 3g if your not right near a tower

{Q]Where to get Samsung d30 Case

Looking for the d30 Case that Samsung advertised with the Tab launch. I tried ordering it from fommy.com but what they shipped is the Easel Case. Unfortunately after confirming the sku, the Easel Case is all they have, thus sending this back. Anyone have one of these or know where to get one? Here's a link to some photos of it.
http://www.fommy.com/view-full-page...model=Samsung+GALAXY+Tab+GT-P1000&skuno=89875
Again, photos on this site are incorrect. They do not actually have this.
Most uscellular stores carry these.
Thanks, but looks like none in my vicinity. Also not listed on their website. Anywhere else? I'm on the East Coast, USA.
I dont like the case as it partially covers up the 4 main buttons on the bottom. Maybe i got a bad one but to use it properly i am going to have to do a bit of modding to it.
The cases we received in Norway (official Samsung case) are slightly different. There is no leather covering the front of the Tab at all. It is held in with plastic corners that grab the edge of the Tab itself. Very nice and very thin. The back is plastic and the front is leather.

I have the Samsung d30 case, and I'd personally not bother if I was to do it again.
Whilst mine fits ok in the case, when I try to use it as a stand it is pretty useless.
Regards,
Dave

Thanks, that's the leather snap on case. We have that here as well. Originally wanted a full book style case, but am now rethinking it. I picked up a cheap but nice padded pouch that fits the Tab great. Now am thinking to just get a snap on to protect the back like the one you posted. In any case, this new case will carry me over for now. Here are some snaps. Paid $14 at Wally World (Walmart)

Amzer silicone case for nexus 7?

Has anyone bought/used these before, and do they work? I have an s-line tpu case and wondered if its worth it to upgrade to this. -Ara

Amzer is a pretty decent company to buy from, and the skins are somewhat inexpensive. They sent me a few demo items to see if our stores were interested in carrying their Nexus 7 products... The overall fit was pretty snug, the skin seems fairly well made minus the edges which needed a little cleaning up. I didn't have any issues with the skin obstructing any features of the device, and it was easy to slip on and off. Here's a few pictures, hope they help with the decision making:

So just a little more feedback on this silicone skin... I dropped my Nexus 7 while getting out of my Jeep this morning (hands full and in a hurry to get to the office), and the blasted thing landed face down on concrete. If not for this skin I would instead be spending my evening searching for a replacement screen. It's by no means an otterbox, but the fact that it covers around the screen saved it.
Definitely give it two thumbs up!
Amzer silicone case
I got the black one bought at Expansys.com. It feels great, very thick rubber with a leather-like texture, reinforced with the x-shaped, thicker rubber piece in the middle that serves as an outer skeleton and adds extra rigidity. The case wraps around of all of the device without obstructing any holes/ports similarly to an otterbox impact cases. The edges serve the protective purpose. There is nothing wrong with them. They are spaced out more like the protruding edges of balistic cases. I feel confident that if my Nexus falls it will bounce off without any damage due to the case design. I store my Nexus when not in use in the bag inside a Case Logic Eva zippered case for additional screen protection.
We just reviewed one here at the office and the case does a pretty decent job. Not expensive either, so, I'd say worth the purchase.

This needs a bump, I ordered one from amazon.. and it was crap to say the least. I contacted Amzer and even though i ordered from a third party seller they offered to replace it for me for FREE! gotta love customer service! Other than that its a great case. :good:
Nice case!
I have the black one ordered from amazon as well.. It came in very quick . I agree this will protect the device from most bumps and bangs. this is the 3rd case i bought .
I am going to sell all 3 on ebay for a good price if i decide against buying another nexus 7.. not made my mind up. sent two back not sure i wanna deal with the hassles of google device support to order another..
anyway GREAT CASE for the money..

Sinjimoru Sinji Wallet Pouch Review + Pics

Hello, this is my first review of any thing. It is on the sinjimoru sinji adhesive wallet type pouch available on amazon here :
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005ZVVJ1I/ref=cm_sw_r_an_am_ap_am_us?ie=UTF8 . It is about $10 USD.
I originally bought this item because I didn't really have the need for a wallet (I only carry a credit card and ID). Being able to combine my phone and money seemed very convenient to me. It arrives in pretty plain packaging and is very easy to install, peel the plastic attatched to the adhesive part and apply.
At first, it worked great. It looked smooth, and had a very nice deep black color. It felt sturdy and was very stuck onto the back of my phone. It could carry a whole spare anker battery a little snug and a few cards plus some earbuds with ease.
2 months later, here I am. It has discolored and turned almost a navy color. It has gathered a lot of fuzzy little material now and looks very unattractive. It is even ripping at a seam. It still does it's job of holding things and is still very sticky to the back of my otterbox commuter.
Overall, I would rate this item a 2/5. It looks great at first, and does it's job, but becomes very ugly after a month or two. I hope my review helped. I would not recommend buying this product.

I don't have a long term use experience with Cosmos 3x of adhesive pouches I got from Amazon ($5.99 for a pack of 3), but I decided to apply it in a different way inside of the holster. Here is my setup: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39174277&postcount=45
Will start using it once it gets warmer outside and my winter jacket is off I figured pouch itself will not be in contact with my pocket, so less wear'n'tear!
Any thoughts on putting the Sinji pouch (or similar type of stick on wallets) with a bumper frame case? I'm thinking the bumper frame lip will help recess the Sinji pouch nicely.
Put this directly on the back of the phone.

Use a bumper case like this that has no back

[Case] Targus Safeport Rugged Max Pro - Galaxy Tab 3 10.1

I have a number of Galaxy Tab 3 10.1's in an enterprise environment that isn't kind to electronics. The GT3 10.1's work great and are cheap compared to other devices or even the more defacto enterprise hero, the iPad.
The problem I've had since getting a hold of the device is getting ruggedized cases for it. I've tried the Gumdrop rugged case (and probably should post a review thread of it) but I wanted something more serious looking and less like the tread of a tire. That's where the Targus Safeport case came in.
I'm pretty sure these things aren't technically sold by Targus in the US. I've found them on their official EU site but they don't sell direct. I bought 11 from Buy.com recently for about $65 a piece. They float around the internet on a few sites, although I probably hope none of you buy them since I may need them all.
The case is pretty beefy and has a built in screen protector. It's rated for a 4ft to concrete drop rating (which I'm positive we'll test in my environment). It lists wind, rain, and dust ratings although I'm skeptical on those just based on the hole for the home button in the screen protector.
It's a 3 piece case with a rubber inner shell, the snap on screen protector, then the hard exterior shell. It has covers over the headphone and power ports. The IR port is opened but sealed with a material similar to the screen protector. All the buttons are appropriately raised and seem to function just as well as when they were uncovered. The speaker grills are on the front and covered with a black fine grill mesh to probably keep that dust rating. The giant hole in the back is covered with the same material as the screen cover. I'm guessing Targus must have a connector that snaps in the circular hole. I think I've seen the same hole on the iPad case they sell.
Overall I'm happy to find the case. I'm worried it's going to be hard getting as many as I really want. So I'll probably be begging Targus for a bulk order or buying every last one on the Internet.
If you have any questions about it please ask.
