Hey guys,
Be honest, which of these three launcher do you prefer and WHY?
1.) ADW.Launcher (not EX)
2.) LauncherPro (not plus)
3.) Go Launcher EX
Which one do you guys use and why?

Personally I like the stock Launcher2. You may find this thread helpful even though it's a bit dated: [Poll] New Launcher...
I have LPP, I think without the plus you just don't get the widgets??? (I don't use them anyway).
I tried ADW a while ago and I like LP, but I didn't find TOO much difference. I find LP to basically be stock but has more features (transitions, landscape). It's fast, and for me, like I said, I just keep it looking mostly like stock.
In adw you could resize Widgets while in launcher pro (free) you can't. That is sort of a big thing. In the other hand you don't get screen transitions in adw. Go launcher takes paid thing from both and makes it free. I try all of them but I find myself changing them constantly.
Which do you guys prefer?

But it really is personal preference. I personally love ADW (and love ADW EX even more which I bought to support the dev... the extra features are just a bonus). I find it much better and more intuitive than both the stock launcher in Android and Launcher Pro. I have never tried Go EX because I am perfectly happy with what I have. Certain options may be a must-have for some, while others will never use it (like I never use widget resizing).
I know many people who can't stand ADW and love Launcher Pro. There is no quantifiable proof saying one is better than the other that applies to everyone. It is like saying Sense is better than stock. For some it is, for some it isn't (I can't stand Sense, but my buddy misses it even though he loves CM7 more than his stock experience). The same goes for MIUI vs CM.
This is the beauty of Android. There isn't just one cookie cutter design that everyone has to learn to live with. You can try different things and make the decision for yourself (or constantly change if you can't make a decision).

Of course it's personal preference. A good example is that I don't care about resizing widgets. No widgets I use need to be resized. I, personally, don't prefer those kinds of widgets. But I can see how someone else might.

If I had a tablet with 3.1, I'd put up some widgets and resize them, but on my phone I just prefer to open an app.
BUUUT, to me that's the point of a thread like this. Get everyone else's personal preference, and decide which one best suits your needs.

I would reword your reply (or original post) saying that you don't want people to JUST say it is personal preference. And that you are wondering the reasons why people prefer the launcher that they do.
The way you asked made it seem like you were looking for a definitive "best" launcher, which there isn't one launcher that will fill that for everyone.
Number 2 becuz its so customizable and it fits what i want

Now that i've finally tried it i can't believe i waited so long to install Launcher Pro. It really is so much better than the other Launchers i've used. Launcher Pro is to Launchers what Cyanogenmod is to ROMs.

In term of 'free' features, which has more. ..(not including go ex)
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
What I like in a launcher is speed going to all apps, back home, going to menu... I hate when it lags and redraws the icons or something.
I've been using go ex for a while and now I've changed to launcher pro and now I think I'll try Zeam (looks like the lighter).
In term of features I think ADW is the one with more options
GO launcher EX
Reasons:
1) allows you to create folders in you app drawer.
2) allows you to hide apps from the app drawer ( i think launcher pro does too)
3) you can do gestures on the home screen
4) scrollable dock with as many as 3 rows
5) you can have notifications on the dock

I just cant decide which one is the best. I prefer the pinch preview feature that launcher pro has. Works almost like sense ui's, but I like everything else on adw. Mainly the docks and functionality tweaks in the preferences menu. Launcher pro is a bit more snappy, but the pinch preview has gotten me hooked. But the sense ui scroll bouncing is way way better on adw. It gels mute like sense when I scroll. which do you prefer?

I like them both alot .....been using ADW for quite sometime,,,,back when you had to flash it before it was in market ....but now that Launcher Pro allows you to modify the app launchers I am starting to like it more .....
but now i just keep them both installed
I been using adw since it was a flashable zip as well. I remember emailing anderweb about putting it on the market. Still a great app, but launcher pro has upped the ante on better functionality.

I really like launcher pro....I tried Adw but thought laucher pro was visually nicer and faster.
They are both great launchers, I have both installed but currently using ADW. I think, at this point, the scales are tipped toward ADW for me. But you really can't go wrong either way, both great devs and they work in cooperation with each other helping with each others work to make it better. How awesome is that?
Using ADW and haven't tried LP yet.

Well if that's the case, then they need to combine their apps and create the ultimate masterpiece. their pretty much very similar in many ways. The two seem like fragments of what the apps are supposed to be. They just need to bring the two together and form like voltron!! they'll take over the market together.

The developer has acknowledged some kind of problem with the market. You can download the apk from his website. I cannot post links but it is

Awesome! Thanks dude!
launcher pro!!!
it even has the option to make it look like AWD launcher!!
hahaah.. pwnage
Im on the launcher pro bandwagon. Its much better performancE wise. The main thing I like about adw is that 6 icon retractable dock and the way it scrolls. Feels just like sense when you configure it properly. It lags a lil tho. Lp is a lil more reliable, although it had its lags in some areas as well.

Can't use LauncherPro b/c it requires Android 2.1 but ADW Launcher is great, and the latest version has the pinch-preview desktop switching now too.
Adw and launcher pro are now tied in my book.

Currently using adw, was using lp for a long time. Main reason for adw or lp is the ability to customize the appearance if you're home screen.
I use launcher pro because it has the most features, after the most recent update 8.3 which has home screen animations. It also gives you a lot of dock custimization abilities (swipe actsions)
I would recommend using all three, and deciding since its a personal choice.
I tend to go with launcher pro since it does not allow to uninstall an app from home screen or from apps list.
Was using ADW earlier, but stopped using since the update that let an app be uninstalled with a long press on that in the home screen.
I'm currently using HeLauncher... pretty sweet!

I'm currently using Zeam and really like it. I did really enjoy Go Launcher but I was having force closes, not sure if it was Go launcher or not but I haven't had any since I switch. If they update to remove some bugs, I may go back. LauncherPro was really good too. ADW seemed kind of drab to me but I'm not sure.
All about Zeam imo. Great light-weight launcher (actually makes the phone feel faster).
im a big fan of lightweight and minimalistic programs in general, even though i see my phone as quite powerful (SGS2) but the zeam launcher doesnt do it for me. scrolling in the app list is not even close to being as smooth as the LP, thats why im sticking with that one.

Hi, everyone. I'm just trying to find out what minimal launcher there is out there. So far, the best example of this is probably slide screen but I would like even more minimal. I'm just wondering if anybody here knows of a very simple one page launcher with no dock or widget support but does have an organizable drawer?
Thanks.

What launchers have you already tried?
EDIT: It looks like Dxtop might suit your needs. If not you could try using a launcher you like in combination with apps organizer to organize your apps.
I was going to post links but it looks like a need 8 posts to do that.
---
You could give the MIUI rom a shot if you can't find a launcher you like.
P.S. Did you see the edit in my last post?
---
Not being able to flash a new rom is a somewhat sad situation.
You could try using desktop visualizer to do some tweaking to your homescreen.
---
Yeah, that's what it is. If you find a launcher you like you could maybe use desktop visualizer and apps organizer to customize your screens to something you find sufficiently minimal... Just a thought.

Not entirely sure but possibly you could look for an app drawer app in the market, rename it to Launcher2.apk, and replace it in /system/app/ directory.
Of course, nandroid first!

LOL! So true. If you want something like that just get an iPhone. Or even an iPhone Launcher on the market.
The best thing on Android is, that you can customize almost everything. So why he should buy iPhone where he can customize nothing?
I guess it is not bad idea to have home launcher like this. Though I won't probably not used it, because I am satisfied with stock ICS launcher for now.

We're kind of teasing him lol. Having the app drawer as the launcher would look just like an iPhone (just rows of apps icons). So we were saying if he wanted that he should just get an iPhone. If you really desperately want your homescreen like that drag all of your apps out of the drawer and put them on a homescreen. Problem solved?

Because he obviously doesn't want to customize the phone different from an iPhone. And if he was to try and put an iOS theme on there. Then why not just get what your trying so hard to resemble.

He wants to have launcher to scroll verticaly while iPhone launcher scroll horizontaly so I don't see your point at all. And the difference in Android vs. iPhone is just launcher? Nothing else?
So I'm trying nova launcher instead of Touchwiz. I honestly do not see what the fuss is. The only thing I like is the ability to move the app drawer button to the center of the dock. After that, I see no speed difference or awesome features.

Changing icons individually or as a pack, multiple docks, transition effects, size of icons can be changed, swipe action for individual icons, folders can be changed, several add ons suchs as unread counts, now comes the final question - did you use the pay or the free version. A lot of the really cool stuff is only available in a paid version and trust me it is lightning fast compared to touchwiz.
I'm using nova prime. I'm still learning, this is the first time I've ever used anything other than what was baked into whatever Rom I was using.
