Cm7 contacts restore - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yesterday I went from tweaky rom to Cm7, but now all my contacts are gone. I backed them up with Titanium Backup but they don’t show up after a restore. Anyone knows what to do?

I had EXCATLY same problem, and I think you cant restore them, (unless they are on your SIM-card)
Its becouse CM7 is 2.3.4 imo...
Flash 2.3.3 rom and your contacts will come back

Is there an 2.3.3 version of cm(7) that I can use?

Same situation here. Thinking of going back 2.3.3 to export my contacts then back to CM7 and import them. Gonna get my friend to help me with his SGS, might save me some flashings?
Is there anyway like..converting/extract contacts.db?

Nandroid backup with c5

Hey guys I would like to try out the new perception, but I really like c5. Does anyone know if I can do a back up in cwm and flash perception, then come back and restore c5? I don't want to do anything that isn't tested yet with the gb bootloaders. Thanks ahead of time.

I flashed continuum 5 then perception2(gb) and restored backup then back to perception2(gb) to then install update... If it is perception 2 then your alright cause they are both gb boitloaders just dont restore a captivate rom

How to Unlock SGH-I896 w/ CM7 (latest nightly/stock bootloaders)

Hi,
I need to send my Captivate to a friend out of Canada and need to unlock the device. I'm running the latest CM7 nightly w/ glitch kernel v12 and stock 2.2 bootloaders. Any way to unlock it while on CM7? Or is it necessary to Odin back to stock?
Thanks.

Does reflashing CM9 rom rebuild simlink?

Noob question: Does reflashing the rom rebuild the datadata-data/data simlink? Thanks.

Did you flash the datafix.zip?!?! Why would you do that it was for ICSSgS

Just installed chrome beta and was starting to run into memory issues. I was pondering flashing the alternate fix that was just posted in the CM9 thread. I wanted to be able to easily revert if it slowed down my phone. I haven't done anything yet.
Thanks

Don't do it if your on THS ICS, only ICSSGS. And if you flash it again it will rebuild the symlinks...

Thanks.

To answer your original question. Reflashing the rom will restore any symlink. But Demonwav's zip should auto restore, but keep in mind it was made for ICSSGS wich is different.

[REQ]Stock APPS?

Anyone have a collection of all the stock apps for the captivate? Like the one called AllShare (I think) and some more.
Any would be greatly appreciated!

Um I believe the stock firmware for the captivate was Froyo... if you have that it would be nice but gingerbread will suffice.
Sorry my internet been down. Will look this weekend. If not I flash my phone back to stock and pull apps. Is there a app u are looking for?

Returning to stock

Hi all,
Thinking of selling my i9000 soon (to upgrade to an S3), before I sell it. I'd like to return it to a stock rom and unroot it (currently on CM9), which stock rom should I use? How do I unroot it, and how do I remove all my personal information?
Thanks in advance
Rob

Thanks! Do I need to use a PIT and repartition? Are there any things to look out for since I'm going from ICS to GB, or is it just the same as flashing any other Odin ROM?
Sorry for all the questions
There is no problem to go back to gb from ics if you use odin.just flash it and you are done.

Excellent! I read somewhere a while back that there was, must have misread it...
Thanks!

I thought that it is not that easy because some ICS use different filesystems.
If you want to get back to gb custom rom it's difficult.odin is used to flash official firmware.

Ahh, because I would be using CWM for most custom ROMs?

There is no issue ,use odin to go back to unrooted gb and then root it and install whatever rom you want.

This one will help you. As I said it is not that easy and needs some patience from you, but you will succeed.
