Hi guys, just thought I'd share my findings. Not sure if many here use veetle but here goes.
So it was the FA Cup final (soccer?) over in england and I can't get a decent steam over here in asia. Thus I turned to veetle. Veetle plays on my g tablet with flash 10.3. But video is a bit choppy. I'm on tnt 4.4.
To overcome this, I searched the net and found a "fix".
Heres what you need to do:
1) Get dolphin hd browser (not sure if setting user agent is available on stock browser)
2) Get vplayer from market (if not available, search online for apk)
3) Go to settings in dolphin browser and set user agent to Iphone (not ipad).
4) Visit veetle.com and stream away. The video should open the vplayer and stream the .m3u8 format from there.
Note: vplayer is a paid app. Free version is a trial for seven days. I bought the app on my desire hd and ported over. It did not appear on my g tablet market. (using olympus build prop). And watching on copy righted content on veetle is not strictly legal but I'm a poor student and theres no decent feed here.

I'm new to forums ... but have you tried Skifta. It is not optimized for the Xoom yet. Only works in portrait mode for me. Let me know if you can get files to play from other sources to the Xoom (espically video)

We just updated the version in the Android market to v0.73. Amongst many other things, this should fix up landscape mode and make it a bit more sensible to use on the Xoom.
Give it a go and let us know what you think!
Allan (of the Skifta team).
Twonky works. I have a media server and I am able to access video from several devices including the Xoom using Twonky. The thing with video is what type it is. I find avi has less issues. MP4 can be tricky.
I use it with PlayOn and Vortexbox as my backends and the new version with tablet support is exactly what I have been waiting for! Nice job!
I have been using it since I got my Xoom to stream from my xbmc box. It has worked pretty well for me. My only suggestion is to make sure and exit out of the app when you are done or it will murder your battery.

I have MLB At Bat 11 installed, but unfortunately, the Captivate isn't supported for live streaming. Since it works on other Android phones, such as the Droid, Droid 2/X and Nexus S, is there a way to trick the App to stream live games to my phone?
I have a MLB.tv premium subscription.
I assume you're talking about live TV streaming because i'm able to live stream audio without problems but haven't tried video because I dont have a subscription
Sorry, I should have been more clear. I want to stream live video.
What rom do you run?

Swap out your build.prop with one that has nexus s info.

Swype breaks, though.

Well, this is actually my first Android Phone, I've only used a Android Tablet before and my tablet had a YouTube App with an HD, not a HQ, function.
So my Question: Is there a YouTube HD App for android 2.3.5/6?
HQ kinda sucks on the note screen.
why use an app when you have a browser? just go on youtube.com, choose your video and choose the resolution for it there.

For some reason the newer version of the YouTube app does not offer the HQ option...so you will have to go back to the 2.1.6 version...
Find a jetvd apk, it's no longer in the android market, you can choose hd there and stream through your video player in hd (you can also use it to download youtube vids in hd) . HQ on the official app is only 480p no HD option so far. I also would be interested in hearing about any other apps that can stream HD youtube vids.

This is awesome, not a complete replacement for the youtube app but better than nothing and still a bit more comfortable than the browser
Jetvd gets to available options screen, I touch the thumbnail and nothing happens. I set a download folder and Im on wifi. So far jetvd sucks. J/k just cant get it to work.
Try Tubemate from the App Store. Dunno if its full HD but choosing the highest setting looks pretty cool on the Note, way better than the YouTube app. Being able to download vids is a nice bonus.

Guess I was referring to HQ. Tried I screenshot and the video didn't show for some reason. Shame because it was a good one

tubemate is good, it lets you download or stream in any resolution available for the video. I prefer to download the videos in 720p or 1080P and play back that way if I want to watch it again I keep it saving future bandwidth and it looks much better then HQ in the yt app which is probably only 480P.
You can view yt in browser in desktop mode and select resolution but going full screen generally is a pain and doesn't look as good as a 720P or higher download in tubemate. Best to get tubemate from the official site tubemate.net as there are dodgy versions around even been some bad infected ones on market apparently according to the aps developer.
Been trying for about two days to get this working, was really annoying me that when i got the nexus 7, i could not use i player.
So here it is for the others that are having problems with it.
Install the two apk's attached.
If you have been trying to get it working with other versions of iplayer and flash, please go into app manager and clear the cache and data of these apps before opening them.
go to apps and launch i player and enjoy.
No need to use other browsers now.
just installed those files, working well. thanks.
Nice one cheers

Simple indeed but The picture quality is a bit crud with this method _ if u install flash and Firefox or dolphin mini and set to desktop user agent you can just go to the iPlayer website and select and the stream adjusts to your bandwidth and you can view the HD streams too! You have to put up with the flakiness of flash in a browser but you can still watch in glorious techno vision.

Works great, but couldn't get dolphin to work with flash and Firefox isn't compatible,so I'm really grateful for this until we get an official app.

Fantastic all working.

Edited: I meant to say use the Firefox beta from play and then set request desktop - then go to normal iPlayer website.
So far is most stable way to get high quality viewing and HD options. HD stuff looks awesome - other versions just look poo in comparison.
If u want to show someone iPlayer on N7 then the above is the easiest and best imo

Funny thing that, im no expert here, but when i wiped the Nexus and re installed the i player and flash as i said above, i got the same thing. Perhaps someone with more knowledge could explain. But also i Rooted the device and set the dpi to 160 for tabley mode before i installed. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I was born in England, and as such I really like all the tv programmes ect, but the app says it only works in the UK.

That's because here in the UK we pay a hefty licence fee for the privilege.
I was using firefox beta + sideloaded flash, but will give this a go. Thanks OP.
I thought would start this post since I didn't see one where people could some of there favorite video apps that don't come stock on the N7. Her is my list:
1. Netflix - pretty good app and greatest availability of streaming movies you will find from a monthly service.
2. Xfinity Player: Nice updates to the UI for 7 inch tablets and really good for catching up on old episodes of Spartacus.
3. Crunchyroll: The premiere app for watching animes that are subbed and best of all they have a free option that works over Wi-Fi. Doesn't work over Bluetooth tethering, but ICS built in Wi-Fi tethering is just fine if you don't mind the ads.
4. HomeDia: A nice free app that allows you to stream videos on your home network. I paired mine up with plex media server since you have to pay for tversity and it has worked well. If it doesn't play a video just use a third video player app like rockplayer.
5. Dailymotion: To be honest the only reason I use this app is to catch up with subbed anime episodes of OnePiece, outside of that nothing really else for me.
The good thing about these apps are they are free to download and numbers 1, 2, and 5 have apps for the Xbox 360. Well those are mine, so what are yours?

Crackle has some good free movies and tv shows. I also like to browse vimeo using the app, there are lots of cool videos on there.
If you like to watch current TV DROID TV Primetime actually works very well on the N7. There are quite a few free shows but for @$9 for three months you can get shows like Game of Thrones, Mad Men, Greys Anatomy, and dozens of others. I have used it for over a year on my DROID X and it sizes up really well to the 7inch for factor.

Are you doing this on a N7?
I had problems with it on my N7 in that I couldn't get it to lower/hide the info when the video was playing. Unless I am missing something .... On my phone it worked just fine.
UPDATE
Now if this isn't stupid on my part..... if you touch the video when it is playing, a icon shows on the bottom left to make it Full Screen... thought I had tried everything...

Thanks I didnt know that Crackle would work with the N7 unless I installed flash. So far it looks pretty good, I just dont like how the UI doesn't work that well in portrait mode. Hey that's what updates are for.
