Ha I'll second that, I can find loads on JVK & JVH but nothing on JVO,
oh well guess it won't be long

And have you tried the JVH kernels at least? They seem to work on JVO too. (Read their threads) - I am on JVO and running fugumod kernel
Also you can root the JVO with fuguroot and go back to stock after rooting. Check ramads thread for stock JVO kernel and nikademus thread for fuguroo.

This one works fine for me.

Thanks guys forgot about this thread found cf root for jvo in end.

help installing darky's gingerbread

i got stuck while flashing dark kernel Odin failed, and when i got odin to pass after few attempts the recovery wasnt able to function [i tried to install miui as well and it stuck on the recovery also]
Have you flashed stock gingerbread?

You need to flash stock Gingerbread first.
This has to do with the bootloaders, Darky's v10.0 RC3 requires Gingerbread bootloaders.
If you flash your device with Darky's v10.0 RC3 without the bootloaders, it will not work.
i followed every step in darky's tut and i used a stock jvk rom before flashing
his kernel

Read the sticky in general section.
S.U.R.F.A.C.E 2.something
I'd come off that firmware first as its your service providers own, flash JVH, JVP, JVB any of them, then flash galaxian kernel, and you should be fine bud

[Q] - newbie - flashing jump help

Hi all,
I am wondering if someone will be able to clarify for me.
I have got the Darky 10.2.2 final and I want to install the Latest JVS from SamFirmware.
Will this okay or will this be dangerous? I just want to put it back to Stock and then root it using chainFire CF "Our Legend".
I am planning to just flash on top of the current Darky on the Phone.
Hope this make sense.
I am using ODIN and I have got JIG for download mode.
Thanks guys.
I went from Darky 10.2 to JVS (and then semaphore kernel) no problems..
I had no need to use a jig.

Thanks for the reply.
I am not too familiar with I9000.
Do i need to install the ext4 from CF afterwards? For the lag fix?
Reason i ask is because i noticed that CF has the addon file available for download.
Cheers
It's always a good idea to revert to rfs before flashing a new firmware (in case the kernel doesn't support ext4; i don't think stock jvs does).
Otherwise shouldn't be a problem
Flashed stock rom with pit included. Now using latest. Seems to be ojay. Dont think i will need lag fix
Cheers

Cf-root, semaphore got root permissions too i think, galaxian too, talon.
Cf-root should be enough. Flash it with odin.

Nothing more to say.
You just want root in your firmware now, right?
Then flash the cf-root kernel with odin and you are DONE.
Am I writing invisible?
Srsly
EDIT: nvm It was another guy
