flashed with odin not fully charged - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I flashed my phone to gingerbread with odin when it was only 60% charged.. I did notice that my battery drains more quickly now, but is that related to the odin flash?
I installed battery calibration app and hope that solves the issue, but was it "dangerous" flashing with only 60% full? I read somewhere it should be fully charged before flashing

I regular flash with low batterie no its not that as i get good batterie life 2.3.3 jvh
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App

its the rom / kernel
its not odin, people only say flash with a full battery so your phone don't die in the flashing process and brick it.
takes a few attempts to do a battery calibration, try it again, if its still a problem change rom

thanks for the quick answers
good to know

Flashing tends to upset the battery for a week or so .

Phone getting crazy

please, help me guys and girls!!!! my phone is getting crazy!!! although i am on 100% charge, if i turn it off and trying to turn it back on, it shows me the sign of an empty battery and nothing happens. i am back to latest stock rom, 2.2.1 XWJS5 from darky's 9.3 beta. i did a clean instal with odin with repartition and then a partition format. i did that because, when in charge, the phone was telling me to turn on the usb if i want to transfer files. i really don't understand anything. and besides that, the whole screen was bouncing and telling to check the usb cable even though it was no usb cable plugged.
I would suggest a wipe of phone and flashing with pit and repartition to Eclair .
See if that fixes the problem if it does you can upgrade .

Thank you very much. I did a fresh install with odin and repartition of a stock rom, the latest xjs5. It only happened once. The thing is now, if I turn the phone off, I can't turn it back on, it shows me the same, an empty battery and the phone is dead. Once I plug it in an electrical socket is back to life in 10 seconds

But this sudden death happened before, when the problems started

Probably the word Beta in the rom you used is the original problem .

It happened before i installed the beta

Galaxy Note won't enter CWM. Battery low. Bootloop. Download mode works.

Hey all!
I just got a huge problem!
Well I saw that I had downloaded the CM7 experimental for SGN.
Flashed it with CWM and then my phone keeps rebooting. (boot loop)
I can't enter CWM, but Odin mode. So I thought I could flash it with Odin. Well here is the other problem.
Meanwhile my battery went low and the Odin mode just says "Low Battery! Can't Download!".
It can still charge but when I plug it in for charging it just keeps rebooting itself and won't charge!
Is there anything that I can do except changing the battery or trying to load it in another device?
No one of my friends got a SGN
Turn completely off to charge, and let it suit for a bit
Well I removed the battery and everything. Now it's off for about 10 minutes. How long should I let it suit?
Edit: When reputting the battery in... Should I first insert the battery and then the AC or the other way around?
Just plugged it in... First battery then AC.
It keeps rebooting
Sorry for triple post but... no answer? anyone?
Are you able to enter download mode?
Home + Power + Volume down
Well currently not because my battery is not charged and the download (odin) mode says "Low Battery! Can't Download!".
Yesterday i've ordered a docking station, so I'll charge my battery when it will arrive.
Then I'm able to enter the download mode again. And flash via Odin.
Even if I wanted to avoid this step because the binary counter will be set to +1.
Is there no other way I can?
Why your count raise?
just flash Stock ROM, it won't raise count.
but as i read OP, you have already tried to flash CM7 with PC odin, that may have raised it already.. But check it again, it was not successfull due to low bettery may it hav saved you from flashing, n your count is still at zero.
So you mean, when flashing a stock ROM with Odin won't raise my counter? Do you have a good guide for flashing the GN with Odin to stock?
Edit: Should I flash with one or three files?

Sure it won't. Read again my earlier post i have edited. N you can get installation guide from link on my signature.
edit :
That depends which ROM you are downloading, if it contains 1 file you have to use one, If contains three, you have to use three. Read My installation guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20963718&postcount=2

I have flashed CM7 with CWM.
I only flashed with CWM and the counter is still at zero.
Great to hear that there is still hope!
If only battery charging is the issue, then i dont think, you have any problem in recovery. it shud b sort out as you flash Stock ROM.
Gud Luck !

Thank's I'll try it.
Yes battery charging is the only issue.
It can't charge and can't boot into CWM. But in Odin, as long as my battery is full enough.
So I hope that my docking station will arrive until tomorrow.
Then I'll charge the battery with the external battery charger and insert it again to boot into download mode.
Hopefully everything will go well while flashing with Odin.
I'll just follow your guide step by step and report the final status.
So...Flashed it yesterday and everything went well thanks

galaxy note won't start
Hi dr. ketan,
I made a big mistake yesterday. I was on stock gnote rom with cwm installed. I wanted to try out liquidsmooth rom on the gnote (n7000) and the first instruction said to flash lp repack kernel. i went to the chainfire thread and as i couldn't find any other lp kernel, i went ahead and downloaded the lp kernel for the i9220. I then proceeded to flash the kernel using cwm. i know it was stupid of me, but now i just have the samsung galaxy n7000 screen when i start and then nothing happens. I can get into download mode using volume down + home + power keys. Would flashing a stock rom using odin work to reset the phone? thanks for any help that you can offer!

[Q] [HELP] Galaxy note bricked

I was updating my galaxy note to ICS with ODIN3. And on the final, just stopped on HIDDEN.img and keep this way till my battery runs out. Now the phone only power on with download mode, and I cannot flash any rom with ODIN, I tried to flash the ICS from the chinese link, from the sammobile.com, and I also tried others stock roms. Or the same thing happens or just fail or finish without flashing the rom =/
if you can get into download mode you can flash a stock rom using odin

In proper terms:
DONT PANIC. You're not bricked, just borked.
Pull the battery and leave it out for 5 minutes.
Put the battery in and plug the phone into a WALL CHARGER.
Allow it to charge for 2 hours MINIMUM. VERY VERY IMPORTANT. Especially if you let the battery die previously.
Put battery in and go into download mode.
Connect Odin to the phone. One you have the yellow box letting you know it's connected flash a STOCK ROM from here.
Profit.
Well, I'm not at home now. But I already tried to flash a stock rom, and nothing happens, it finishes with 0 instals and 0 errors or just stop on HIDDEN.img. And I use a universal battery charger on my battery

Then you are doing something wrong...
Swyped from a white note.
If it gets stuck at hidden then most probably you are using the wrong pit file as there are 2.. 1 for the 32gb and 1 for the 16gb..

Well, I didn't think about that !!!
On the ICS I downloaded, there was the pit for 32gb, but mine is 16. But I dont remember if I flash the pit. I'll try to flash the 16gb pit again !!!
I'm at almost same position. I have the same screen problem, phone not turning on after Samsung logo.
I'm trying to go into download mode, it says low battery. So, I try to charge it, but it's not charging at all. Tried a battery charger, didn't work as well.

Well, I used a universal battery charge to charge my battery.
I flash the pit 16gb alone, and then I tried do flash the rom and it just get stuck on setupconnection!!!
Well I fixed it.
I removed the sd card and the chip. Downloaded odin3 v.1.83 on 4shared (really easy to find it) because I read this on sammobile.com:
For those user that stuck at hidden.img, kindly proceed with Odin 1.83..100% guaranteed because i’ve try it and it works perfectly..thanks sammobile..
greghart_mirrus
and it work !!! *_*
I installed the ICS, but is full of bugs... So I installed the stock rom again (2.3.6) and its full of errors too =/
did you do a full wipe and cache clearing ?

Hi,
I also encountered this same issue (stuck at hidden.img).
and i also tried to restore the stock rom via odin but it's still stuck at hidden.img
i can only flash the custom rom via CWM but internal SD card is not readable. Do you have any idea to fix this issue, please? thanks for yr help.
Rattna/Zudy
Did u try to flash the rom with odin3 v1.83??? I did this and didnt stuck on the hidden.img. I flashed this rom http://www.mirorii.com/fichier/3/501208/I9220LP1-N7000-ICS-REPACK-tar.html
I am still stuck at same point. Trying to charge the battery with battery charger, and put it back, the phone says low battery can't get in download mode. I plug it into to wall charger it doesn't seem it's charging at all. I don't know what I'm supposed to do ? Should I buy new battery
Hi! I noticed you guys were having problems with ICS. CLICK HERE to check out my guide to get ICS working easily. You can flash the chainfire repack with the attached 16gb pit file (unzip it first) to get ICS. But I suggest you start with step 1 from the guide to get a stable baseband for your ICS.
PS. I have also attached ODIN v1.85.

U'd use someone like this one >> http://www.1001sites.co.uk/BCH_UNI.JPG
to charger the battery.

Note will not charge

Can someone help me? I’m currently running Criskelo’s ICS V11.2 with CF-LRG. Yesterday i noticed a massive battery drain up to 12% per hour. After charger was connected for a few hours i can’t turn phone on, after 5-10 min phone going on by itself, after starting the Phone going again off. I wipe in recovery but it did not help. It keeps repeating.
First of all I'd say you try other battery saving kernels out there e.g. SpeedMod, if your still getting that battery drain bug, try to go to CWM, wipe dalvik cache and batterystats and charge your phone until it's full. Use it until the battery drains to 5% and charge it to full again. (Do a complete battery cycle is what I mean).
Check back after if your still getting the battery drain issue.
probably the problem is hardware issue ( usb connector).
i have flash other rom other kernel, wiped. nothing. i still can't charge battery over usb. how i can restock (cause of warranty)? no way with ODIN

If you flash any gb with pc Odin use a full wipe version and it'll erase root and cwm. Doesn't matter if it's 3 part or not.

I tried with changing recomended settings to save battery & cleaning battery stats in recovery mode but it doesn't help...
is there any fix or some other custom rom that I can flash to improve my battery life to a descent level ?
Tnx in advance & sorry for bothering you but I'm desperate :\

I'm not an expert on this, but I think it would be a good idea to download both CPUSpy and GSam Battery Monitor to find out what exactly drains your battery so much.
CPUSpy is to see if the sleep states activate normally as they usually would. (mine is at >80%)
GSam is to see if there are any rogue apps or system processes that eat the battery up.
Then report back here
EDIT: Also, I heard that it is recommended to calibrate your battery after you flash a new ROM. I think this can be done via recovery by wiping the battery stats.
Please check this..

Hit thanks if i helped

try fresh re installation.... and before installing wipe data/ factory reset, wipe cache partiotion
For save battery in lock mode try a app called juice defender.
