[Q] NS4G Phantomskinz - Nexus S Accessories

I searched all over the Internet for this answer and came up with nothing so far. Has anyone tried the phantomskinz chromatics for the Nexus S 4G? I see they have the T-Mobile version, but has anyone tried that on the Sprint Nexus S? I used it on my Epic and I loved it, but I don't want to get it it if won't cover my phone right. If anyone has tried it, please let me know how it fit. Thanks!

Would like to know for my i9023 also, why dont these guys put the model numbers instead of just listing stuff as "for nexus s"?

I do have a message into Phantomskinz about the 4G version, I'll update this thread once I hear back from them. Hopefully someone here has actually tried the Nexus S version they are selling with both of the 4G and the i9023 versions so we can see what it will fit like.

Are the 4g and the I9023 the same size?

I have absolutely no idea...maybe others are going to shed some light on our situation...

Based on specs listed online (checked by others) the Sprint 4G version is 0.3 mm thicker than the TMo version. As far as I can tell, people have been able to use cases interchangeably. (e.g. the incipio feather that people seem to like fits both) I've been reading threads here and at androidcentral for a week or two and I don't recall someone saying they had an accessory that fit one and not the other, but none of this is confirmation for your question.
I just ordered a Phantomskinz Chromatics (carbon fiber black) and it's in the mail. I'll post with a response and possibly pictures when I get it in and installed.

Thanks so much! Pictures would be much appreciated! Let us know how it goes.

I emailed em, they won't fit the i9023, not happy!

They asked me if I want to test one and let them know how it fits...I'll let you know what I find out.

They do work for the NS4G, have the carbon fiber one on there right now.

How does it look? Fit perfectly? Pics?

I bought one for my NS4G and it fit alright. The power button didn't line up perfectly. The texture of the carbon fiber was actually more slippery that the stock back in my opinion. I took it off after a few hours of it being on there.

Same experience. The power button cutout wasn't lined up properly. There is also a little extra material at each of the folds at the corners where the back curves down. I agree that the carbon fiber is more slick than the original cover.
I've left it on for now because it looks ok overall and it's protecting the phone. If something better comes along I might try that. I'll post pictures later if I can.

I'm late to the party but bought the carbon fiber skin and it is definitely not made for the NS4G. It has extra at each corner as stated above plus it doesn't cover completely. I don't see myself using this for very long. I wish I had read this sooner.

Brief Review of Ebay Neoprene Case

Hey all, just picked up one of these $4 neoprene cases from Ebay and figured I'd give my 2 cents for any others looking to grab one.
(edit: err, can't post links yet. but it is the one with the SAMSUNG logo on it, NOT the one with the android image.)
After using the Silicone Amzer case from Amazon for about two weeks, I begun to realize that I wasn't fully enjoying the aesthetics of the Nexus S. I found myself frequently taking it out of the silicone case just to see how shiny it looked all by itself
Received this neoprene pouch two days ago from Ebay (a HK dealer, it took about 10 days to arrive), and am much happier with it. Though I am not OCD about keeping a phone pristine, I am pretty careful with my devices. This pouch allows me to keep it protected when not in use (e.g. in my pocket, in my car, or on my desk), but still allows me to fully enjoy the unencumbered design of the phone.
Anyway, here are some photos. Feel free to ask any questions. For $4, this thing is perfect. Ideally, in the future when more cases come out, I'd like to grab something a little higher quality.
pm me the link I would like to but one. Thanks

Sweet. For future reference, searching "nexus s neoprene" on Ebay will get it to show.
I picked one up after everyone said it was the same as the N1 sleeve. For the price it is definitely a nice little case, but the quality is a drop from the N1 sleeve (not a huge deal, but not what I was expecting based on the comments in the other thread).

Do i need a case for nexus s?

I know using a case makes the phone more rugged and stuff but i like my phone thin... do you think i really need case for my nexus s?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
i do have it
too thin isn't good enough to hold , i have it slipped out of hand few times ...
Well i have a case and it's one of the thin case but i prefer a little bit thinner... any suggestions?

if you are willing to play your phone's life , and if it doesn't hurt you when your phone is dropped or scratched, then take off your case ...
otherwise ....
Well if you put it that way... can you recommend any nice and thin case?

Ringke makes a very thin case if you like the style:
http://www.rearthusa.com/Nexus-S_c_109.html
It's pretty close to my idea of a perfect case when it's new, but it tends to stretch out after a month or two.
A quality alternative is the Mercury case, but it's significantly thicker. The phone is thin to begin with, so I didn't mind the added bulk--I actually enjoy the little bit of bulk it adds.
Looks not that bad... i don't really mind scratch... I'll give it a try later on... thanks

I currently have a white Nexus S... and this cover makes my phone not feel flimsy... hard gel... great feel =] looks really nice on it... sprint had them but they stopped selling them.. if u go to the mall ull find them there in cell phone Case Booths... 20 bucks =] my phone is like new.. no scratches... no damage. All because this case made it happen =]

Its like any other sized rubbery case... but this one is hard gel.. =] so yes

No not at all actually. unless you are capable of dropping it.
That is not a bad case at all iGoogle. However it doesn't fit an i9023 (or NS4G).
Also, you can get it from eBay for about $1.70 or so, which is where i got mine (which i sadly can't use..). Easily the best bang-for-buck case available, if bought from eBay.

search for "nexus s s line case" in ebay.
Its relatively thin and super cheap.
I don't like the feel of the buttons but apart from that I think it's a great case.

You don't need a case.
You don't need a case neither a screen protector. They make your nexus look very big.
The screen is very good, and very hard to scratch. About the back cover, it scratches very easily, so you can change it for another official back cover from time to time. One with NFC and everything is six dollars on ebay.

Metallic Case?

I was wondering if anyone knew of any nice metal/metallic cases for the nexus 7?
None, but if you're desperate you might look at tin watercolour paint boxes.

I have a metallic case on my GSII LTE and it renders NFC/Android Beam useless. I have to take the case off every time I want to use NFC. Just a heads up.

That would be great. I thought it said it would not ship till august though?
Will definitely mess with NFC, also what about WiFi? May weaken the signals no?
I don't think so, many other types of phone and tablet have metal cases and seem to work fine.

Depends. A lot of phones that have metal cases have signal problems. Really depends on metal thickness, antenna power, and antenna position.
Really curious about this one. Anyone got it yet?

yeah they've been in stock. they just update their website poorly, and they don't respond to any messages or emails you send. trust me, i know because i've done this. i ordered a white one (all you have to do is just order despite it not being in stock) and then they start working on it. mine came pretty quickly.
now the problem. upon opening, the white had smudges - indicating that it was not brand new. second, it doesn't fit that nicely, which shows that it is made of cheap TPU. i really had high expectations for it. the other two downsides are the screen and the power button. the screen is way too reflective making it impossible to see in lighted conditions when using navigation etc even with brightness on 100%. the other issue is the poor cut out- the power button is way too far from touching the actual power button so you literally have to push super hard with your nail for it to hit - this makes the casemate tough's power button super easy to touch in comparison. the volume keys however are easy to touch.
i hope you have better luck with yours. i was very disappointed in my case despite the nice youtube review online from oli. oh well - i have other nice cases

[Q] Soft touch battery cover?

I'm fed up with this slimy plasticky battery door that come with note2.
I'm looking for a soft touch matte finish battery door. Perhaps something similar to Nexus 7 2013 or Nexus 5.
At first I was interested in leather one (as there is a thread for that). Looks like a Note 3 and have better grip. But the again I just dont like the leather look. I prefer a simple soft touch finish that wont left many fingerprints.
Does anyone know this?

How about Carbon Backcover like this? Not as plasticky as the original. However, it's not too soft I guess, just enough for comfortable gripping and exclusive feeling instead of plasticky thing.
I found this not my taste but sort of what your looking for
