[Q] Disable Battery Full notification?? (Tweaky 4.1 ROM) - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I´m currently on Tweaky´s 4.1 Gingerbread ROM.
Works perfectly but I want to turn Battery charge notification completely off. Now, even when I´m in silent mode, the phone vibrates when the charge is complete. This wakes me up when I´m asleep, very annoying.
Is there any way to turn the notification off?
I didn´t have this problem on Froyo.
I would ask this question in Tweaky´s thread in the developers section but I´m not allowed since I´m new in the forum.
Regards,

BUMP
Maybe somebody could be kind enough to copy and paste my above question in the Tweaky ROM thread in the developers section?

I've had the same problem, just put paper under the phone

Try turning sound off then go to settings and turn vibrate to never. If that doesn't work try to delete the sound from system/media folder....just a guess but if no sound file then no sound

Thanks for the reply.
Will try to set vibration to Never and see if that helps. Now I have the phone on silent and vibrate "Only when not in silent mode". That should be enough one would think.
Deleting the soundfile, do that really make any difference since it´s the vibration I
can´t get rid off?

Yeah that should work. I tried it last night and I didn't hear a thing....maybe I'm a heavier sleeper or maybe it worked.
The reason I suggested deleting sound file is so you wouldn't need to put phone in silent. If the first suggestion works then ignore the second

Deleted the batteryrelated sound files from the system/media folder.
No luck, the phone still vibrates when the battery is fully charged.
Maybe I need to switch ROM... :-(
Any more suggetstions?

Apparently not ROM related.
I have tested and the same problem exists on Doc´s ROM and Juwe´s ROM running JVH.
This is ridiculous, is there really no way to make the phone NOT vibrate in the middle of the night???
Please help me with this....

[Q] Quick Question about Serendipity ROM

Just flashed Serendipity, so far I like it. I do have one quick question tho:
Is it possible to have my phone set up to vibrate when I receive Texts/Phonecalls with this ROM?
I've tried everything that I can think of in the settings menu and haven't had any luck yet. And I searched the Serendipity ROM thread but didn't find anything specifically talking about this.

Go to Settings->Sound and set Vibrate to always, but I don't know that that works for SMS, you may have to set that manually, so go into the SMS app, then go menu->settings there, then go to notification settings and set vibrate to always in there as well.
In the sound settings, gor for the last option. It's disabled, so choose the option above it, turn it on, set the vibrate strenght and turn off the above one, it will save the options and vibration strength.
Attempted both of those:
I have my vibration intensity turned up to the maximum level and still have absolutely no vibration whatsoever.
Does anyone know of a vibration fix or anything for the Captivate that might alleviate this issue?
Try this: go into the SMS app>Settings>Notification Settings>Vibrate Pattern
You can set it to Normal/Medium/Long/Multiple Short/Multiple Long.
That should work for you!

I believe you are talking about the "Haptic Feedback", right? If so, then I don't think this effects incoming notifications. That is only for the vibration per screen touch...
Tried what you mentioned seth and still have no luck.
I have no haptic feedback and have no vibration when receiving a phonecall or text message.
I attached some screen captures I took showing that I have the proper boxes checked.
I have no vibration whatsoever however. I receive no haptic feedback when I hit my home soft key and I receive no vibration when I receive a text/phone call.
I'm kind of at a loss for what to do because I haven't seen any other threads about similar issues around the forum. Any ideas?
edit: oh, BTW, I flashed back to stock and then flashed Phoenix ROM thinking maybe I had a bad flash with the flashing of the Serendipity ROM but the problem persists.
Does it work on stock?

Hmm. Well that sucks.
The loss of my haptic and vibration is really the only thing not working exactly like I want it to so I guess I'll just do without unless something else begins to act up.
Thanks for the input tho.

Happened on my iPhone before I got my Captivate. Got so used to it, I disable all vibrating/haptic on every rom anyway.
Most of the time if you are having trouble with vibration settings, download the "Sound Manager" app from the Market. It can fix a lot of notification problems.
Anyone besides me notice this is posted in the COMPLETELY wrong section?

IF you use Go SMS, it's that. There was a bug that caused phones to enter speakerphone immediately on call. They updated it and it's fixed. Happened to mine, too.
ok thanks yea i guess it was go sms ! so weird! i never an application can effect a phone like that!?
another question now are any the GO dev. apps effecting anyones external speaker? seems like im missing calls and alarms because the speaker isnt lound anymore!

Yeah that's a bug in the leaked version of ICS and roms based on that. You can go ahead to play store (android market) and install this app - volume ace - https://play.google.com/store/apps/...xLDEsIml0LmJyYWluY3Jhc2gudm9sdW1lYWNlZnJlZSJd
And in its profile just put the phone in ringing and vibration mode. Now the phone will ring and vibrate simultaneously!!
Hit thanks if it helped!
It didn't help,
the program only let's you control the audio power,
the only thing about vibration the program has is the option to put the phone on silent&vibration mode.
thanks anyway..
It works. Check the attached screenshot. Enable the options highlighted and just restart the phone and restart the volume ace and see if the options you selected are still showing as selected (doesn't get revert to default). Now whenever a call comes the phone will ring and vibrate
It helped !
where do I hit thanks? I cant find it..
Oh..
It worked.. You win 1 thanks and 4 internets!!!
Glad it worked for you both !!
Enjoy your Note
Cheers!!
Still no vibration
Hi,
your solution did not work for me. Can anyone help me, I miss about half of my calls because of this..
I am running on Rocketrom with Hydracore kernel.
Thanks

Yes, I have, I was on Abyss kernel before switching to Hydracore. I did not work back then either.
I got results when doing:
echo 1000 > /sys/.../vibrator/enable
Otherwise, nothing.
Can anyone upload the symlinker function, ortell me where to get it ? If I can find out what is being called py apps when trying to vibrate, I may symlink it to beforementioned /sys/.../vibrator/enable.
Regards from Switzerland
vibration dont work
I just install this ROM : Ultimate_N7000_LSC_JB_4.1.2_v5.1 , and vibration dont work at all.
Any suggestion ????

[Q] Faulty mute toggle?

Hi everyone
Re-posting this from the general section (posted on there by mistake, was still half asleep lol, sorry)
Just got the xperia z yesterday (after my previous lg 4x was stolen... grrr... may the thief get permanent bursting hemorroids...) and I noticed a weird thing.
The mute/vibrate/sound toggle in the notification bar does not seem to work, and the same goes for the one in the popup shown by pressing the power button for a couple seconds.
Details: the mute or vibrate icon appears on the notification bar, but if I check the volumes in settings, they're still all on, and if I receive a call or get a notification or whatever, the phone actually rings despite the supposedly muted state.
All this doesn't happen if I "manually" turn the volume off with the volume buttons or via settings: in that case the vibrate icon appears and the phone actually does not ring.
Has anyone experienced anything similar?
All good here dude. Hope you get it fixed. Have you tried turning phone off and on again? That usualy fixes small.glitches.

Yep, already tried that of course, as well as uninstalling the one widget I have that interacts with volumes, just to be sure it was not some weird conflict (and of course it wasn't)
Not a biggie actually, as I can turn it down manually or by said widget, but I hope I'll figure it out anyway if only for the sake of understanding the source of the issue
Yep I understand that. Annoys me when I cant get something working lile its ment to.

I have a problem with the toggle in the notification bar and the power off menu. System settings show me notifications and ringtones are off, but the phone still has audible, unmuted notification sounds. Really annoying.

Actually, I could try a factory reset just to be sure, but I admit I'm kind of too lazy to set my stuff up again from scratch only to try and fix that small glitch

Heard about it, but haven't read the whole thing yet (yep, still being lazy)
Jokes apart, I was planning to leave it 100% stock for at least a little while to see how the battery behaves without even the slightest piece of modding (got the phone only last friday, today has been the first real "field test" for the battery and so far I'm pretty positively impressed)
Well I have already removes/frozen a bucketload of apps happy bunny, I am. Now I only need to figure out which app does what so I don't kill something and make my phone less usable.

lol I removed a few apps too, but luckily for me they were uninstallable without root or anything.
I also disabled a few more through the stock apps management, for the time being it's sufficient for my taste
Same irritating automatic toggling action going on

Yes, having the same problem as well with mine. But it has been the same problem since I had ICS on my Xperia Arc S, then Xperia V and now this when I use the toggle in the notification bar or any other toggle aside from toggling it manually via setting. Very irritating since it has never and probably will never be fixed due to the fact that it's a cross-model issue. Chances are, those who say they don't have this problem already has it but don't know it yet or will get it eventually. Sony needs to iron this out once and for all
