I am in the Philippines and my tab is locked with the Smart network. Will the phone feature and 3G (coz I'm under a data plan) work after flashing my tab with the European gingerbread rom?

Unlocked International Version + Gingerbread outside UK

Hi,
I just got my 1st SGT, - Samsung P1000 Galaxy Tab Unlocked Android Tablet with 3 MP Camera, Wi-Fi, GPS and MicroSD Slot--International Version with warranty (White) - from Amazon and I would like to know if it is possible to get the Gingerbread UK if I am in Costa Rica.
It's like, get the tablet unlocked in USA, go outside USA (Central America in this case) and then get the Gingerbread from UK using KIES. What a mess!!!!
thanks.
Don't waste time with kies. Go to the development section and use the chainfire stock safe gb rom.
