Hi, the FedEX dude just delivered me my O2X, and now i want to upgrade it to v10D.
So i downloaded the LG tool, downloaded the appropriate usb driver, then connect the phone to the computer, then it says Phone is already the latest version??
How am i supposed to upgrade the phone?
Hmm you either download an LG rom from the dev section here or wait for an update in your region.
If you have v10c out of the box then it's probably the same update depending on region, info in dev section.

btw dont be so eager to upgrade using official LG tool, it "bricked" my phone. Had to flash rom myself.

Hi,
I have a question regarding to software update:
The latest version on my phone is v10a, but in Hungary we have the v10c update.
(and i think more updates are coming)
So, I can't update my phone via wifi (it says authentication error), neither via lg pc suite tool (it says this is the latest sw version).
I bought this phone in a local gsm shop, and I think this phone is from abroad, that is the reason why I can't update it. The shop just installed Hungarian language and unlocked it.
Do you have any advise, trick or something what can I do in this case? Because I don't want to bring my phone to the shop every time when a tiny update releasing.

(btw as I know installing the latest original lg sw to this phone won't solve my problem)
You can find what you need in android development forum. There is a thread call firmware flashing rooting. You shound find: 1. methods to flash firmware . 2. Link to download firmware (page maintained by Luivit).
Remember, do it at your own risk. You may end up brick you phone, it would be a real pain if you don't have warranty.

I have the same problem, and the CS told me to use PC Suite, but it can't update too...
I think the LG update server in HK have some problem that they don't know.
Update Servers Broken
Looks like something wrong with update servers.
When I try update request link by self, it returns response without any KDZ files and ROM versions.
I ordered P990 White model at Plemix.com(Hongkong).
I got the phone and check software version appeared by "China Chungwa telecom"
It have too many bloatwares.
So I flashed to OPEN-EU ROM. It's perfect and clean ROM. No have bloat wares.
And, Update manager runs after Country select to "EUROPE" and check the
support model list see, we will confirm latest software version(v20l, GingerBread),
I think you will select this method.

Well, this is the third thrill under warranty I get. This one still arrived with froyo. I cant seem to update to gingerbread with the lg updated. Tried following the kdz installation post but would not flash., kept telling me the phone was up to date. Any clues..? This will be my test phone as I just got a vivid.
You have to follow the directions on how to flash kdz and returning to stock tread in development thread
From what I know,the P on the end is just specific to the carrier,I am on rogers and mine ends in G(p925g) With so many different providers carrying eseentially the same phone,just different stock OS bloated with their provider junk LG has to do something to seperate the devices based off carrier. I find it strange that you cannot update,as it seems that there is an official ATT update for GB now. Have you had any luck?
No luck, att has a regular P925, the P925p is very rare and will not update via the update. I tried the kdz flash instructions and did not work. I will try it on an xp machine as i did it on a windows 7.

I also have the p925p version I have tried updating to ICS, If you have the LG support tool and click customer support look under supporting models and the p925p can only be updated to v20p which is Gingerbread, look at the regular p925 and it says v30b which is ICS, any suggestions?
Does anyone know if the P925p can be manually updated to the official ICS with the kbz files?
The phone I have says p925 on it behind the battery and in the software, the only place where it says it's p925p is when trying to use the POS LG support tool. Tells me my phone is already up to date etc...
Looking to find out if this thing can be updated manually with the official ics from att or not.
So [email protected]#$ing annoying, twice it's started the upgrade for ICS with the LG Upgrade Too, but it eventually always stops with "problem communicating with phone" then when you restart the program it tells you no update for P925p phone is up to date.
Last time I did the phone recovery, and it automatically did a restore, then said there is an update for ICS, then back to the problem communicating BS (stops when it says checking phone #, I don't have a AT&T sim in there right now) I tried without a sim and with a t-mobile sim same issue. Eventually says no update available.
Has anyone been able to get ICS on the P925p version??

Just an update and some info to add about the P925p.
The P925p is the same as the P925, there is no difference. LG's Support Tool telling you that your phones is a P925p is bogus / a bug. I spent a few hours on the phone with LG support, several techs. They all confirmed that the phone is P925. P925p is the exact same phone, just when its in Korea, they will recognize it as a P925p. So ignore the POS LG Support tool telling you your phone is P925p and that there is no update available for your phone.
There is a way around this error (telling you your phone is P925p and no update available). Uninstall the LG Support Tool, uninstall the drivers and reinstall the drivers, install the LG Support Tool. Sometimes you need to install the driver from the Support Tool, instead of before.
Then it will tell you there is an update.
My issue was that it would begin the update but always stop and say "PROBLEM COMMUNICATING BETWEEN PHONE AND PC" so I could never get it to update.
I had to follow this guide to get it to update http://www.lg-phones.org/how-to-flash-unbrick-lg-thrill-4g-back-to-stock.html (make sure you pick the ICS KDZ file 30B when you get to that step so download that first)
Even using this guide I ran into the problem communicating between phone and PC error again, but just pushed restart a few times and it finally worked.
Bottom line is your phone is P925 not P925p
Note: If you still have issues with the LG Support Tool, sometimes picking Change Country and setting it to another country, then setting it back to USA helps.

I was running CM10 on LG P990.
I downgraded and installed stock rom using the:

So now I have BB 725 V20h.
I then try to connect and update the firmware using LG Support Tool, It says new firmaware is available and "Start Updating" , but when i start updating , after "Analysing" it says "Model not supported".
When i check Supported models tab --> it shows LG P990 is supported and latest firmware is V30b.
Could someone help me update to V30b using LG Support Tool.
Use the attached program, much easier and simpler.
Type P990 on model ofc, and enter your phones IMEI without using any -
Newest firmware, ICS (V30A or V30B) will appear and you can directly save it as .kdz which you need to extract and then you can flash it.

I've got almost exactly the same problem.
I've flashed V10D to my P990, and the software update menu on the phone says: "already latest version"
The update tool says also update available, and also "software update not supported for this model"
Any tips??:crying:
Froyo is realy bad after the V30A leak.
I really want the official (benelux) update and not the V30A leak.
