OK, I probably did all of this wrong. I loaded the Sprint leaked ROM RUU 2.1. I don't like it and want to go back to the original 1.56. I thought I could use the RUU 1.56 that can be found in the wiki here. That yielded me an error. How can I downgrade back to the 1.56 ROM from Sprint? Thanks so much.

Try using flash_img to flash a recovery rom. go in put 1.5 back on your device try again?
and what error did you get?
LOL If you used the "main" 2.1 RUU, chances are you aren't going back. LOL
The one I used was "RUU_Hero_C_Sprint_2.20.651.1_signed_test.exe"
When I went to use "RUU_Hero_C_Sprint_1.56.651.2_signed_release.exe" in the wiki, it said something about the bootloader. Am I going to have to wait until the final Sprint 2.1 release? I guess I could root and flash one of the ROMs here, right?
please help, i want downgrade to, from oficial 2.1 to 1.5

There is no rooting and there is no going back. Going back would mean an older hboot and the phone doesn't allow that.
So.... And another two, and another two ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rY0WxgSXdEE#t=0m49s

use the all in one toolkit
Enter the following command - fastboot getvar version-main, which will tell you which ruu or nandroid version you will need.

I'm trying to get back to stock rom, i've watched many videos on this today alone and here's what i think i know...
i need to download the relevant RUU to force back into stock, the RUU i need is only in OTA.ZIP format which the All In One tool (that was so kindly pressented to me on a silver platter ) doesnt like. I am an expert in unlocking / locking the bootloader though...

Not to worry. When we have S-OFF you can flash any RUU you like. So it will be back to stock. The only bad thing is if you REALLY want to have all the Vodafone bloatware back that came from your original ROM. But there are other vodafone RUUs I think, but just not from your region.

I am having trouble returning my T-mobile HTC One M7 phone back to stock. I already relocked the bootloader. I tried to flash a the RUU which I feel like is not working because the signature keep coming out failed. It could be the wrong RUU. Can any one help me find the RUU version 1.27.531.7 for my phone. I have tried every where and I am getting the wrong RUU or the RUU is not working. Because as of right now my phone is useless.

hey yall I been searching and reading all forums on going back to stock. theres only regular sprint htc m8 version and nothing on the hk edition so I can get the new ota and remain on stock. ive lost my back up file when I upload a custom rom. ive tried a bunch of things like using ruu and that but kept getting an error like a 32 and a 99. I cant get the s-on to turn off to get more. idk if im doing something wrong or what but im hoping someone can shine some light this way and help me out. yes I tired the sunshine apk but it pops up need based rom etc. so.........
You have to relock to use an RUU when you're still S-ON, and you must make sure that you're using an HK RUU.

Yes, relock the bootloader (fastboot oem lock). That'll prevent the error 92 or whichever it was. It doesn't matter what recovery is on there, as the RUU will overwrite it with stock.

Did you review the instructions on how to flash it? I believe you extract the 0P6BIMG.zip from the larger zip file, and put it on your external SD.

You can try Firewater, but most likely you'll need to use SunShine.

You could and it would probably work, but I personally like the squeaky clean feeling that an RUU gives. Why does the RUU not run? I wrote a guide here that might be able to help.
