Hello,
First of all i love the site , My Kaiser is now pumped up with some of the best software that you guys have recommened, My Fav software so far is the HTC Album with the Gesture comands (Very Iphone )
This leads me onto my only gripe and was hoping some one could help me
the question is - "Is there any decent Gesture based web Browsing software?" either in the works or already availble?
I have moved onto using OPRA, i really like it but can't seem to get to grips with zooming in or out (is it at all possible)
thanks in advance

If zooming in/out is what you need, you may want to take a look at Opera Mini, particularly with the latest improvements (see the Wiki / the General forum for them)
use the piscel viewer, it is EXACTLY the same as the iPhone browser. I ripped it off the new verizon samsung phone and it works great. Let me know if you need the cab.
It's spelled 'picsel', but I agree that it's a sweet little web browser that acts very similarly to the iPhone browser.
It was posted in the Hermes forum awhile back and I grabbed it then. Good thing, cuz you can't find it anywhere anymore.

Hi,
i played this weekend with a couple android devices and i liked the contact app on the samsung galaxy tab. is it possilbe to get it on the desire, or is it special made from/for samsung?

i think it's the same as in the SGS...the contact application is very nice..it allows you to swipe right or left in order to make a call or send a sms.. i think if there is a way to import this in to DHD it would be very nice
and i also like the style and layout, but will probably look very tiny on the small display of the dhd.
but i like it. better than the htc one....
Its basically like the iPad's contact app, in landscape mode it shows the contact list down the left side and when a contact is selected it fills the right hand side of the screen with the contacts details. Is that what your after?
yep,
i also like contapps, like the portrait view with the name under it, but unforunately it sorts the contacts only by first name and i would like to have it with last name...
Im not a massive fan of contapps, however i can see the appeal. i would definatly like the Tab's contact app though, and i think with the DHD's 4.3 inch screen, it would work pretty well.
right now contapps is buggy, but i like the idea, the design is a diffrent story, but maybe they enable themes...i like the facebook integration in cotapps more than with the standard dhd people app and facebook for thc sense, because, this f**** always messes up my contact pictures...
i just would like to have the "updates" from facebook not the pictures and anything...
but i think the conact app from the galaxy tab is only for samsung...its not a open app for everybody....
Off, u can always override pic of contacts in edit mode, htc sense.
-- sent from htc z using xda app
yes i can overide it until the next sync, than i have all this nice facebook pictures back from facebook for htc sense or twitter for htc sense...*bullsh..*
i am looking for a goot contacts app who still does integrate stuff like facebook and twitter but let me choose what to do. like in contapps, i can choose which picture gets overwritten by the facebook one...twitter is not yet integrated, but i like the foursquare integration too...
i even looked at sony eriscson xperia 10 today, the integration of the networks look better there, but i could test if it does the same overwritting like htc facebook.
Had a unpacked (preproduction) Galaxy Tab rom laying around from my Galaxy S days (Way.. back) Here's the contact app from it, I assume it doesn't run on the DHD, but who knows, maybe someone can make it work
I don't know how to get it running on the DHD. If you have questions, please contact the Samsung or HTC Helpdesk

Hi team,
Nice app you have there. I like the way you advertise it on your website.
"Dude, I’m so
bored with my mobile
contacts…"
"Try contapps,
it’s free!"
Lol... keep up the great work.
EDIT: in dutch your app and company name sounds a bit funny. In dutch "kont" means "ass" .The pronunciation of "cont" is the same as "kont" in dutch, so in Dutch it sounds like ass apps
I suggest a fusion with a company named "kick" for the dutch app market

What do you mean, cannot be uninstalled? Everything can be uninstalled.
Edit: Like your signature. Great one.

You're right. I was a bit to quick. Probably because I assumed beforehand that it cannot be installed.
anyone tried to push it via adb? might try it when i get home
any1 had any luck?
Just trying contapps, very nice i have a few suggestions which i think would work nicely
Using contapps too, but I don't like that I cant sort the contacts by last name and it shows me a lot of the items twice, like home and work address, birthday and so on, I think it's because, I have all my contacts in phone and synced with google too. also would like to link the contacts with other social sites and an overview of it in the info section

having websites look identical or even pretty across all browsers is a difficult if not impossible task. Try other browsers on your Tab to see how browsers influence appearance, try Dolphin, Opera and Opera Mini.
If by my site you mean one that you designed, learn how to better cope with different browsers when doing website programming. It is a huge undertaking.
Remember first that HTML is NOT a page description language. You want that, try PDF. It is designed to describe content and its organization, NOT details of appearance. It is the browser's job to determine appearance depending on other factors that the designer doesnt control, like display device, or user preferences.
So, for those of you who haven't seen the "Introducing Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1" video Samsung recently posted to YouTube, then you should probably check it out here before reading onwards into this post. There are two features highlighted greatly within the video which really interest me, but unfortunately there is no reason frankly nor monetary backing for me to get a tablet (hence why I purchased an all-in-one device such as the Note), and these are the Learners' Hub and the split-screen multitasking shown. Can I download this hub and get it working on my Note and is there any way to split the screen to view multiple apps on my Note's screen at the same time?
Update
UPDATE: Found "Learning Hub" by Samsung on Samsung Apps. It hasn't got a great selection, but could prove useful for studying history (which I am doing) for example. Just want to split the screen for multitasking so that I can copy information from a web-page to S-Note easy and stuff like that. I saw a calculation somewhere that the Note's screen split in half landscape would give you two 3.6 inch screens, which is the same size as the iPhone's screen.
Does it only work on stock ICS?

You need the Samsung Apps store to download it, so probably. It is quite useful for a bit of learning - there are even a fair few free books.

I anticipate that if the demand is high enough, it's only a matter of time before a dev implements a port of these features to the galaxy note.
Hey guys!
I would like to ask if someone knows how to invert the colours of pages in Chrome.
First of all, it would be better for our Amoled screens/ batteries and secondly, for our eyes.
Changing browsers is not an option for me since I'm totally dependant on the sync feature of Chrome.
The Flags trick doesn't seem to work for me and I don't have the Accessibility toggle.
Thanks in advance.
The best method and most importan is READ... yo have all the info in the forum search.
How do you think I've came up with the Accessibility and Flags Ideea? I've read first some Google search results, than xda forums. These solutions don't seem to work on the actual version of Chrome. Admittedly I didn't search the EDGE+ thread, thinking that it isn't the only AMOLED DEVICE around and not only people with amoled want this.
I've also read that there are some browsers that implemented this technology, but I really enjoy/need Chrome.

Well... you have to read better... in the edge section are a especial thread for social themes.
Thanks for your help. They'll come in really handy.
