Hello, I'm doing some battery testing on different roms to see which ones the best, so far it's Ultimate 10.2. On all the other roms the battery indicator all have a percentage and that's what I was basing my tests on. But on Ultimate, the battery is just a battery. I tried flashing a mod with CW but it just froze or got stuck in the loading menu. Any help on to why this happens or another way to install the rom?
Greatly appreciated, Richard.

Hello again, what base is ultimate? You cab use battstatt from market
Im on Ultimate v5.6 XXJPY. I don't like using battstat im kinda OCD ahah and I would rather have a mod to replace the other one.

Any jpy theme should work
It's in About Phone, under Status.
Are the mods universal? I found a jpy battery mod but it said it was for darkys rom. Will that work?

May or may not. In general, themes designed for JPX based roms would work in any JPX rom, but there is no 100% guarantee it would. Before u do any of these things, I would recommend taking a nandroid backup so u can revert to that in case anything messes up.
If ur rom is a JPY based rom, it could work on urs too.
For me, about 2-3 out of 10 themes mess up and nandroid is the way to get back.

Is there such thing as a universal kernel that can go with all roms? If not can you suggest a mod for a jpy rom? I have my whole phoned backed up in like three different computer files so I'm open to suggestions.

I flashed debusROM (and then DamienGTO2.2.1 kernel), which i am blown away by. I keep hearing good things about Honey ROM, but i am so happy with debusROM that i'm not very motivated to flash something different just yet.
However my curiosity prevails.
Anyone had experience with both?
no one? really?
Well, just wait tomorrow cuz i release 3.5 JVH!

Will it be improved(even more)?
no what i'm saying is that i am running a JVB ROM.. i have read that i cannot flash a JVH ROM straight on top of a JVB ROM - will you please post a method of upgrading my SGS from JVB to JVH?

Do I need to explain the rom for you guys?
Original thread
DO NOT FLASH FROM CM7 OR MIUI!
Installation:
-Flash an i9000 based gingerbread rom.
-Download the darkyrom configurator from market.
-Tap flash kernel, modem, and wipe
-Start the flashing.
-Enjoy
Features:
-Based off of darkyrom 10.2
-JVP bullet kernel
-KB5 modem
-fixed home haptic feedback
-fixed volume keys
-fixed softkeys
The bootanimation app DOES NOT work. Nothing's wrong with the rom. It's just that our kernel does not support it.
GPS is not present in this rom.

Hit thanks please.

Does this problem occur in JVP? Its been so long since ive been on a JVP rom. I found that JVP was the most stable out of all the gingerbread roms

I felt JVP was the smoothest, and the only problem with JVP was the browser which isn't really that bad because it was still really usable.

Just flashed like a normal ROM without the Darky app and flashe from BiWinning a FroYo ROM and worked flawlessly.
Okay. Here I go. I ported from toxic hero darky 9.5 and worked okay.
Problems and concerns:
1) Computer voice saying welcome to darky's rom. Doesn't fit in well at the office.
2) Bootloader app doesn't work. Please let me know how I can custom change the bootscreen by going into the files.
3) Multicolored lines running across the screen after Vibrant bootscreen but before Galaxy S screen
4) This needs BLOATER app from old Darky roms!!!!!!
Otherwise I think it's perfect. unbelievably fast.

Everything else is stock as it comes.
Check out the I9000 themes and apps section for compatible themes.
Flashing instructions. You are required to be running a Gingerbread rom. You are required to do a factory wipe/reset before hand (failure to do so will result in a bootloop!!!) Yes Simply Anti-Noob script is in place but doing an intial non-wipe install is not optional if you want a working phone. The script will come into play when flashing themes and what have you.

EB does GPS work or is it still broken because of Talon Kernel? Does this have the new Talon kernel Simone was talking about today? Is Simone working on a JVS 2.35 kernel now? Screenshots please. Thank you for releasing untouched stock JVS rom!
GPS still not working as far as i can tell. You can try the bullet kernels but obviously there will be trade offs. As soon as i have a kernel with working gps i of course will post it.

This overwrites everything and is not themed at all. Pure stock.

Hey guys, my friend has a i900 running 2.2.1 froyo. He hates how it is always freezing and wants me to root it and put CM9 on it. I swapped sim cards with him and did a nandroid on mine so i can restore after. So i have his phone
I was wondering is the process to get Cm9 running is the same as coming from gingerbread.(thats what my phone came with 2.3.4)
On mine i:
Flashed CF root with ODIN,
Booted into recovery and flashes Cm9 and an approprite kernel.
Just wondering if i can follow the same procedure as before. Help is appreciated, i dont want to mess this up.
Thanks.
Just upgrade to gingerbread using Odin...root with appropriate kernel using Odin...flash latest cm9 nightly in cwm...check out slim 4.1 as well.

I don't believe you can go to Cm9 from froyo...you maybe right but all the info you need is in the links I provided. I'm sure you'll find you're answer in the cm9 thread.
I gave it a quick look and it doesn't mention gingerbread. But if it were me I would since it might be more difficult to dig up a kernel for froyo

I see you have an i9000m and on Virgin - franchisee of Bell.
Follow these instructions
[HOWTO] Flashing CWRecovery to i9000m & upgrade to ICS AOSP 4.x ROM from any version
Branch off to whatever ICS rom you want.
You'll definitely need to be using the cm7-kg3 modem for any ICS rom going forward. That means after every new ROM flash you'll have to flash the KG3 modem. Once you are upgrading within a ROM, you won't have to re-flash the modem each time.
If you use a firmware from the first link I gave you there are firmware. with bootloaders.
The links contain everything you need...firmware....kernel to get cwm....Cm9....and radio zip

Thanks guys, im going for it pretty soon here. You guys are awesome.
For the first time in my life, kies just connected to a phone. I cant handle it. I think im gonna pass out in disbelieve.
Anyway... lol.
Can i just update to gingerbread kg3 from kies?
Yes, but you may have a difficult time finding a kernel with cwm for kg3.
×Slim Rom×
and now i cant get into recovery mode. Just download mode. I downloaded the stock firmware from samfirmware, and was gonna flash it with odin, but which file to i put it under? Its just a single tar ball
EDIT: For some reason i have to use power volume up AND down and home. Wierd.
I always use firmware from the link I gave you...just flash jw5 from link with 512 pit....then root with semaphore 2.7.4.tar from second link....easy.
×Slim Rom×
I will try that now. Cause im bootlooping with CF root.
After that you can flash cm9 in cwm...additionally slim 4.1...then slim common....then the Kg3 modem zip in cwm as well.
