[APP] Honeycomb music player :)

I've been playing with this player a few days now and it seems to be working pretty damn well for a leaked version. I found it off google when it was leaked. The UI is amazing
I saw it come up in the epic 4g section when i made this post. I did a search and couldn't find it in the captivate theme/app section so I'd thought I post it here. Enjoy.

isn't that the gingerbread MP? i dont think ANYTHING from honeycomb is released/known about

I'm not sure. When I found it it was labeled honeycomb.

This player is pretty cool. Not to fond of the UI colors and such but with a little work it'll be nice, dark, and perfect.

Dang! How to install it? It won't let me because it's Music app, how can I install it if I already have a stock music app? Some adb push?

Yeah, I'm fairly certain this is from Gingerbread. It's definitely a slick UI though.
I just launched the .apk to install. My phone now has two Music apps, but that might not be a bad thing in case this new one acts up.

from what iv read in the nexus s forum the best way is to adb push it and also delete or move the old music.apk. they are getting a lot of force closes over there if not done correctly so it could be hit or miss for now.

i have a nexus s and i can confirm this is not from gingerbread just a heads up.

it's an apk file you can drop it in systems. You can have both players running at the same time and set one as default. I haven't had any issues so far running both

lol it probably is. But I didn't get it from i9000 forum i got it off some random website after a google search, couldn't remember where.

The music gets choppy when I do anything while playing music with this MP. The stock 2.2 and miui MPs work fine though. Good thing its just a leak

Yes... how are you supposed to sync with your pc library? I have some music on my card but its not finding anything now. I would also like that album view but it doesnt display like the screenshots you posted.

I believe it's supposed to sync with Google's cloud system so you don't have to have your music with you but still be able to listen to it.

my music only shows up when not in landscape mode. strange. i see artists and albums but no songs.

[APP] "TV SHOWS FREE", suck it hulu

The new TV app called "TV SHOWS FREE"
So I just came across this nifty little app that apparently has on demand episodes of a very very large volume of shows. Little ad box at the bottom of the screen, but acceptable for just TV shows here and there.
WiFi recommended. Maybe if we had real 4G it wouldn't be necessary...

I only wish that it didnt display so many cool shows that dont really exist. It does have many shows available but its hit and miss.

note the OP is written poorly, doesnt include the title of the app. its called "TV SHOWS FREE" not TV app.

sometimes for tv out to work you must switch the yellow and white cable, depending on who made it.

[Q] What music apps do you use?

Just wondering what new music apps are out there. I tried a lot of the "big" music players (poweramp, 3 cubed,mortplayer, meridian, playerpro, winamp ,doubletwist..etc) and i'm kinda bored with them. I would like them to have good features (eq,album art, etc) and and a good ui but that's about it.

Only thing I really use is Google Music, other than that I use deadbeef. Though Winamp is a close second for me.
Like you, I've tried a few music apps here and there, but (not surprisingly) none even come close to what you can do on a computer.
And btw... It doesn't seem like you meant to post this in the Dev section so I'm not going to flame you for that
But you should pm deca or whoever is our mod to get this moved

It's the whole package for me. It has great themes, 5 or 6 different widgets, a custom status bar while playing music, it shows album art as the background on the now playing screen, and a ton of other stuff. It's just really well designed and very fast and smooth on my hero. I've been using it since closed beta.
It's minimalist when you first install it but slap a theme on it (win7 theme is a good free one) and go through the settings to activate the advanced features and you can't beat it. And its newer to the market with a great dev so its gonna get more features in the future.

[UPDATED] [APP] Netflix 360, Honeycomb optimized (from HC enabled market app)

I'm getting tired of the slow scrolling and choppy behavior of apps that shouldn't be. Here is the Netflix app, latest, I think, that I modified to be optimized for Honeycomb. Basically just improves overall app performance.

Can someone confirm
I tend to trust the members of XDA quite a lot, however, I'm not going to blindly install this apk. Can anyone confirm that it works?

I'm scared to login as well. The login bars arent misaligned like the account stealing Netflix APk reported to be floating around but I'm still nervous. Has anyone tried this? I'm sorry I'm questioning your work, it probably is fine and a great job done, you just can't be too cautious these days.

You know what's legit? The actual market provided app. It's easy enough to get the APK from a backup on a device that supports it.

If you installed any netfix apk on the xoom then let me make you just a little more paranoid! Did you get the other from the market? I didn't think so.......hmmmmm wonder who got you login from that version? Lol!

Actually I did get it from the Market. Came off my Droid X2.

Not you! The people that got from XDA thread! Like me! OMG someone may be watching Netflix with my info!! No j/k. The app is fine. Don't know why everyone is so scared these days. I locked my CC with Netflix so you can't just go in and change it with the app or online. Have to have more info to make any changes.

If you look through all of mrschmitz's posts on xda you will see he also optimized a nasa app for honeycomb and has contributed some dev work on multiple other things.
Always good to be paranoid with this sort of thing, but I would say it is probably safe.

Installed it. Video quality seemed to be better. Cam on here to read the comments and got paranoid at removed the app. Waiting for confirmation that this is ok, although i already logged on with the new app so if it was fake it would be too late right?

Doesn't work in Canada just like every other apk out there. Prompts me to update and says visit there bull**** website. A tablet and no Netflix...

App works great for me, Netflix is much smoother now.

ICS on the Droid 3 (video)

So the holiday and some extra debugging delayed this a bit.

It's more a matter of finding what is broken and then researching for fixes or coming up with the best fix you can.

Overlays are a bit odd.. hit the home key to make them show up better. (crash messages with the "ok" button for example).

Ignoring the obvious continuous crashes from background processes you'll have to let me know how you think the new OS "feels". For me it was snappy. It'll be easier to guage on the next version.

Yeah man I was just about to reply and say despite the crashes this super smooth... blows GB away IMO. Keep it up!

Awesome, but, still far from my XT860.

This is honestly one of the best ports I've seen so far for a Motorola phone. Yeah, of course it needs some work to be used like a regular rom, but not near as much work as the other phones. You obviously have hw acceleration down, thats the biggest problem IMO right there! Good work.

I had to flash back before my battery dropped too low but it worked here. Jelly seemed to have much better luck than I did - my screens were all funky. I'll retry it soon once I'm charged and have more time to fiddle.

Nice, from the look of the video its fast but not that stable yet. Keep up the good work, I would definitely pay/donate if we get a stable ICS ROM out someday.
