Can u post the apk here? I would like to give it a try. I can't see it in my Samsung apps
Go to the "new" category, scroll down hit "more" should be there dated 18th May.
Otherwise I can try to use titanium to get the apk?

Its not there. I have been checking almost every 2 days since the release of galaxy s 2 ( I didn't know there is a video editor until I saw in galaxy s 2) I even posted on xda several times but nobody uploaded.
I am in Canada and tuning DARKY 9.5 maybe that's the reason I can't see.
I will appreciate so much if u upload it here.
Thanks
I used to have Video Editor a few months ago, but it had gone from my Samsung Apps list, as has the photo editor released at the same time. Did anyone get the apk of the Samsung photo editor too?
Garbled meaning induced by swype when posting from XDA app on SGS I9000.
I have photo editor and video editor. Can't upload them with xda app though and i don't have any multiupload account etc.
I would think these are for sgs1 only but not much use if it FC all the time.

Hopefully they'll be OK here on Froyo. It was someone else who was commenting that the latest version of Video Editor (that came out on 18th May) are the ones to FC. Hopefully the previous versions will be fine. If you get a chance to upload them when not on your phone, that'd be awesome.
If they really aren't working on Gingerbread, presumably Samsung will update them again soon.
Not figured out why some people have them and other's don't. Must be regional, but I used to have them in there, but they vanished... along with loads of other apps a couple of months back.
What is the Photo Editor like? Is it any good?
Mike
Video esitor has never workes on gingerbread and ive tried from jvk to present.
Photo app is very limited, better to use photoshop express app.

Hey, has anyone managed to find a file in .apk format of the recently released alpha? they only way you can get it from mozilla's site is in a .install file, which, because of our darling At&t, we cant do anything with...
Got apk from here

I know it is alpha, but what are the thoughts so far on it? I find it very slow. I hope they can get gear monkey incorporated on this
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
They proboably won't start optimizing the code until it goes beta. Alpha is more about just getting the feature set right and making sure everything works moderatly well.
More than likely they re-used as much code as possible from the desktop variant (to get it going) which is def. not optimized for a mobile device.
It looks promising to me. I like the way tabs are handled and add-ons will be really cool if they ever take off (I need fire gestures).
Thanks for the link, dang you AT&T .........
It runs like crap, and fc randomly, dont know why they even released this to the puplic,
I will say this about, its much more functional than the pre alpha I've been testing the past couple weeks, certainly not ready for day to day use, but its nice to see mozilla making progress

I know it's alpha, but as soon as I load it it freezes. They aren't kidding about alpha, maybe they should list it as nearly operable.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 (My phone is having and identity crisis, it boots to an i9000 screen then a Vibrant screen then loads the captivate rom lol)
It looks like it will be cool with the weave sync and all. Unfortunately I can't get it to run for more than a min without a force close.I did visit gmail and it wa formatted for an old flip type phone and just text...not for a smart phone like we are use to setting with an android browser.

I don't even get an FC. App just dies randomly. Otherwise, it looks really nice. I'm digging the interface. Once it gets stable, this will be my default browser
I was looking for something in the app market and happened to run across this. Looks like a new update for Youtube. Seems like a little smoother interface and bit more finger friendly. Just figured I'd share!
The native YouTube app? Or are you talking about a 3rd party one?
I ask because I'm not getting an update notification. Since its one of my most used apps I'm definitely interested in any new improvements
The native app. I didnt get a notification for it either but it's def a different verision then what I had before. Try searching for it in the market.
I think it may be for 2.2 only.

I'm running Cog Beta 5.5. Which is 2.2.
But, it looks like it is completely separate than the YouTube app which comes pre installed on the captivate. Just downloaded, and so far I like it.
Here's the Appbrain
EDIT: It also allows you to edit the SafeSearch controls. Which I had heard previously Samsung (or ATT) disabled.

Can anyone else confirm this? I never got a backup so I don't want to upgrade unless this is true.

It definitely does let you edit the safe-search controls. First thing I did was turn them off
still cant watch a lot of music videos (thanks to VEVO) and a bunch of popular videos (worst dj ever) are still not viewable or searchable.
Have to use the regular Youtube site and use flash for those videos.
It clearly states on the AppBrain page that it is for 2.2 and up, so no dice for us Eclair users.

new and improved....
yeah,i downloaded this yesterday and i really like this version- the interface looks much better dark and i like that i have access to my channel when away from my computer...found out about the new youtube app through android central-no notification was sent to me since the captivate doesn't officially have 2.2?(i have the leaked 2.2 )
thanks for the headsup!!
New app looks awesome Thanks for the find.
Can someone please go to the new YouTube app (if you have it) go to settings and see what the application version is, please?

Really liking the new update. Again this is for 2.2 only, it didn't show up as an update to my current youtube app, but it did replace it once I downloaded and installed it.
Hopefully Google continues to add more and more of the stock apps to the market... one way to combat the horrors of Sense, TouchWiz, etc.

Confirmed working on my end.
Definitely an improvement but still can't comment from within the app which I hope they implement
Why cant i take portrait pics? If i take a portrait pic and try to upload to fbook it shows rotated. Is there any way to fix that?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Its a bug with some custom roms I've noticed. Should do the same when sending pictures as mms. Only temp fix is to rotate with adobe Photoshop app.
assonance 5.2
This isn't just with custom roms, it also occurs with my stock 2.1 Rogers Captivate. It's mildly annoying but I haven't bothered looking into a way to fix it. Unless I misunderstood your use of the term 'custom rom'.
Yeah I had this issue on my stock captivate and I haven't tried it now that I'm running a custom romantic thou, all I ended up having to do is rotate it on facebook after I had uploaded it.

I thought the SGStools camera.apk fixed this. I'll test and post results.
Update: I just tested it with the above mentioned apk, and my photo viewing app correctly honored exif orientation.
Im sorry english is not my first language...did it work??

Bump. Any fix for this? Any workaround?

Hello.
I had a simple question if someone has the time to answer it. I'm trying to look around for a different gallery apk than the default I'm using now.
As a bit of background information, I'm running Cognition 4.2.2. I don't like how this 3D gallery takes an eternity to load my images, and another annoyance is that it won't support GIF file playback, where previous versions had.
So I figured I'd ask the collective wisdom of XDA for some help. Any suggestions on where I can get a decent gallery app?
I use Quickpic from the market. You can also pull the previous version's apk (or from any rom that you think had a decent gallery apk) and install it into your current setup.
Awesome thank you for the suggestions. Ill try quikpic now.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Well, quickpic is a good gallery app. Still no GIF playback but its a step in the right direction. Anyone else have, some suggestions?

Nevermind. Doesn't work
If your Netflix app wont update heres the APK go to XDA home page and select Android Hacking then choose the one about games and stuff and there it will be . Sorry cant post link maybe someone on a computer could help.
If i helped you please thank me
I just upgraded to gingered 0.07 and tried installing netflix, only to find out that I need to update it before it will let me log in.
Please, if someone has the new apk, can you post it here so we can continue to use Netflix on our phones?
here's the link:

Forgot where I saw it first but I just edited build.prop to make the market think my phone was a nexus one and downloaded it directly. Worked every time.

I'd really appreciate a chance to try this out. Is it because I have less than 10 posts? It does say that that's just to post on the dev forum. I just want to download it.
dunno if it was a fluke for me, but i just Odin'd EG22 (Source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1184134) and searched Netflix in the stock marketplace app. Found that it wasn't blocked from the epic anymore. Figured i'd give that a try before running the modified versions. Found the app, and installed without a problem. Loads MUCH faster too. Came from EF02.
EDIT/ maybe my marketplace has been tweaked already?... didn't read anything about that and says its stock... anyways give it a shot

yeah, the app is downloadable from the market and it does work on my Epic running SRF 1.2 atop Genocide 1.1. the overall responsiveness is a bit sluggish, and only being able to access my instant queue is really annoying - you'd think an official Netflix app could have an actual means of managing you DVD queued - but streaming video absolutely works.
thanks, tried it out and works like a charm.
For some reason Netflix still has the poor quality buttons at the top of the app. I'm not sure if its suppose to be like that, but has anyone experienced that?
its not a big deal, just curious.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
The app buttons stink. But even the website buttons look screwy sometimes on Chrome. I think it's just Netflix not keeping their tech up to snuff. Maybe that's why they are changing the rates on their plans.
