Galaxy s over heating? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys
While I was using my phone this morning my phone's temperature showed 54 degree Celsius..i checked it out by pressing "*#0228#". Is this normal? Or should I should I talk to samsung to replace it?

Normal, our temp reading is from the cpu, most other phones read from the battery

Thanks mate..And.. While my phone was on charge..i used about 5 mins.. Battery level dropped from 58% to 56% Instead of charging..i thought it was related to the over heat.. Now you said its normal.. It may be from some other problem then..

Display malfunction

Hi guys,
Maybe some of you have experienced this before, when I put my note away the screen of it gets lit up as if there was an app keeping it from sleep mode. But this happens even right after I have terminated all apps and processes. So technically barely anything runs. I think it might be a software issue? Any ideas please?

Install the CPU spy.apk (Play Market). This app will tell you if your phone is in deep sleep.
can u post the battery stats
open your battery, wait 10 seconds, reassemble and turn it back on... if you're still facing the problem, install and run CPU Spy from Play Store and see which app/service is keeping you phone from sleeping and uninstall that.
It's probably a kernel wakelock
Will try the CPU spy application now. Will post my findings.

How exactly is this app going to tell me which app is keeping my phone awake? Don't see such a list of them just frequencies.

Should I be looking at these processes that are possibly waking my phone up? So far I don't see how this app is solving my problem.
Thanks so much

this l2_hsic wkelock is mainly caused by unplugging the charger without unlocking the lock screen. or unplugging when the screen is black.
Its a known bug
shutdown ur phone., pull out battery, wait for 10 secs., reinsert and reboot. The wkelock should be gone. test again with betterbatterystats

There are several processes that are there, unfortunately not only one that I could just spot.

I was having the same issue, but I tried an Homeversion that has battery saver http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2487526, it is amazing I am getting 20 hrs aprox. you should give it a try!
Provide a prove before you tell such things

With omniswitch activated my battery stands at least 24h,,,but when i accidently put it off,,,my battery suddenly stands 48 h and the phone consumed only 45% in 24 hours. Is this convincing enough!!! And by the way,the using mode is the same in both cases.

And i'm speaking about omniswitch,, not about omnirom
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
In many cases that's pure coincidence.
I mean - do you see it appearing in battery stats?
It's pretty much impossible for an app that doesn't hold wakelocks to have any significant effect on battery life.
