Hi,
Can anyone confirm that the Telus Milestone works properly on the Telstra NextG network?
My replacement phone just arrived from Expansys and instead of sending my original UK Milestone back they sent me a sealed Telus one.
There is so much conflicting information regarding the Telus Frequencies so I need your help.
I need to confirm'
1. The Telus Milestone is quadband GSM
2. The 3G Frequencies 850/1900 will work on Telstra's NextG Network or Vodafone's new 850MHz Network.

Both Telus and Latin America (not Mexico) Milestones have 3G over 850/1900/2100 MHz frequencies. You probably will need to manually enter the APN settings for your provider if you will use Tellus stock rom. If you provider uses 900MHz for its 3G network, then it will not work.

No, you'll need to go with a carrier like T-Mobile who support the same frequencies as the international version (I assume, I haven't checked them recently).
T-Mobile has a 2100 MHz band but it's paired with 1700 MHz for AWS so I'm not sure if that would actually work.
The 1900 MHz band would get reception from AT&T, although only in areas where they're using 1900, probably in the city.
That's just for 3G though. If you don't need 3G then T-Mobile and AT&T are both GSM carriers.
you will have 2g coverage with at&t and tmobile, and some 3g with at&t, when you have wcdma 1900 coverage... that's about it
I suck at knowing these radios. But, if you are visiting friends, what you can try to do is borrow their sims from different carriers for 5 minutes and see what works in the area(s) you visit. Just an out of the box thought.
AT&T is using 850/1900MHz 3G/UMTS bands (if i'm not mistaken),
i9000 international version supports 3G/UMTS 900/1900/2100 MHz, 850MHz not included.
so I think you are not able to use the 3G network, but the GSM should be working find although it's much slower.

Nope. You would have to hardware mod the phone.

I know this is an old thread, but I was looking for information about what modems are for what phones and came across it and thought that as an AT&T customer, I should clarify some information.
Most of AT&T 3G network uses 1900 MHz. AT&T is also "overlaying" 850 MHz over their existing 1900 MHz to increase capacity. There may be some 850 MHz only locations, but I am not aware of any. For the most part, if your phone supports UMTS1900, you should be able to get 3G anywhere that AT&T's map shows 3G availability.

if you bought a i9000m from canada. you can use UGKC1 or UGJL2 modem to enable 850
im currently on at&t using i9000m with ZSJPG modem with 850mhz enabled
Just 1900Mhz isn't all that great, kinda slow and spotty. Don't get me wrong, it's usable, but 850 is significantly faster/better at least where I live.
I have an I9000M but occasionally use a modem without 850, and it's not as good.
While there are roundabout ways to get 850 on other modems, I usually use one of the Bell ones like JL2 or KC1.
I am using jl2. kc1 did not work reliably with my microcell and would instead keep trying to pull in weak signal thus sucking battery. As for 850mhz only.. most of the I93 corridor on new England is 850mhz only.

It's not paired. It's a single band that uses 1700 MHz for upload and 2100 MHz for download. Just like the international 2100 Mhz band uses 2100 MHz for download and 1900 MHz for upload.

So just to clarify, my stock i9000m, running 2.3.3 and UGKG3 will get 3G in southern California on both the 850 and 1900 bands? UGKG3 can use both bands?

Someone at my workplace is selling me his galaxy s but the model is not i9000 , its i9000l , i really wanted to buy the i9000 because thats the model most roms are build for , my provider uses 850/1900 MHz for 3g , does the original i9000 has support for 850/1900 MHz or do i have to buy the i9000l?
The international version doesn´t support 850 but it does support 1900.
What service provide are you with?

1.) the LTE Frequencies vary from country to country...
From HTC:
EU: 800/1800/2600 MHz
US (AT&T): 700/850/AWS/1900 MHz
US (TMO): 700/AWS MHz
US (Sprint): 1900 MHz

Now comes the great news.. as far as I know Rogers uses 2600 MHz . so EU Version from the UK WILL work!

the one that available now, only has one band that matches rogers LTE band :2600
as far as i know and read from XperiaZ forum, (c6603 XperiaZ has almost same LTE band as ONE)
no one are able to get LTE.

I could assume they have the US Model then? If they have the European one, all they need is the correct apns and maybe activate LTE over Settings.. DIAL *#*#INFO#*#* and then phone information ... and see if LTE is activated

last hope wehave is flash the baseband when xperia zl came out.

Hi,
As the title implies, is the htc one dev phone quad band? and if not, is any htc one quad band? of course they are locked down to use certain frequencies and what not to specific carriers.
Thing Im getting at is... if it indeed does have quad band then there is room for devs to find a way for people like me to get LTE on t-mobile and not just 3G. Unfortunately, the devs phone tend to favor ATT and leaves t-mobile hanging when it comes to 4G.

I have been told that when a radio is available then we could flash it. But I haven't been able to confirm this and I too want to know about this. 1700mhz band is what Tmobile uses. This really could be the difference between me getting an S4 and this phone.
I believe that the dev edition out of the box will not support 1700 for TMO but I also believe that is a software limitation and not a hardware one as I believe it is the same hardware as the at&t version.

Dev version has same frequency as AT&T version
HSPA/WCDMA:
Europe/Asia: 850/900/1900/2100 MHz
GSM/GPRS/EDGE:
850/900/1800/1900 MHz
LTE:
US (AT&T): 700/850/AWS/1900 MHz
3G for Tmobile is not supported but I guess 4G is supported because it has AWS
1900 mhz is t-mobile 3G network it will have 3G but no 4G. Unless the devs get there hands on the 1700 soon.
My other question still applies from above. Is this phone indeed a quad band one?

Anyone know for a fact that a radio flash would enable 1700?
I couldn't find exact specs, but the report on ifixit (can't post link) tells that there is a Qualcomm MDM9215M Communications Chip for GSM/UMTS/LTE. The other chip TriQuint TQM7M9023 is for Quad Band usage, GSM etc.
I am trying to find out, which Frequencies this chip supports.
I want to buy the US Dev Edition 64GB for use in Europe and I am still hoping that flashing a new radio rom is a work-around to get it working everywhere.
Maybe somebody has already done it?

It's actually 7-band (700/850/900/AWS/1800/1900/2100)... but not all bands are available for all technologies. Here is what you get:
HSPA/WCDMA: 850/1900/2100 MHz - This will give you 3G support on AT&T and MAY give you 3G/4G support on T-Mobile, but only in the limited areas where T-Mobile has already migrated their 1900MHz spectrum to HSPA+. In most areas, their 3G/4G service is limited to the AWS band which the HTC One Developer Edition only supports for LTE.
GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz - This will give you 2G/2.5G support on pretty much every GSM provider.
LTE: 700/850/AWS/1900 MHz - This will give you 4G LTE support on AT&T and T-Mobile.

Hi, T-mobile uses band 4 via 1700/2100. Also the 3G support. And tmobile HSPA must use 1700/2100 BOTH or it wont work which makes T-mobile 3g unavailable till 1900 is completed.
But perhaps when it says "AWS" maybe it means band 4 ? is that what your referring to? if so I stand corrected. Then again, LTE 4G is in so little places now.. lets not compute it -_-

In asia, Taiwan, sells the Original HTC One.
Was hoping, I can flash TMO Baseband onto Original HTC One, purchased in Taiwan. Use in USA for 3G and LTE.
Is there a way to make this happen? or are there a Flashable Zip already available, I did not find?
If its a regular HTC one yes you can flash different baseband/radio. You will not however unlock any frequencies.
If you use T-Mobile on an international, developer, or any HTC one not sold by T-Mobile here in the states you will only pick up 3G in areas that have been reformed.

The Asia models are very different than other models and have a different frequency set for which they are designed. I don't think it will ever pick up AWS (which I think is what you want), even if some other models will.

Meaning, in the past like HTC Desire HD, which I had. There are cooked roms, and flash baseband. Unlock frequency to work pretty much any where.
HTC Original from Asia, which no longer possible.
Can you guys tell me, what t-mobile baseband frequency runs on?
Will the below work on TMOBILE?
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100

I'm not sure where you got those numbers, but everything except the LTE should work. T-Mobile LTE is 1700. However, having 1700 and 2100 is not the same as having 1700/2100 AWS.
Not sure if this is still relevant but my HTC Dev edition clearly uses tmo 4g downloading over 25 Mbps and upping about the same
