There is an official BBC news app on the market today: http://phandroid.com/2011/05/25/bbc-news-app-comes-to-android-market/
But when I search the market from my phone I cannot find it and when I use the Web Android Market it will not let me install it to my device, it is just greyed out. https://market.android.com/details?id=bbc.mobile.news.uk
I am running Continuum 5.5, I was wondering if anyone else was seeing the same behavior. Is it because Android Market thinks my phone is an i9000?
So when I hover my mouse over my device it says that the player cannot be installed in my country...
I'm guessing its like the BBC iPlayer, you have to be in the UK to be able to use/download it. I just tried and got the same issue.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong!!
The BBC website says the iplayer will stream to the HTC touch diamond, and that you go to www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer to access it. I do this and try to watch a programme then it says it needs flash player installing. When you click on the link to adobe it's for pc's.
I've tried installing flash lite 2.1 but this doesn't seem to connect with the iplayer.
It's as if iplayer doesn't recognise I'm using a mobile device.
Searching on here has turned up lots of alternative ways to view iplayer content, but I was hoping to do it directly from the website like the BBC say you can.
Am I just having a blonde day or am I missing something fundamental?
iPlayer has been covered to death, with numerous solutions to get it working. My favorite, Myplayer - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=501131&highlight=myplayer. Simply an awesome app, another option is iPlayer - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475641&highlight=iplayer, sadly don't think it's being developed any further but very good to just download the show you want (through wifi) and watch it later.
HTH.
Thanks for that, I'll give them a go.
At least I know it's not me being stupid!!
opened up the app today as usual and gave me the option to upgrade, so i did.. (dumb i know) installed perfectly, But when i opened it said go to sprint .com and switch to them.. haha..

Anyone having trouble toggling to fullscreen while watching NFL Network using this app? The video plays fine small but when I hit fullscreen the stream stops. I'm running NFSfans 6.5 final rom. The video opens windows media player by default. Anyway to open the stream in TCMP or streaming media instead?
i cant get around the option to upgrade. I even did a fresh install of the app from the original sprint dump.
I didn't install any updater, but whenever i open the app it tells me to upgrade. The widget still works fine so I just keep that on one of the home screens. So to people who use this app we are kinda boned in terms of checking stats and listening to games, but as long as we use the widget we still get real time scores.
Oh, and also I don't know who likes what teams but if you are interested in listening to some games download "a online radio" from the market. My team is the packers and unfortunately I can't get any of their games, but I have listened to entire Dallas, Pit, and San diego games. Just search espn and it will give you all the available espn radio stations you can stream on your phone.
I dont get any prompts to upgrade. But I am unable to view the NFL Network Stream or the Live Games anymore. I get a black screen with Audio only. Used to work fine.
Other videos within the app work fine.
Anyone else get this?
I have the newest version v2.4.1-1.0.111 I downloaded the .cab file from the sprint site via desktop pc. The cab is named... nfl2009.cab for the HTC Touch qvga 240 x 320. Everything works fine except I cant view nfl network in full screen using the app via media player mobile. Someone in another post said it was possible to view nfl network fullscreen through Sprintv. Problem is I have verizon as a carrier.
Has anybody had this website work for them yet? I tried stock browser and skyfire, and I'm on cognition froyo, nothing streams it yet. It does however let you download.

probably due to the 'iphone' in the url that is preventing it?
Sorry.. I don't know why it isnt working. Could be the streams are setup for Quicktime though?

Just try another video player.. The stock videoplayer doesn't seem to allow stream from that site..

The site is: iphonetvshows.net
And it says: "We currently support the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, & Android phones"
It works on the EVO and a couple other android phones, just wondering why not on the captivate, and if there is a way around it.
Same I could stream on 2.1 but with 2.2 I no longer can
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
It looks like the format is mp4. One of the boondocks episodes direct link via that site is: http://tossen5.info/tv2/16thtv/2-1-Or%20Die%20Trying-00.mp4
Any other vid players on the market work for streaming video? Has anyone tried using the Video player from CM6?
I'll try later this morning if no one gets to it.
I recently went into my app area in the market and it was telling me youtube wasn't installed. I got tired of it saying that so I reinstalled it and now I lost my honeycomb widget. Anyone know how I can get it back?
If you installed the market version of youtube its not the honeycomb version and you should uninstall it.
but then won't I have NO youtube?
Have just returned to using android on my hd2 from wp7 as i have found myself using justin.tv quite a lot recently.
I 1st installed froyo and found the justin.tv viewer app in the market but really wanted to use gingerbread, so i installed gingerbread and looked and it doesnt show up, it also doesnt link to via barcode scan or email link.
I can still use the site as it is flash but would really like to know how i can use the viewer app.
any info is of great use! thanks
sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the marketplace took down justin viewer off the market this week...
