Gapps customizer? - G Tablet Themes and Apps

Hi !
GaospLight for Gingerbread Gaosp online !
After some coding time (and catch head) I have a small program to show you! It is software running under Windows only (sorry for the others ...) who can create your own Roma Gaosp.
This software can add and delete applications of the rom flashable Gaosp. The tool provides a list of checkboxes that allow you to integrate applications,GAPPS are included. You can replace the orignal Launcher (ADW Launcer) by LauncherPro. It will download the GAPPS (orignal version) and the latest version of Gaosp then will integrate your changes into an flashable archive.
As a video presentation is often better than a long speech I've made a little video which shows the software in action:
http://batchdhelus.open-web.fr/programme/GaospLight/GaospLight.html
I planned, if it is possible to integrate the possibility of rooter the Galaxy. The software is in French but also in English (in fact it puts the language depending on the language of the OS)
Download: http://batchdhelus.open-web.fr/programme/GaospLight/GaospLight.exe
Caution: Some antivirus software can detect as malware. This is totally false, and due to the UPX compression to compile the software
Note: The translation of program of french to english is may be not exact because i'm a french teenager (15 years old). Sorry, and if you can help me to have a better translation it's would be great... The program will automatically update itself if a higher version available
I await your comments.

thats an interesting radio number, when did you get this?
and where from?
I've not flashed this (mainly 'cos it's all 404 lang files) but there are some newer files in there than the stock european roms, although the build isn't much newer.
first up
Opera is 2532
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WBK4A9UR
theres a new version of media panel as well, although I can't find the version number of the old one.
this one is mxp r19 mr1 rc2 32367
theres a different version of panelmanager, seems a bit quicker will try and cab it up..
here's the LRK dump
Code:
ROM: 1.03.941.7
SYS: 5.2.19608.1260
do you know if this ROM support chinese?
is this opera optimized for the X1? or is it only an other custom rom? with an newer opera inside

i dont think this is a custom rom
i tested the opera build and you are right it seems to be an X1 build, so i let it on my X1 now, cant find an big difference with that build, the only thing it loads faster which is also great but an zoombar would be nice.

I've not tried the opera yet, been testing other things, what does the user agent string say in that build?
in case anyone wants to try it, extract the files to /program files/panelmanager
Make sure that panelmanager isn't running first, (use fdcsoft taskmanager to kill it)
dumped ontop of itje's fantastic 2.2 rom this new version absolutely flies for me, but it has hung once or twice (changing options in the se panel casues it I think).
here's the newer media panel as well
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6TVS33GB
What I'm really curious about is the new opera, does it have the zoom bar, while being optimized for X1!?
For me, I am interested in MxpFont.mxf under the new panel manager since it could be the solution to display Asian characters in Media panal. Too bad I don't have my X1 w/ me to test.....

Hmmm.. this newly build opera still has no zoom function,
and still it seems to be not able to support Chinese letters in certain websites (eg:cnbeta.com)
(I have got Chinese fonts installed[RickyMSYH6.0Flo, form windows7], and it has no problem displaying Chinese in google.com, it’s because of some encoding format?)
I could be wrong but TW version is traditional Chinese, while cnbeta.com uses simplified Chinese. Not sure if traditional Chinese version can view simplified Chinese fonts.

Hi Jack, I was wondering if it's possible to make an English-based rom to display Chinese characters (but system font remains as English) natively using files from this Chinese ROM without the CE-star files? Thanks.

For English based rom to display other languages (Jpn,CHT, CHS ...etc), you basically need to change 2 files.
1. Wince.nls which support the target language. (WWE base one is only 300k while CHT/CHS is ~ 1mb)
2. Font that support the target language. WWE base is normally is just couple hundreds k, but CHT/CHS base vary from 3mb to 13mb.
The Mxp font I am talking about in this thread is solely for MediaPanel.
Thanks for the info.
I will flash it and grab those files and the mxpfont file.
In regards to the Media Panel, suppose we use that mxpfont.mxf from this ROM, do we still need to add Chinese support to the system first or will the mxpfont display Chinese w/o any system modification? Thanks.
btw what happened to your X1?
EDIT: Used xperia rom kitchen to extract the OS... found the mxp cab file, which is 9.01MB. Inside the cab there's a a 0MxpFont.008 file which is 6.79MB!
EDIT 2: Woohoo I just installed that MxP cab file and the Chinese word (unicode) in the mp3 show up all fine on my x1a w/ x1a ROM! The interface remains in English, nice! No need to flash the ROM

when you have a chance to test it please let us know the result.... I want to display chinese on the media panel too (too bad I dunno what to do to test it... just replace the file on the phone )
it's a pity the camera doesn't have a 409 mui file with it, as this version looks really good!
most of the settings are messed up but it looks like there are settings for uploading and things such as twilight. edit scrap that last bit, it's a text error..
Image quality is much improved I think, so back up (rename) your xperiacamera.dll in /program files/xperiacamera
and try this..

[GER][WM6.1][R3AA007] Light ROM for Xperia X1

Hi,
I just cooked my first ROM for the Xperia X1. As I haven't done this before, it is possible that it may contain glitches or don't work as expected, although it runs flawlessly and fast on my Xperia.
It is inspired byPhenx' lite german ROM, but based on R3AA instead of R2A.
I only removed parts which are not necessary in my point of view. I targeted for a minimal ROM which everyone can adapt to his wishes by installing Cabs.
What do you get:
- Generic ROM based on R3AA007
- German UI
What is missing:
- Media files like "Quantum of Solace"-Trailer, Jazz by*-MP3, Arcsoft-MMS-Content, SampleMusic
- SE 3D Fish Panel
- X1-Taskmanager (I prefer the one provided by Resco File Explorer Today plugin)
- Handango Store
- Google Search and Google Maps (newer versions are downloadable at Google)
What extras do you get:
- None, it's just a generic ROM stripped of some files
How to flash:
Just follow the normal procedure by using KovskyRUU.exe
Where to get it:
preferredWWWprotocol://rapidshare.com/files/347266188/Xperia-X1-R3A007-GER-Light.rar (Sorry, being a new user I'm not able to post clickable or copyable external links. )
Feel free to test it and report errors or flaws. Maybe I will look over it and do my best to fix it, but I don't guarantee that.
So long... kistenschieber
have any one test this rom?
not yet
seems not. But its like a generic rom - he didnt modified anything else than removing some software so that you dont need extra bugfixes for this rom (only these wich are for the stock rom necessary ;-) ).
It's me again...
The ROM has been downloaded 9 times so far. I didn't get any feedbeck about non-working components, so I'm quite sure it won't destroy anything.
After getting my X1's housing (the usual cracks) and mainboard (no GSM-reception) replaced by SE service (Becker & Partner) two weeks ago I re-installed this ROM on the new board and it runs as smooth as on the old one. I know, this isn't a real test.
So long... kistenschieber
So, I'm seeking a ROM like this but in English.
May be I must done it myself.
Thanks for sharing.
Could you please re-upp this ROM? I'm just searching a clean 6.1 ROM as I just tried different 6.5 ROMs and I'm not happy with the today screen...nor do I like Manila ot TF3D...

[APP] NexusLight - Change ROM for you

Hello,
Here is developed a small software who work on Windows called NexusLight, which allows you to create a ROM for your needs from the flash.
He was appointed NexusLight because I have only tested on the Nexus, but it should work with all phones / roms if the signature verification is disabled in the recovery.
This is actually an adaptation of the software GaospLight (frandroid forum) I had created for the Galaxy's first name.
It allows you to remove applications from the ROM but also to add.
The software interface is in French but in English except for description of the applications (in fact it is the language depending on the language of the OS)
Moreover a video presentation is often better than a thousand words I have made a video where you see the software in operation:
http://www.youtube.com/embed/eNXXEGTUnQA
Download Link
The program will automatically update itself if a higher version available.
Warning: Some antivirus software can detect as malware.
But it is totally wrong is due to the UPX compression when compiling software.

Isn't it easier to use 7-zip or WinRAR to open the zip and add/remove any apks you want?
Does Zipping Unizpping Works ? Never tried it to asking ?

You don't have to actually unzip the package. Just open it and add/remove apks from there. Though I think unzipping and re-zipping should work too
I agree this app is sort of silly since you can easily do the same thing with winrar/7zip. It might be useful if more features were added to it (e.g. change the kernel, change the boot animation, etc), until then...
7zip.
One zip to rule them all.

[Q] Problem on Input Languages

When using stock ROM, my mini can determine my native language. Ex like when typing message, just talk. But after switching to custom, cannot found that features. Tried checked in Input Languages, also not find. Google also not found. Install Keyboard for ICS also no luck. Someone can try to help me.
Tq
That's why it's called custom rom, the cooker of the project add some features, and remove others such as interface and keyboard languages, some crappy built-in apps (those whose seems useless in his point of view).
wherefore there where you downloaded the custom rom, you must first read the changelog before proceeding, to avoid complaining later
So if you can live without those missed features, and coexist with your new life
you will need google apps (aka. gapps) to have market and gmail account.
download them from here:
http://www65.zippyshare.com/view.jsp?locale=fr&key=94227110
then flash them via CWM recovery (mount system before proceeding).

Code:
libaudio.so
libaudioflinger.so
libbluedroid.so
libbluetooth.so
libbluetoothd.so
libdvm.so
libhardware_legacy.so
libhtc_acoustic.so
libjpeg.so
libm.so
libnativehelper.so
libOmxH264Dec.so
libOmxMpeg4Dec.so
libOmxVidEnc.so
libskia.so
libstagefrighthw.so
libttssynthproxy.so
libwpa_client.so
AND added
libSFM_runtime.so
I am thinking some of them you might have replaced using either CM7 or AOSP GB ROM libs, right??
or you had to re-compile them. (how did you do CM7 or AOSP - i am thinking it doesn't matter right??)
And about libSFM_runtime.so, it is not there in salsa ROM, so it must be something that you compiled,
so what exactly does this do?? why is this required, as i didn't find any such lib in Tattoo ROMs
Does this lib codes any compatibility with other hardware gps, camera, bt??
Thanks very much for all the help you have extended so far.
Hi,
I don't know how can I help you with GPS.
Changed libraries were build using AOSP Android 2.3.3_r1 source code and toolchain. I
Code:
recompiled some of them only to change prelink address,
libbluedroid.so, libbluetooth.so, libbluetoothd.so due to different BT chipset,
libaudio.so, libaudioflinger.so, libhtc_acoustic.so due to different audio chipset,
libOmxH264Dec.so, libOmxMpeg4Dec.so, libOmxVidEnc.so due to different VFE, libraries were taken from another ROM,
libdvm.so, libjpeg.so, libm.so, libnativehelper.so, libskia.so, libttssynthproxy.so, egl/libGLES_android.so due to missing floating point instructions support in MSM7200A chipset,
libnativehelper.so - this lib overrides some of JAVA native functions (due to missing floating point instructions support), new functions are loaded from libsfm_runtime.so,
libwpa_client.so - different Wi-Fi chipset, starts wlan_loader service,
libhardware_legacy.so - hex edited only, bcm4329.ko changed to wlan.ko.
when it becomes operational I would like to try ..

hmm it seems like it loads wlan.ko and we don't have that file
edit i now see whats wrong
sigh i've made a proper edit at start than i looked into modules folder and saw a tun.ko i just got to be it. then i edited it to tun.ko and i thought why not to be sure to check a working wifi loading driver? and guess what i did correct the first time -__- now i will soon see what will happen
Now i'm off to flashing
Yes i got a wildfire now
EDIT: When wifi works i'll be release a build, not for daily use but i need logcat
OK great i thought i failed hex the file so it didn't boot but it booted up, now i'll soon see if it works or not
Wooow a dream comes true?! Glad u work on it and welcome back
The last time I tested this ROM the launcher was really the only thing that was almost fully resized. And that DPI changing tried a Wildfire S dev and I think he didn't managed it. You should may have a closer look at KoolSense there the WiFi is working and also the Bluetooth works halfway.

Bad news guys recently I moved to my beloved girl friend and I was stupid enough to not take my work station with me.
I'm not able to work on this unless I use a hex editor on phone but I won't be able to try it. Also I can only provide lib files instead of whole rom so if anyone have a spare phone they can use to flash and try my changes it would be really appreciated until I don't have my mac i can't fix a edited boot image to make it work with cyannogen as base.
Also I'm getting my new s4 due to my note ii is being messed up. And I'm not sure I will get it on warranty (tried some things that won't be good for the phone) but everything is back to stock so I hope they may fix it
SORRY guys I'll work on it from cell when I got time.
Best wishes last
good news guys I'll be working on this again starting today or tomorrow depending on if i feel like it. sorry for the bad updates

Try changing the build prop to allow the firmware changes. That might be causing the conflict. You might have to build a whole new sense kernel to deal with the wifi and bluetooth. These are just theories though i am just a noob to android development. once my exams are over I will try to contribute to this project more but that isn't till the 14th June/

I reckon the wlan tools is some type of WiFi settings in sense 3.5. Like WiFi always on and stuff like that. Try looking at the official ROM they used to port and see if these files are in there. That might give you a clue. Glad to see you nearly cracked it.
