Calendar force closes on Gingerbread - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After flashing Overcome v2 RC1, the Calendar app won't start. It just continually force closes.
I've only see one person complain about it in the GB Issues thread in General. Is it happening to you?

I'very found that if you go through the settings, making sure a notification sound is selected and so on, it will stop force closing..
Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. Where exactly can I find this notification sound?
The only one I know of, is under Sound - Notification Ringtone which is already selected.

Do you use Google Voice? Do you know of a workaround to get google voice text notifications to work with noled?
I noticed mine was force closing when I would wake up the phone using the power button.
if you wake up the phone using the home button, it works fine

I don't use Google Voice, sorry.
I found that if I touch the screen or any other buttons than the proper button to "unlock" it, it will force close.
Anyone using the Blink option? I find that displaying the icon for any option higher than 250ms will cause the phone to do the Nexus S style power off every time...
Mine doesn't force close but using SMS pop-up doesn't let the message turn off...

Same here. Ive disabled the screen too in the Misc. settings of noled, but its got the same issue.
I also get force closes if I don't press the home button.
so the OP's question is still not answered in full, is there another app that works? or another app at all for that matter.
When I see the force close... just click on the wait button and it works fine after that.

How bout you use your brain.I am NOT using a task killer.I am talking about clearing the ram in the samsung program monitor widget(stock one).If there is a way to exclude it from being cleared then please do tell.It never happened with previous versions of gingerbread or froyo. And wtf i expect a intelligent composed reply not a post that is rude and bloody ignorant.

[Q] Thunder sound - how can I stop it?

Hi All,
I have a RAZR I and I love it - except....
(nearly) Everytime I unlock the phone, I get a weird thunder clap type sound, i thought it was from a weather app, but i have closed them all, no widgets, nothing, but still I get this noise....
Any ideas as to which app is doing this?
Driving me crazy
Parameter -> sound -> disable "sound when unlock phone"
That's all

Thanks for the advice,
but tried that and nope it still does the same noise. As I said before, Not every time I unlock the phone, but on occasion.
I'm now going thru the process of uninstalling each "likely" culprit one by one to see if this sheds any light on the problem!
Bizarre.. What's your launcher?
Sent from my XT890 using xda premium
Thats what I thought
using Nova at the moment.... can't see anything in the settings on there to explain it?
So the problem come from Nova launcher!
There's something you don't see in the setting I think.

No sound text messages

Every text I get I have no notification sound also I can't even go into settings> notification just crashes and restarts. I'm on a custom rom but in odd too cause I've never had this issue before. Actually I don't even get sound notifications for certain apps like clash of clans it just vibrates.

Basic app that comes with the rom anyways I figured it out the file didn't have proper permissions. I was trying to update earlier but signed me out didn't have time to post it

Xperia ringtone playing on its own

So something very weird just happened to my phone: the Xperia ringtone suddenly started playing on its own, and would not stop.
Restarting the phone had no effect, and no apps were running.
Eventually I reset the app permissions and that seemed to work.
Anybody else experiencing this issue?
Edit: as I'm typing this, the ringtone started playing again.

and now my phone just randomly restarted itself...
is it possessed???
OK, so I've traced the culprit app to Tapatalk.
But even choosing no ringtone for the notifications STILL results in the ringtone playing on a loop.
Is there anything I can do to stop this, I really don't want to uninstall the app.

Sounds like there's a problem with the Tapatalk. Uninstall/reinstall might be helpful
