[REQ] Live Wallpaper - Nexus S Themes and Apps

Hello. Would anyone be interested in turning this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0rkc1fLuNU&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Into a live wallpaper for me please? Much appreciated if you decide to do it. Thanks.
Sent from my Nexus S running NSCollab, Cyanbread Theme and OC'd to 1.2ghz (Perfection)

if you download 'video live wallpaper' and get the video downloaded from youtube, you can enable it yourself!

It definitely already exists, I've seen it elsewhere (can't remember where now, unfortunately) if you want to search around you should find it.

Yea I've tried the one that already exists and it kept FC'in on me. Tried Video Live Wallpaper but makes the framerate slow.

ben, I will download the HD version of it and give it a go, I am playing with them at the moment for VLW, and got the pattern down pat, I will put a link up once done.
Video Live Wallpaper is pretty easy, set the video output of anything that converts from anything (avi usualy) to 3gp. I use Xilisoft 3gp Converter (free version), it's limited to 3mins, but that's more than enough for a live wallpaper.
I make sure the video when converted is 29.97fps, 960 x 800 in res, with no letterboxing and no audio. Bit rate set to 256 as well.
That generates a file between 20 and 30mb usually, and it's very clear, nice and smooth and not TOO big.
You could try downloading the one directly from the youtube page, and rename it to .3gp and see what happens.

Thank you very much!

Since I have a limit of when I can post links, I will go spam some other crap on the forums so I can reply with links to get it and the VLW app.

No I'm trying to download it to my phone and it comes up as a text file. Would be good if it was an actual live wallpaper instead of using Video Live Wallpaper because it looks really good.

I Love dr. who.
I want this wallpaper.
I Think it'd be better to make it into boot animation rather than wallpaper.

I'm trying to get a simple port of my flat theme working on MDPI devices running CM6.1.0 RC1. It is just the notification bar and icons, no animations, lockscreen or ability to change the lockscreen background.

Thanks for having a look, I'll re-up it when I get the chance. Are you using the CyanogenMod 6.1.0 RC1 ROM? This is the ROM I've built the framework on.
Also the zips are not signed so you need to flash without checking for verification.

PS. I can make I you a set of blue icons if you like. What is the hex code for your text settings?

Thanks, that would be very cool. I have been trying to get a set of blue icons using UOT kitchen. But I've not been overly keen on the results.
The hex code is 1B70E0
I really like some of your over work, in particular the scrolling wallpaper and dock you have done for hdpi devices. Any chance of seeing this for mdpi?

Try this.
As for the scrolling wallpaper its just a bit of maths;
Your screen is 320x480 therefore you wallpaper will be 640x480.
If you set 6 home-screens then it will scroll by 320/5 = 64 pixels.
Make a background that is 640x480 and put a stripe every 64 pixels. 6 home-screens should then scroll the width of each stripe.
Alright..too much procrastination for me today...
Hope you enjoy, If you like it can you post a screeny? Can I use your screens on my blog?

I've signed the zip and it flashed OK, if it's OK with ClassicalGas I'll upload it for those of us still on AmonRa's recovery.
The theme is looking good, not noticed any problems so far, I will go through and test as much as I can and report back

Is it the zip or the apk which needs signing?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
You just need to sign the zip. I have added a zip for AutoSign, very simple to use just rename the target zip 'update.zip', extract the autosign.zip into a folder and put the target zip in it as well and run the exe. I have also added the update zip for the Ubuntu fonts if anyone wants them.
Just out of curiosity, are you planning on porting the other parts of the theme (lock-screen, dialogue boxes e.t.c) or is this purely a notification bar port? Either way, great for the MDPI devices to get some love!

I still can't get it to sign for some reason, I have heard there could be issues with Windows 7 and signing. Do you mind if I send new Hero stuff to you to sign?
I am wanting to port everything over eventually, but it will take a bit of time and it depends on the interest received from the MDPI users here.
Gas
I'll definitely give this a whirl when 6.1 goes stable (RC1 was a mess for me, dunno why). Figures, your theme is about exactly what I had wanted back in September while I was doing the WinPhone7 theme-y thing x]

the only way any lwp could be a real "battery drainer" is if u spend a lot of time with ur screen on sitting on ur home screens, a lwp isnt actively using battery if ur in an app other then ur launcher or if ur screen is off
Anyone notice that when your battery is low there are less microbes and they seem to move slower?
is it possible to install this on a non rooted Epic 4G?

Nope. It's only for a limited time. I don't regret buying it during its launch sale either. You should go buy it from the Android Market, it's a really spectacular keyboard.
You have a 15 minute refund window if you don't like it but I honestly don't think 15 minutes is enough and SwiftKey shouldn't disappoint.

Yeah. That's one thing I had problems with when I first used it but you could disable it if you wanted to. Like I would press period then space and it would autocomplete a word. You could disable it if you want, but I think in the long run it'll be worth it.
And nope. No themes, before SwiftKey X I used Smart Keyboard Pro which allowed people to make custom themes. It was really accurate but SwiftKey was just too amazing to pass up. I miss it but ehh, the neon theme looks cool. There are 3 different themes in the app/keyboard.
Not going to lie though, SwiftKey X makes me love my phone & tablet more especially the tablet version, its amazing with the split keyboard.
Yea it is cool. Glad I got it now.

gotta say this is a lot faster than typing on swype.
word prediction is a huge upgrade, i constantly have to make corrections on swype whereas having the "learning" function makes things a lot easier in swiftkey
I feel like this keyboard has slow down lil bit my phone and I check by unstalling. And it was slowing my phone. Was using 44 MB of the ram
But keyboard is great nice looking

I don't understand why,....
Swift X gives itself rights to:
- read SMS or MMS stored on your device or SIM card
- full Internet access
-Allows an application to create network sockets.
- Phone calls: determine the phone number and serial number of this phone, etc.
- modify/delete USB storage contents modify/delete SD card contents
None of these are necessary other than for the application to send information from your phone to their servers....and they make you pay for collecting just say usage info? No opt-outs, inadequate privacy and TOS leave me in a position to keep saying no to this type of app.
Even with a rooted phone and a good firewall....why??? Am I missing something?

Read SMS: uses SMS to add words and predictions to dictionary
Internet access: You can login to Facebook/twitter and learn from Facebook posts and tweets
Network sockets: see above
Phone calls: almost all apps use this, most likely do disable internet connection
Modify SD: to save predictions.
you can opt out of the internet access by not setting up facebook/twitter integration.
