Help please. - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

well, I may be just out of luck, but I think mine is bricked, it simply will not start, no recovery mode, no screen, nothing. Did Odin, and this is the result:

So, do I now have a doormat?

Sounds like just a soft brick. Flash stock. I don't know about the galaxy tab but search how to force download mode and flash stock

I would usually agree. What you are not aware of is I cannot get the Tab to turn on let alone go into download mode. Maybe there is a unique trick to turn it on?

I am in the same situation here. If you charge the tab for 10-20 mins and then hold the power down for around 10 seconds it should power up. However, I get the write failed no matter what I flash...

Have you tried to charge it?
| Don't Revive Me Bro! |

a) edit title of topic so that its descriptive (per rules). "help please" etc is a ridiculous title of a subject.
b) Just keep it charging for a good while or over night then put it into download mode and try again.

Kind of interested what made you think it has to be com7?
It can be any - mine is 11.
they saw the tutorial on youtube.
there can be any com port, theres no requirement for the com to be number 7 .
Ah I watched a youtube video. Anyway im using the JM2 firmware from samsung-firmwares.com and when I flash it doesnt even start, just says fail. Ive checked im using everything in the right place but it says this:

Check your USB Drivers. See if you can see the device in the Device Manager.
If its frozen now just unplug and turn your phone on and off.
Ok so now it shows an icon of a phone connecting to a PC with a danger sign in the middle, no matter if I turn it off or not. Is it bricked or what can I do?
Also it doesnt show up when I plug it back in...#
And now it has frozen again when I try to update the firmware -.-

Did you flash with the correct PIT file?
Yeah the 512.pit. Now whenever I try to flash it doesn't get beyond file analysis...
Also, what is a 512 pass?

No idea what a 512 pass is.
How long are you waiting for the flash to complete? On some firmwares it can take a long time (5 minutes or so). What settings have you changed in odin?
Your device may also have a hardware fault.
Well it was working fine before I tried to flash it. I would wait for the flash to complete but it does nothing but sit there at this point:

It does not get further than this. There is no blue bar indicating flash progress or anything, it only stays here.
take off your battery and re-enter the download model, that is my way to get it fixed.
Thanks for your help, I have, but like I said it gets stuck on file analysis...
Thanks guys! I fixed it by running Odin in compatability for XP SP3 and also as an admin. Flash in progress, should work soon

what the hell is this?!?! HELP! =O
I think you resolved this in another thread.
Please don't cross thread as it confuses people.
I know that, thanks ancient. I'm posting updates on all threads i've asked for help... just 2 though
I was able to return to download mode and flash correctly using odin.
The trick to return to download mode was plugging in the battery WITH volup+power already pressed.....
Thanks to everyone!

Can you explain exactly the whole process you did?
I still can't get the flashing process to work. I'm able to enter download mode but when it comes to flashing, it says:

Hey everyone! im not going to fake anything here. just got this phone 3 days ago and finally feeling up to flashing my phone via odin however im completly and utterly stuck. Ive read up to put it in download mode (volup + voldown + power) and im on a screen that has "android system recovery <2e>" with some options and then at the bottom "manual mode"
i already had odin open and then connected the usb cable.. odin seems to recoginize it...
<ID:0/006> Added!!
<ID:0/006> Odin v.3 engine (ID:6)..
<ID:0/006> File analysis..
but this is all that happens after i click start.. ive read multiple threads and how-to's and its almost like magic that suddenly it just "works" out of the blue for people. am i missing something important here? any help would be great for this newbie from a tilt2
You are in the wrong mode. Vol up + vol down + power is the wrong combo. Try vol down + home + power!

Lol, that voice was voodoo lagfix converting partitions from rfs to ext4 that was supposed to happen.
So do i just let it on?

if u want ur phone to feel faster, thats lagfix
Yes just let it go, it will boot when its finished, take about 5 minutes

You flashed Serendipity correctly. Those voices are Voodoo Lagfix doin' it's thing, and it's all part of the first installation process for that ROM. As a future note, when you do install a custom ROM, be patient for the first boot. It's completely normal for a phone to take 5+ minutes for the first time after a flash.
I'm totally unclear about the rest, because you didn't do a great job of describing your problem and what exactly you did after flashing Serendipity.
After flashing serendipity i wanted to overclock...So i got various kernel managers(until i got one that worked) so i could flash my kernel...Its weird because i was playing with serendipity....it didnt do that on the initial boot...its seems like the kernel flash is the one that caused this?
Yes the kernel you flashed had voodoo lagfix in it.
LOL i feel stupid...I have been surfing xda for years now and you guys are so informative i never had to post a question... I really searched for this problem but, as i see now its not a problem.... I really appreciate everyone's lightning fast responses... I knew you guys would never disappoint.... Thanks again!
Its been running for like 15 mins... is that normal?
You should probably odin back to stock and try again

Also serendipity already has an oc kernel, just flash the rom and get setcpu app and set it up1200 max 200 min, and you should be good

[Q] Please help, I've bricked my Tab(?)

Hello,
I had a galaxy tab, running android 2.2.1
I've rooted it succesfully with superoneclick, and now I want to install a CM10 rom.
CWM isn't installed yet, so I wanted to install a custom kernel, the overcomekernel v. 4.0.0 through odin.
That failed:

Thanks
Thread moved. Please make sure when you post you do so in the correct sections. All questions belong here in Q&A.
Thanks

Your tab is not bricked (yet).
I suppose it's in download mode, so you can use odin/heimdall to flash stock rom.
You can use overcome guide to install overcome kernel then:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1881981
Afterwards you should be able to use CWM to install CM10, available here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1869477
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1871113
Restock to stable 2.3.3. And search xda a lot before posting.

Odin Issues

I'm currently trying to flash the stock firmware onto my GS6, but every time I get:
Code:
<ID:0/007> Odin engine v(ID:3.1005)..

<ID:0/007> Complete(Write) operation failed.

I've tried multiple USB cables and ports. It sits on SetupConnection for around 5 minutes before saying the operation failed.
