Hello,
I've just found this kitchen: http://www.gimpsta.com/themer/
would it work on LG O2x?
Thanks in advance,
Tiwiz
yes it should work fine, its just an app.
It's what I thought, but it doesn't work it installs the keyboard, but I can't get it work. If I long-prress on a text box and select that keyboard as the input method, just no keyboard shows...
you have to go to setting>language and keyboard>check HTC_IME keyboard .. then longpress and select it.
Having done that the keyboard still doesn't show up :S

you also need clicker.apk and i think there is also a lib file needed to get it to work ... (but don´t know which )
i would suggest cook a room at modaco with HTC Ime as keyboard, install, this works for sure ... (and will hopefully install all needed files )
then cook your HTC iME in Keyboard Kitchen, install ...
try out now ... hope your having success
edit : got it working ! will upload my zip soon !
ok, here we go :
i can provide you update.zip with themed HTC_Ime from Gimpsta Kitchen (Clicker.apk included), install in recovery
just a little themed ;-) , but i like it this way ...
It will install to system/app and overwrite HTC_Ime from MCR Rom (I use same name)
If you like to theme your own , style your keyboard with Gimpsta and put in my update.zip, name first to : "HTC_IME_hi22.apk"
I tested this on MCR Fr18 , cooked with HTC_Ime, not sure if it will work on CM, or when you cooked another keyboard, you will tell me ...

What is it ?
This is just two simple themed Advanced Launcher I use on my 32B with cyanogen 4.2.8.1 and Darkstar theme.
This is a metamorph mod, not an update.
As this is the first release, there's perhaps some bugs.
If someone want to use it in a theme, there's no problem, just let me know
Instructions :
Download
Standard version : http://android-stock-theme.googlecode.com/files/Kawaz_AL.zip
White version : http://android-stock-theme.googlecode.com/files/Kawaz_white_AL.zip
Arrow version : http://www.box.net/shared/85y0qqv2jc
Cube version : http://www.box.net/shared/z40q1dselg
Grey version : http://www.box.net/shared/lmnx20f08s
Hollow version : http://www.box.net/shared/6sdg95pnd3
And use it in Metamorph app (> 1.7). If you don't have yet Advanced Launcher, Metamorph will install it.
I think it can be used on any rom wich can use Advanced Launcher.
Thanks to :
Cachinjection for the initial Darkstar concept,
Feekyfrogy for the Darkstar theme from wich my mod is based on (tell me if you don't want I use some of your work),
Bahnburner who has metamorphed Darkstar launcher (tell me if you don't want I use some of your work),
Djengizz who motivated me unknowingly by sharing metamorphs and for hosting ,
Stericson for his awesome MetaMorph app,
Benjigarner for folder icons (http://benjigarner.deviantart.com/),
Siristhius for trash icon in white version (http://siristhius.deviantart.com/art/Trash-bin-icon-95130312),
And XDA in general
Extras :
Bamboo background can be found here : http://missnysha.deviantart.com/

And just for the fun, a variation of wallpaper i made some years ago :

didn't work for me as well. I'm guessin' it's 'cuz of the update script. Said something was missing, thus making the addition/theme invalid. Looks great though! Can't wait to use it. Good job!
Its for MetaMorph, not a flash.

Yeah..i didn't try to flash it. I used Metamorph, but it didn't work for me. Anyone have better luck? I just downloaded the zip to the root of my sdcard, then opened metamorph, picked the zip from the AndExplorer list from pick theme', but it gave me an error message.
I just looked at it,
The zip file and .thm file should have the same name
also
Code:
CM
4.2.8
Launcher.cpy
/system/app/
AdvancedLauncher.apk
/system/app/
I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to do here. The advanced launcher is still the Launcher.apk and the drawables are still the same. Just get rid of that Launcher folder, rename the AdvancedLauncher to just Launcher and the .thm file just needs to be
Code:
CM
4.2.8
Launcher.apk
/system/app/
For MetaMorph to work, the folder needs to be the exact name that the apk is.
oh, and by the way, for those of you who couldn't find the wallpaper he was talking about when they went to that site, just type in 'bamboo zen' when you go to the wallpaper link in the OP and you'll see it. It should be the first one. There's also an inverse one of it which looks pretty snazzy as well.
kool good to see some more darkstar offshoots, hope my next theme inspires such themeing projects.
just a quick one, i personally think that the the background image for the app draw chould do with some refining.
have fun yall

Hi,
Don't know why it doesn't work for everyone...
I'm using Metamoph 1.8.1. I just put the zip in /SDCARD/AndroidThemes/ (as Stericson said in his OP).
@Eessel : exact thanks.
@Jairomeo : zip and thm have the same name (it works on my phone)
I'm not exactly sure what i am trying to do in the .thm. I've just take the metamorph zip from Bahnburner's Darkstar Advanced Launcher and modify some pictures.
The metamorph install Advanced Launcher (with Launcher.cpy subtheme i think)and then themed it (with AdvancedLauncher.apk i think).
As it works for me i hope it can works for every one.
After the first time i use this metamorph, Avanced Launcher was successfully installed and i just have to apply AdvancedLauncher.apk subtheme, not Launcher.cpy.
I've just done a test :
update to cyan 4.2.9.1 -> return to standard cyan launcher
apply kawaz_white metamorph -> advanced launcher is installed and themed...
@cacheinjection : yes, i agree. I've try a semi-transparent image, but have some bugs with it. Perhaps in next version if i found a solution.
Thanks all for comments.
Finally, is there someone use it with success ?
OK !! I anderstand what happend !
I've try to re-download my mod and have seen that my host rename it !
So, i'm going to update the OP with that :
you should rename the donloaded file :
Kawaz_AL.zip for the standard mod
Kawaz_white_AL.zip for the white mod
Sorry for that.
Hello,
When I use a semi-transparent background for menu, i've a bug :
Normal :
With bug :
Icons are in double or triple...
Anybody knows why ?
anyone get this to work with Metamorph 1.7? I am having the same error...
Ive updated to last metamorph (1.8.1) and still having the error message ("id file could not be read or is missing ..").
I've tried with both black and white version, downloaded the files twice nothing work.
And that's a shame, this launcher look real damn good.
Im running Dwang 1.5, with metamorphed theme mainly borrowing to dark star.
Dont know what Im missing, if anybody does, please let me know
Have you rename the downloaded file as i add in the first post ?
Hi,
New mirror added to the first post. You did'nt have to rename files with it.
Thanks a lot Djengizz !
Please let me know if somebody can use those mods now.
Is there any way to use this skin on the home screen only? I just can't bear to go back to three screens (which is what Advanced Launcher does to my baby).

+1 for this - deleted as soon as I saw that I couldn't use it without losing 2 screens.
Hey guys, I'm currently running CM6 rom and I tried to install the HTC_IME MOD keyboard with no luck. I was actually able to install it but when I select it as the input method the keyboard never appears on the screen. Has anyone gotten this to work on their Aria successfully? I tried it on both CM6 and Attn1 liberated rom. I installed swype and that works fine, but I really would prefer the HTC keyboard.

no offense but we arent looking for a different language we are looking at the keyboard interface
i also suspect that this was designed for a different device, a higher resolution device and the low resolution versions dont support froyo

works great i dont seem to have the issue with a glitch on the speak now...but it does work great...also im running cm6 6.0.2 with dumfuq's oc kernel 825...wich is great btw
I got this to work...once. Not sure what I did right, but I'd like to do it again. I was running CM6.1 and tried it many times. I think the only time I got it to work may have been when I chose lo res. I shall reattempt after I resolve a few other issues. I will do my best to report back if there is success.
Use the Low Resolution. I used a PC for the download and extraction. All you need is the apk that comes from the extract. Send the apk to your phone using any means (e-mail, usb connect). Use a file explorer such as Astro to install the apk. After installing the apk, go to Menu>Settings>Language & keyboard and check next to HTC_IME. (Notice there is a settings link - quite good). Back out to the home screen and select an app that would need text input. Long press on the text field, then select Input method. Select HTC_IME mod.
If you use the gimpsta ( http://www.gimpsta.com/themerlo/) skinner, use the lowres. When you want to change skins, just do the same install you did earlier with one tricky exception. They are all labeled the same, no matter what you name each skin's apk. When you locate the new skin in your explorer and try to install the apk, it will not give you an install option, but an uninstall option. Go with the uninstall, then when you return to the file explorer, reattempt install. Follow through with the subsequent steps to activate the input method, just like your original install of this custom keyboard.
Hope this helps. I was almost obsessed with making this work, because I had seen it work once. Now we just wait for gimpsta to give us low res users more options like custom keys, symbols and spacebar inlays.
Yeah,
1. You have to enable it in the menu.
2. You do a long check on a type-box.
3. choose input method, and then you can use HTC_IME mod.
4.??
5. Profit!
I'm having trouble getting this to work. I tried both hi-res links and the 1.6 lo res. the hi-res had nothing show up when a keyboard was needed (the standard android keyboard disapeared and was not replaced). the lo-res force closed.
i wiped all data/caches before installing CM6.1
Does anybody know how to make HTC_IME to show the character "ñ" on the keyboard? Even though I only marked spanish as my language it just won't show. It should be next to the "L"
Try pressing and hold or slide up and should show it.
Sent from my HTC Liberty using XDA App
I did it! It was on the "keyboard language" section. It's weird that I didn't notice that before. I was choosing my language on the "Language Selection" area. Thank you for for you answer
Love the simple look of the GB keyboard, but cant (=dont want to) use phone without swype
so i adapted this skin for my own use since i couldn't find a close enough match to the real gingerbread keyboard, thought id share, maybe others have been looking for the same?
only tested on swype 2.15 wvga, it should work on 2.10 tho, as the skin pack looks the same.
since we cant post swype apk's you'll have to do a bit of work if you want to use this.
its really simple tho...
method used:
-copy swype apk to desktop -
-change file extention from swype.apk to swype.zip
-open zip (no need to extract), then assets folder
-copy "keyboard" folder from zip provided below, to assets (accept add & replace if prompted)
-close zip & rename back to swype.apk (or whatever)
then you have to sign the apk or it wont install
you can use whatever method you like i use Auto-Sign for this or you could use apk manager
no need for more instructions as there's plenty out there & 1 in the Auto-Sign zip provided
you will need Java Development Kit on your pc for auto-sign to work, can be found here:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html
Only created the portrait skins & credits must go to Marurban for his landscape skins ive included in the zip:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=930306
final note: left the skins as editable png's (individual buttons, font...) so you can adapt if you wish, just ungroup using a photo editor
EDIT: ADDED GREEN KEYBOARDS
Thank you for this. I have it working fine with Swype 2.15 on HyperDroidGBX v4.0.
but cant (=dont want to) use phone without swype

Has any-one got this working with the new beta 2.17.59.15552.t100?
Over the past week I have been looking for assistance on having a keyboard I like modded to work with the theme I'm using.
Specs
ROM: Serendipity v6.3 - Theme: ZeuBugTheme (I9000 theme) JS based - Keyboard in question extracted from: Erebos (JPX/U/Y/JS3/JS5/JS7/JS8)
The keyboard is a .apk. I have tried the following to no avail, constantly getting the "Force Close" warning. File name gbkb.apk.
1) Dropping directly into System>app
2) Rename to libjni_latinime.so (not sure if I did it right, but didn't work)
I tried a few other things, things I don't remember that went terribly wrong!
So I ask for help understanding how to make something like this work with my setup.
Interestingly enough, they also have a dialer which I was easily able to replace the DialerTabActivity.apk and have the dialer work. So why not the keyboard?
Pleas ask questions I would truly like to rectify this.
Thanks, Tomween1

you need the gbkb.apk and the matching .so. you dont just rename anything.
drop the apk into /system/app and the .so that is included with the theme into /system/lib
thats it. you dont have to modify anything

Hello
1. Can anyone point me out to the HTC_IME keyboard that works for the x8?
I see soo many version and don't know what to choose
2. I saw that the installation process requires to overwrite the old version. Can i save it and keep there just in case? or i will have the possibility to choose between the 2 keyboards?

I think that I have the LowRes for Android 1.6 and Up, it works fine
You don't need to install the Clicker.apk, just the HTC_Ime Apk
Just try and feedback
Oh! i forgot to say! You can simply backup the old HTC Keyboard APK by simply copy it from System/apps to your SDCARD.
But, BTW, i've installed yesterday the GingerDX 007 for Xperia X8 and the HTC IME Keyboard that comes with it works fine, are you having troubles with it?
Waiting for your feedback
Ooh, it's already included?
I did not know that. I read somewhere that the HTC_IME is considered one of the best and wanted to install it.
Nevermind then, thank you and sorry for disturbing.

Yes, it is included xD
HTC_IME is my favorite keyboard, his T9 keyboard is a very helpful alternative for those who want to chat, because the QWERTY keyboard with the screen vertically is realy difficult to write fast, and HTC_IME also has a very good dictionary
You're welcome, anything just PM me or ask in the forum
HTC_ime is already included in GingerDX ... so why do you need to install an another one?
edit:/ ok, my post useless.. It has been told already xD
