Just installed the latest nightly of CM7. When I try to install gapps it goes to the bootloader and the progress bar fills maybe a third of the way, and then the phone reboots but none of the apps are on it. I've tried flashing from rom manager, and ive tried installing a market apk, but neither worked. Help, please?
Several people on cm7 have been having this issue lately especially with rom manager nightly update integration. If you read up on cm7 q&a sticky or development thread you may find a post that could help you. As I said several people have reported same issue and several people have tried to help. Check it out.

Hey everyone I noticed recently that my phone was not able to download applications from Market that are larger than 5MB each. I don't remember having this issue before and I noticed it about a week ago. Since then I've wiped and re-flashed the latest Cyanogen-Mod and updated to the new radio. I noticed it at first when trying to download Project INF from Chicken Brick Studios. Then again with Epocrates App. And the latest has been Drinkspiration by ABSOLUT. These are all free apps available on the market and they're larger than 5MB each. When I download it hardly begins the download then just states Download Unsuccessful. Like I said I don't remember having this issue before and every other app I download that's less than 5MB has no issue. I searched the forum and found nothing on the subject and was wondering if anyone else has the same issue or knows of a fix or if it's something on my end. Thanks for your help.
I've encountered this with some roms, usually I'd just try to re-download and watch the download page(in the tabs) to see if they actually downloaded. This normally happens with apps2sd(I dunno if cy's rom has it) but that might be your problem. I would recommend trying a different rom and see if this problem consists.
Thanks for the quick reply. I have apps2sd and i have encountered that issue that you're stating but this is a little different. Even if some apps hang at times they'll eventually download if I cancel download then restart the download. But everytime I've tried downloading an app that's more than 5MB it doesn't hang or even start the download at that. It just says download unsuccsessful. I've been trying for a week to download through wifi and 3g and edge networks and nothing. However if the app is less than 5mb large I have no issues at all with download and installation. Hope this clarifies a bit and I thank you all again for your help.

i have this problem too with the latest SuperD rom. every time i try to download the office soundboard it always says download unsuccessful.
I just found this information about the issue in Cyanogen Forums:
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?/topic/1263-download-aborted-not-enough-free-space-in-internal-storage/
This is the exact issue I'm having. I guess the issue is with the latest Cyanogen Mod version. I'd hate to wait until a new version is released. Does anyone know of a fix for this?
I just wiped my phone again and installed the old Cyanogen Mod v4.2.14.1 and I was able to download apps larger than 5mb with no problem. I then did a no-wipe flash to the newest Cyanogen Mod v4.2.15.1 and the issue is back again. So I confirmed the issue is with the newest update for Cyanogen. Is there any reason why the larger downloads don't work now with the new update? I'll check the newest changelog maybe it'll show something there.
Something in the latest version is apparently taking up more room on the cache partition or the cache partition is now smaller.
i recently noticed when i try to download any app from the android market or update an app it will act like its starting the download but then never actually start it. im running the latest cyanogen rom. i have tried wiping and reflashing the latest cyanogen rom and reflashing the google apps addon. i have tried restoring to a previous backup when the apps were working in the market. i have tried flashing a non cyanogen rom even. nothing i can think of (my thoughts are limited since im fairly new at all this) and still no success. i had the same problem on my g1 with cyanogen and i somehow managed to get that working again by trying similar things but no luck yet with my nexus one and its really upsetting me. any ideas on how i can go about fixing this? thanks for all your help. i have also tried uninstalling the market updates and signing into other google apps like talk to try and jump start it on the advice of someone from another forum.

Hey XDA,
I hate to bring this issue back up, but despite various threads in various forums, I have not found a solution that works for me. I'm running CM7 Nightly 35 (But have tried Others) Timat Kernel (Have also tried others) and no matter what I do, I can't seem to run the new market without a force close. Here's a few other things I've tried:
- Both versions of the new market
- Zipping and flashing from recovery (wouldn't flash)
- Fix permissions (recovery & Rom Manager)
- Cache wipe & Force Close in manage applications
- Clear Cache & Dalvik Cache in Recovery
- Countless Reboots
Anyone else still having this problem? Any advice from the pros (I'd rather not do a clean wipe),
Thanks!
This is crazy! Same stuff happening to my HD2 too. I've tried two different roms (Hyperdroid CM7, Typhoon Nightly) and BOTH force close on the new market! The only solution I've had is to uninstall the market's updates, and then I can only use it for 5 minutes until it updates again
*BUMP* - Really? I've seen this issue on boards for various other devices... Nobody has a theory?

afaik there is no one apk for all devices.
especially if the phone hasn't received an official update to the latest market it might take a while for the software to be developed.
why not take the time yourself to figure this one out?
EDIT: just downloaded unity rom 1.31, it has the new market and seems to work well.
Hey what's up guys.
I'm on the latest CM7.2 nightly/kang from here (temasek's kang, posted on CM7 official thread). Just randomly I noticed that the Market started to FC. It does not happen when I open it but it starts to happen when I click to view certain apps. I noticed this after the market asked me to 'accept' the terms again, which was weird. I tried wiping cache / dalvik, I also reflashed gingerbread gapps and the latest update of the rom. I even tried to fix permissions from recovery and still not luck. Any help would be much appreciated on how to possibly fix this again. Thank you!
Logcat coming soon.
I have a quick questions concerning the update to CM13:
(I'm running the latest 12.1 nightly, which is getting quite old I guess, so I read in the developer forum that the latest CM13 build are running quite well, but I'm not really sure how to update..)
- In the developer forum I seem to understand it's recommended to download the nightly, also download gapps and install both before booting again, right?!
- But - will I keep my data, apps, settings?
- Do I have to take care of sth else? (I already made a nandroid backup and copied the sd card)
- I'm also unsure because the CM updater just offers me the newest CM13 nightlies .... could I just click on install there?!!?!
(Hope it's okay to ask these questions )
Yes, you could just install CM 13 from the updater and lose nothing. However it is recommended to wipe the device, then install CM 13.
THanks for help, it didn't work as easy yesterday. (I had to flash cm-13.0-20160119-NIGHTLY-victara and open_gapps-arm-6.0-nano-20160120 in TWRP manually, or maybe just the gapps manually because before that CM would "optimize apps" until it would reboot again, it never stopped. After flashing nano gapps it worked somehow...)
But today I destroyed everything again, :crying:
I clicked on the cm-13.0-20160120-NIGHTLY-victara update from within CM (CM updater)
It went to TWRP, applied the update, rebooted and since then it is in this bootloop again, I had yesterday
but flashing gapps doesn't fix it today
- someone got an idea how to fix this?; the most thing I care about are the new Messages in Whatsapp Messenger I didn't read before clicking on the update ... is there a way to keep them? (For example, if I back up /data now, wipe my phone, install CM13, restore /data ... would this work?!)
it would be great if someone could help me, I read the forums, but so far nothing I tried worked.
(I tried flashing todays nightly, yesterdays, my last step was wiping /system and then installing CM, gapps ... but it stays in this bootloop)
Sorry for being a newbie; if there's no help, please just tell me that there's no way to get back my unread messages, then I'll wipe and start from scratch :crying:
I somehow managed to boot once again, backup my Whatsapp data, then I wiped everything, made a clean install and everything was fine exept some data loss ..
(If someone has the same problem I might have some tips, but I'm not sure)
Until it started to bootloop again
But I think I know what my problem was and is. Back in CM12.1 I had the Google Search app "deactivated", after the update to CM13 ... I think I deactivated it again and that's what caused the endless boot.
(I just tried it again now after an backup, it's the cause, I hope after restoring the backup I didn't destroy everything again
But ... is this okay behavior? Back in CM12 I could disable Google Search without problems..
- Should I report this somewhere? Where? or is it not important?
- Would there be a way to "activate" Google Search from outside the OS?
