Lol, wtf are you all talking about??
I am not a android specialist or somethin like that, but if you work trough the tutorial in darkys thread, you will get gingerbread that looks like gingerbread, not like stock samsung firmwares.
Why do you make it so difficult?
Just flash the Ficeto JVB stock rom trough odin, then reboot. then flash the dark core 2.2, reboot and install superuser from market. then just flash trough clockwork recovery/dark recovery darkys rom v10 rc6 or final, whatever you want... I prefer v10, it works more stable, even if its a rc.
So, the only important thing is, follow the manual and you will reach your destination
http://www.darkyrom.com/community/i...v10-rc6-i9000-i897-stable-but-not-final.2420/
Here's the link to the instructions...
Have fun and good luck, dude
correct me if im wrong !!!
he wants to use darkys 9.3.
that is not a gingerbread rom is it ?? im sure its a froyo rom (i dont use darkys roms)
so going from gingerbread to froyo without changing the bootloaders can cause issues.
flashing JVB is not gonna help as that is also gingerbread ...
Well, then he could have a look at darkys thread and follow another manual to get to darkys 9.5.
I cant imagine, why somebody would use atm somethin like froyo Its so ultra-old. v10 is much better in every aspect. The only disadvantage is that there arent any kernels for OC/UV :/ But everything else is awesome. Just like the crt screen off animation and the overscroll glow
Anyways, you have to go to darkys thread and make then some conclusions about it instead of just postin a thread about your problem. If you would read the first post, you would know even more, than now

Hi everyone,
Im new here...done a search but Im really confused Im on stock JPY and I want to flash a custom rom and themes but Im not sure what ones I can use or how to install them. Im pretty new to flashing etc but my phone is rooted and Iv got CWM installed. I can use Odin so if somebody could help I would really appreciate it.
Thanks
Rachel x
Simple route and less broken phones is to build your own rom using the magical rom kitchin . Pick your own bits including modem csc files themes etc easy flash dont need Odin .

What rom do you want to flash ?
darkys or something thats fast. i tried the one via odin and my phone just vibrated so i had to reflash to jpy again. im not sure what ones i can use because im on a stock rom.
thanks x
Just roll a dice or smth and hope for the best. Custom roms debate are difficult and usually worthless.
im not trying to start a thread or a debate just want peoples advice. im new to flashing custom roms and dont want to damage my phone. i tried to flash darkys through odin and all my phone did was vibrate and i don't know why,
thanks rach x
Try flashing darky 9.2 reserection edition then flash 9.3 using cwm worked for me
Excuse spelling on packed train

Hi,
I currently have Darkyy's ROM on my Galaxy S but I'm not very happy with it (bluetooth doesnt work and so on...).
So I want to install a stock firmware... 2.3.3 to be exactly.
I just found the Link in the Thread "Stock Firmwares..." but the filename is "I9000XXJVK"... my current firmware is "I9000XXJPY" - so is this a problem?
Would be nice to get an answer soon!
Thanks!
Which Darky Rom are you at? You should realy try 9.5 its the best ROM Darky has ever made.
But back to your topic, you should flash the JVK with bootloaders I guess or you will have a creapy screen at the boot. Stock JVK isn't a final Gingerbread. Its still beta but very stable.

no problem. just remove the lagfix and follow the procedure step by step.
if you want to be extra safe, you could flash back to stock samsung rom, with repartition and pit file, and then go to JVK - gingerbread.
aslong as you follow the instructions to a Tee, you wil be fine.
I'm running 9.3 and it doesnt work for me right. Bluetooth doesnt work, my music player starts random and much more...
Oh and I thought that JVK is the official one by Samsung.. so should I try it or should I change to the MIUI Rom for example (looks also good and is 2.3.x)?
i am running MIUI rom now and i have to say. ITS FRIKKIN AWESOME.
its so customisable, so completely different from samsung roms. i would highly recommend it, i have been thru every rom going, but MIUI is definately one to stick to.
quick updates, very helpful devs, issues fixed asap. overall 10/10
Sounds good so far
So I'm going to try MIUI, thanks azzledazzle!
Hi
my phone is a galaxy GT-I9000
PDA : I9000BGJP3
PHONE : I9000BGJP2
CSC : I9000XECJP2
Build Info : 2010, 11
it has froyo 2.2 , Movistar Spain stock rom
it is not rooted
and it has recovery and download modes
Now I want to flash a custom rom (cyanogen or darky's)
i have read a lot of guides and tutorials but i'm still a little confused
So I want to know if I need to flash the firmware first, then only after that, I install the custom ROM ?
Or do I directly install a custom rom without flashing a new firmware ?
thanks for your help
Hi ziko360, since it sounds like you are new to custom roms I recommend you first try darkys rom.
If you are wanting to flash darkys v10.1 then yes you first need to flash the jvh firmware then flash darkys v10.1 after.
If you dont want to flash a custom rom you could always flash jvo from samfirmware.com then just flash a custom kernal instead.
Edit: Iv just noticed you asked in another post that you wanted to install the voodoo lag fix. If you have done this, then remember you must first diable the lag fix!

You should create a file or folder named disable-lagfix and place it in the voodoo directory on your sd card and reboot the phone. Or if that's too complicated you can Download from the android market the application Voodoo Toggle reboot Button - just hit the button so that voodoo is off and reboot. Also, in the app Voodoo Control there is option to disable voodoo lag fix
Ok thanks alot. i'll check this soon..;-)

It is actually Darkys 10.1 that I have chosen
I've read the tutorial on Darky's website and it explains everything (flashing jvh firmware, disabling lagfixes... )
thanks for your help

I'm kind of new at this and i'd like to know what is the best Firmware i can use for my Branded Bell i9000M.. The phone is already unlocked (SIM)...
I need a guide if possible or clear instructions.. as this is my first time.. Thanks so much
Can I use this Darky Rom?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=814091
Yes you can, i have that rom, but be careful before flashing a Gingerbread rom for the first time. You have to "prepare" your phone.
1: You have to root your phone. search for Superoneclik.
2: You have to install Rom Manager from the Market. Run the app and hit "Flash the reccovery" from the menu. You will be able to install a custom rom from your SDcard by entering in recovery mode.
3: You must flash a Gingerbread rom that come with a bootloader.

Take your time before flashing a rom, there is a lot af topic here to explain what to do, be sure to understand if you dont want to brick your phone. You are responsible of what you are doing.
My phone was rooted, and unlocked and whatnot. But I didn't download any bootloaders or nothing... just flashed with Odin. Now I have darky rom 10.2 EE. I had to flash a new modem to get it to work on 850 band though.. kinda new to flashing too. But worked like a charm
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
Darky's rom 10.2 EE (Extreme Edition) is to be flashed via ClockWorkMod.
Darky's rom 10.2 Resurection is to be flashed with Odin. I was not aware of that version.
I donno then man, I flashed with Odin. It works amazing. Just cause its not a Canadian thing I guess they don't have proper modems built in so I flashed KC1 at first and it was ok. Now just flashed JL2 with cwm and it seems to work better. What's the diff between resurrection and extreme. Just the memory wasting background apps thing? And does darky rom config work with this rom?

You can try S.U.R.F.A.C.E ROM JVQ Base, really fast and has good battery life.
hello guys,
I am looking for someone who is able to flash my friends Samsung galaxy s i9000. It has still the Froyo software on it. I successfully flashed my to ics but I am not able to do this with the other device. It has a strange basebuild no. I'm not sure how to do this.
Can anyone help me? I would be really thankful.
Cheers
Is no one able to help me?
The baseband is the modem. Should make no difference to which rom you flash. Is it on eclair, froyo or gingerbread?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Sorry, just noticed you've said froyo. You just need to flash stock gb rom, then the semaphore kernel to match for cwm and root, then you're good to go for any custom rom you wish.

This smartphone has JM1 installed. Sorry but I am an absolutly newbie. I only was able to flash my one with a step by step guidance.
I haven't found anything about JM1 How to flash etc.
I am a little bit desperate now ....
Search for a stock gb rom (jvu/jw1 are recent) with gb bootloaders and follow the flashing instructions using odin.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Sorry, where do I find something like this? After flashing with Odin I will be able to put ICS from teamhacksung on it?
See perka's jvu thread in dev section, there is an odin flashable download.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Once flashed, boot up, turn off, then flash cf-root kernel for jvu - use the search function to find thread or go to read first couple of pages of perka's thread for a link.
Once you're rooted, you'll be good to go.

Is it this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108 ?? You mean JVU is compatible with JM1?
Thank you for your help!
If you're friend needs a rom i'd start by either flashing Darky's ROM 10.2 RE with full instructions including a vid tutorial on that thread
or
Flash Jetpack v8.2 with instructions and a vid tutorial in that thread.
The reason why i recommend those two ROMS, is they're particularly easy to flash and have good support.
I'd start with Darky's ROM and then move to other ROMS from there if you want, because it's a fast, very stable rom with a brilliant community for support. Plus you dont need much expertise to flash it, and it comes packaged with root and clockwork mod recovery installed, so you dont need to do anything to prepare your phone for flashing. This ROM does it all. If you wanna move off from there, well then you're all set. But if you're friend just wants a fast stable ROM, then he's all set with Darky. If he wants a bit extra speed, then move to Jetpack V8.2 it's stable and no bugs and its very fast and features thunderbolt! tweaks preinstalled, which are custom tweaks written by a guy called pikachu01 and they improve the SGS very well. They dont require too much expertise to install, but this saves you hassle and gives you all those added benefits from thunderbolt!.
If you're really keen on this teamhacksung ICS build then go to the darky rom and then from there install teamhacksungs build. Just make sure you read carefully to know what you're doing.

Flash a stock gingerbread rom. Then flash a custom kernel like semaphore. After that you can install ics.
