hi there ,
does anyone else have this issue , where wifi does not work after waking up from sleep mode. even tho the wifi is on and with max signal on the noticfication bar.
The only fix i found so far, is just turning off wifi and turning on after that.
is there any thing to fix this??
This seems to be a common issue with the O2X and G2X. As for a fix we are all hoping the new update expected at the end of this month will resolve it.

i also had this isssue with samsung galaxy s 1 before.
I've had this issue but mine didn't show any wifi signal or icon on the notifications bar.
when I tried to switch wifi off and on again, the phone rebooted
I have problem with ASUS RT-N56U but no with Zyxel P-330W EE. If I config static IP in O2X, then connection is stable But pings with screen-off is very big (120..1500ms)
I've this problem too! Sitecom wl-309 and my O2X
mine most of the time, turning off and on again doesn't help. it shows the signal and the strength but since uesterday couldn't connect. then all of a sudden the connection is there. and it just started yesterday. i have the phone since 3 weeks ago.
v10b, base 405, rooted.

Same here, but not only once or twice...
First i charge the phone than gettin it off, tryin the wi-fi, it wont work, rebooting... batt goes to 0 or max 60% than the wi-fi works.
Than later i feel that it gets hot and batt goes down very fast.. and no connection again... ( it started this when i upgraded from 10B to 10C)
Any solves for this?
Thanks!

I have seen issues with wifi crashing or not being able to connect at all, but since I came from CM7 Nightly 19 to RC4, my wifi signal went from full strength to 1 bar (in the same spot in my house) and it never seems to get past 2 bars. Also, when only in the next room (used to be 3 bars, now also just 1) it starts to get so slow and some webpages need to be refreshed to load. Any idea of a fix? or maybe this is something that happened when I updated?
Wifi issues
No, I see the same. If you turn it off, and then back on the level jumps up. I was just playing around with that today.

I'll give that a try and see if it works for me! I know it's an ongoing process, so I have no problem doing these work-arounds for the time being. Thanks!
I know that there are random reboot/freeze issues with this phone but I have noticed that my issue seems a bit different.
My phone goes into reboot loops and freezing only when I turn on the WiFi. I'm patiently waiting for the LG "update fix" but wanted some advice from the experts.
Im in afghanistan and only have until next week to return the phone. If it is a software issue then I dont mind waiting but if it is hardware then I dont want to get stuck with a 600.00 paperweight.
I know Im shooting in the dark but I really would appreciate some thoughts or advice.
BTW - I have had the same issues on custom ROM's and stock ROM's. I think I damn near flashed the phone with every possible thing i found on this board, haha.
well it seems like my issue is still isolated to wiFi. The phone has almost no reboots and very little freezes when WiFi is off. any ideas on if this is a possible hardware or software issue?
was it with every ROM you tried the same ?
It happens with every rom but I hate to get my hopes up but it seems to have start happening not as often. right now Im using this
[ROM][21/4-11]TK-ROM Vanilla + LG = true. v0.5.7 (Fr12)
couple of hours so far and it is better but not perfect.
Mine has just recently been randomly rebooting but was fine when I first got it. It never seems to reboot when I'm stationary only when I'm in the car or riding my bike. Twice it happened in the same location on the drive home from work which got me thinking it could be location related. The gps wasn't active at the time so I tried turning off wifi/cell tower location in the options. I managed a two hour bike ride with no reboots today whilst using gps tracking and listening to music. Yesterday the phone wouldn't go more than 10 minutes without rebooting.
Could it be bad location data in some mobile phone masts are making the phone crash due to a bug in the software?

Have anyone other than me experienced that the phone suddenly is turned of? It's not the BSOD or reboot, but just turned off and can be turned on right away..
I've saw it yesterday when it was in my pocket, and this morning when i woke up.
I'm using the CM7 RC1 ROM straight from the box.
Yes. I get this to... (With every build of CM that is)
Same happens to me also with the latest CM7.
Me and my brother also get this, started with cm7 57 I think

Does anyone know how to use ADB to log? Then we could maybe capture some logs when this happens and post to aremcee to see if he can help us..
The same thing has happend to me 2 times in the week a have had this replacement device. It's worse than the one I traded this one for
But I'm on stock havn't rooted or anything.
Just had a BSOD aswell.. Gotta hate this phone. It's works on stock so I can't send it to my dealer and get my money back
Install a Froyo Rom
Profit.
My findings on the CM7 sod (sleep of death) issue (I post this here, as I don't have enough posts to post it to dev area):
I've been using CM7 occasionally since the first nightly. About 2 months ago I suddenly had 3 sods in 2 days. This was after I bought JuiceDefender Ultimate. In JD I had sync enabled once per hour, and JD set to first try to connect to wifi and then mobile data. In Android wifi settings I had wifi sleep policy set to "when screen turns off".
After I set JD to use only mobile data on sync events, and turned wifi sleep policy to "never", I haven't had a single sod since. If I remember correctly, I once managed to induce a sod by turning wifi on or off (can't remember which) through the power control widget, and immediately after that I turned the screen off normally by pressing the power button (while wifi was "dimmed" in the power control widget meaning it was changing it's state).
So I strongly believe that my sods were caused by the combination of turning wifi on or off (either through widget or JD doing it) and turning the screen off at the same time. I didn't experiment any more, since I found my solution above.
I wrote this here, because people try hard to hunt down what's causing the sods, and I wanted to share my thoughts. If it is of no help, then sorry.
it happens sometime... don't trust your phone's alarm to wake up. you could have bad surprise (just had the experience 2 days ago) :'(
i am running cm7 no. 165. and vork kernel clocked to 1504 no reboots or black out issues. i also have green power managing my network data only... good luck all... just remember that cm7 is still nightly and is not considered stable.
Hi, I'm about to get one LG, but I've had the same issue with an Orange Boston mobile with a 2.3.5 CM7. I disabled Wi-Fi sleep too and it seems to help.
Before the scren weirdly shut down and the phone rebooted.
Hmm might try this out and see if it works.
I can't seem to get this issues myself. I will try and test this later on my other phone.
That is the reason why I don`t use CM7 anymore ...

Hello everyone,
So i upgraded my O2X like a month ago... and since then i have had issues with it...
I've upgraded to 2.3.4 from LG official updates... and since my upgrade i've got some serious issue's with my phone..
1. Alot of times i can't send any messages, and i have to retry like 2-4 times before it's working...
2. people can't call me from time to time.... it just hang's up from the person trying to call me...
3. sometimes when talking to somebody, the sound get's all wierd like a scrathing sound with other mixed wierd other sounds... it goes like that for about 5-15 seconds.. Then it stops and and often then i can't her the other person anymore... but sometimes it also goes back to normal..
4. Signal is lost sometimes... the signal bar indicates that their's no phone service.... and then comes back after like 5-15 seconds...
5. wifi aint working anymore... can't use the internet..
6. today i needed to use the gps... but when it finally has found the route i need.. it aint "updating" where im driving..... so i have to close the gps, and then start it again so i can get a update of where the car is located.. its like a "still picture" if you get me...
Please note that i have NOT done any factory reset of the phone after 2.3.4 upgrade... as it cant be true that i need to do such thing everytime an update is launched from LG just to get the phone working....
i dont have anything else installed, like CM or even rooted or anything.. its all stock rom from LG...
Anyone has some ideas or clues of how i can fix these issues?
i have met all of these issues as well. i have to add another issue,"wifi turn off automatically".

Maybe a stupid comment of me , but have you already looked at the wifi-advanced settings? because there you can switch off the "wifi power saving or sleepmode".
You should also check all settings because everything is put back to factory settings..
same freaking issues
What a fail from LG. I bought this phone recently for my wife and I was accusing her being crazy!
I changed all the settigns in wifi for battery effeciency to keept it always on no matter what! wifi keeps disconnecting at times. Even during skype calls and needs to restart wifi(deactivate->activate).
Anyone having a solution for that issues? Otherwise a custom ROM is going to solve this? And if so please propose one for simple use.
It is so FAIL from LG releasing a ROM hat does not work as it should with default values. Android is for users also, not just geeks.

Have you done a 'factory reset' since you updated the device?
You shouldn't lose any stuff on the card, only the applications that were on the phone as such. (But better than sorry to make a backup just in case). Oh of course you will lose contacts unless they are synced with another source as well).
GPS> Make sure you leave the GPS turned on ALL the time. It won't use it unless it has too, and if you start the phone with gps turned off, it won't connect to gps properly. Wifi ? er.. perhaps you need to go into the wifi settings and have a fiddle around with the sleep mode? Or perhaps increase the screen timeout so it doesn't keep disconnecting the wifi so often?
Get a Samsung for sure!!

I will try this when I return from my trip. As I remember I have deactivated sleep mode of WiFi and gps is always on also.
Stay away from this suckiing LG!! Get a samsung!
I have a Nexus 6, flashed with the 6.0 factory image.
I have my wifi set to always on (for tmobile calling). After then screen locks it shuts wifi off. This is great for my battery but bad for my staying connected. At work cell coverage is spotty and without wifi always on I can get 30min + delay in getting text/calls. This has caused a few problems with my boss thinking im off screwing around and ignoring him.
Anyone else notice this? or have a way to keep wifi always on.
My wifi randomly drops since I updated to 6.0. It is annoying. I am not sure if it is tied to the screen shutting off or not.
Yeah it's getting supper annoying. I'm at wits end with it. Might flash back to 5
Probably it is related to this bug: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=188909
When I turned off my WiFi, it was still running, showed in the battery history detail. It was OFF, so I expect it's also OFF there. But it's not OFF. Although today, I don't have that problem.
So please STAR that bug to get more attention.
Have you all tried HellsCore kernel with the "old" WiFi drivers that he built? Apparently it resolved issues for people.
Happen to have a link? Had hoped to stay stock for awhile but ATM its killing me.
