Are there any rumors or talk are the future of the 7" Galaxy Tab?
I don't see my self buying the 8.9" or 10.1" model, but if an updated 7" model was released, ie. a better camera, processor and/or OS, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
Thanks.
I am with you on that.
5" Streak is a good size, seems there are a few phonetablets starting to surface, but they are 5". I will keep mine till it dies.

True, I would like a 7inch with honeycomb. If some fine hacker here can do it then I will make a rather nice donation
But if a newer skinner version came out, Id buy it right away.
I would like to have a close look at the 8.9 version. its its not that big then I might make the move. But 7 is just perfect for me.

LMBO !!!!!!!!!!
So i went out and bought an iphone 4s...
here is a quick comparison between this phone and my android galaxy s2
first of all, camera on the ip4s is lightyears beyond the sgs2... samsungs are simply cheap in my opinion. but thats just me.
phone has way more apps than android, and better quality too. that was a nice upgrade
The touch screen (although incredibly small) is way more responsive, and has way better color, and a lot sharper. This was noticeable. The difference was night and day. All android phones seems to has this problem though.. not good color. :/
And siri is amazing. I can’t believe how smart this application is…. Cutting edge. I wish my sgs2 had something similar built in.
The speaker quality on the ear piece and the loud speaker were also superior quality.
The radios also are better than any android phone I have ever used. No LOS!
My final verdict is android needs to step up their game. Sure the new ICS phone is coming out, but it will still lag! It irritates me that I have been missing out for so long on all the freedom and variety of apps available with iOS!!
anybody else have a similar experience?
don’t turn this into a flame thread either.

If you are looking for a similar experience how about you check out 1 of the other 50 threads on the topic. You obviously don't know much with your title (compare to my droid). Droid is a branding used by verizon. Android is an operating system. Great story though.

If you don't want to make this into a flame thread that is next to impossible. Firstly almost the entire populace here hates the iPhone, or just apple. Secondly, whilst i will belive some of your points and they are valid, the others are downright trollish. e.g. "Sure the new ICS phone is coming out, but it will still lag!", have you ever used a galaxy nexus? Have you ever used ICS? If not, then why the heck do you have such an idea of which you have no basis of experience from?
I doubt it will lag seeing as i own a sgs 2 and this thing can't lagg on me. So why should a galaxy nexus with "better" firmware and practically equivalent hardware lagg?
Point being, all i see this thread as is a way to start a flame war.

Why would we? It looks like you're already trying so hard!
Lots of your points just don't make any sense. Especially things like saying the colours look better on an iPhone than on Super AMOLED Plus. Isn't that the main selling feature of the Amoled displays?
Anways, glad you're happy with your purchase. Not too glad that you cannot compare phones at all. But hey, you win some you lose some.
Agreed. I too have an SGS II and to say it's laggy is silly. The SGS II is the fastest phone to date. It was rated #1 device on Consumer Reports and Editor's Choice on a well known web site. This guy's post made me laugh so hard I spilled my coffee. Seeing the words freedom and IOS in the same sentence is histerical.

I though it sucked really bad. Not only it is lame but it rarely talks about the device itself and they kind of abused their simple idea which was used for the Galaxy S II.
An ad like this one would've worked like magic:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvUK2VmbO2I
But unfortunately, this just comes to show how corporate Samsung ruins simple ideas for the money. I bet all what they were thinking about was spending more money to justify the spots costs, while completely ignoring that simple is what works these days.
Only 3 threads so far on this? I predict 10
From the Beast : Galaxy Note
I like it very much, simple yet effective....

I liked the ad a lot.
A. It had the song "I Believe in a Thing Called Love," by The Darkness (LOVE THAT SONG).
B. It had Brian Urlacher
C. It had Miranda Kerr (YES!)
D. It showed the 2 MAIN features of the phone which truly distinguishes it from the iPhone - the 5.3" screen and the stylus without being over-technical. If you ever watch iPhone ads, they are never over-technical and focus more on design and simplicity, which Samsung must do to appeal to the non-techie masses. Have you ever seen an iPhone TV ad stating what speed is the processor or how many megapixels is the camera?
No, but they do show it actually being used for something other than dancing around in the street. You can show real-life usability without being too technical.

They did show usability:
1. How you can annotate Google Maps using the S-Pen
2. How you can do video chat (just like the iPhone) but without being on WiFi only.
3. How you can take a photo and doodle on the pic directly (in this case Brian Urlacher autographing is picture).

I'm USA people and I thought it was weird. I thought it did a poor job of selling the product. Instead of trying to knock Apple they should have focused on the next big thing and backed that up with the features. Either that or stick to knocking Apple. To many messages in too short a time presented with far too much ado.
I liked it. It wasn't the best but I guess that's the best it gets from Samsung?

I really think Bobby Farelly should have done the Me, Myself, and Irene approach. The galaxy note having a dual personality, a phone and a tablet. And a midget.

hey guys, i need your feedback.
galaxy note display is 1280x800 pixel right? as i understand it, that is the same resolution that is used in most android honeycomb tablets.
i would like to know if apps made for honeycomb tablets are compatible with galaxy note or not? because my main concern is the unique resolution for a smartphone that might not motivate devs to make apps compatible with it.
tell me your opinion or experience, guys. i am considering to buy this phone, so your review, opinion and experience are of utmost important to me.

like i heard, it is compatible, because tablet uses honeycomb firmware and note gingerbread atm. But ics (android 4) update will allow us to use tablet and smartphones applications without any incompatible problems ;D

you mean every app you want to install is compatible? even gameloft games? how many apps have you got installed on your note?
Games may be the biggest issue due to screen resolution. I don't use the phone for this but of the one mind game I have, the app itself is smaller than the actual screen so I have not used it since.
For general apps that follow the UI design principles to use device independant resolution they work fine. I am developing an application just now and it runs on QVGA upwards. On the Note I get a lot more shown on the screen but it is still perfectly usable on the QVGA phones too.
Cheers,
Dave...
I've had a couple of apps that don't display properly. With one major exception (robot unicorn attack) these have all been crappy little gimmicky apps. I'm sure the problem exists for other paid and 'high quality' apps, but I haven't seen it yet.

Then don't buy it!
Note that you could well have exactly the same sort of issues for any phone with a screen resolution beyond 800x480 (e.g. HTC Sensation, Galaxy Nexus etc).
Developers *should* be trying to make their applications resolution independent where possible, but this isn't always the case. However, I've had no serious compatibility issues with my Note thus far.
If you want surefire compatibility, get a Galaxy S II because that is probably compatible with the majority of applications.
Regards,
Dave

Don't wanna buy galaxy nexus because of its mediocre specs. I'm a specs crazy guy, I can't accept the fact that galaxy nexus uses the same gpu like sgs, and low MP count camera.
SGS 2 is the same like note, only with smaller screen.

so just the other day i've had my first experience with windows phone 7 while changing apn settings for a customer and i have to say, it's a respectable mobile platform. If i was forced to choose a non android phone, my next phone would be windows phone. So im just wondering others opinions
It's not bad, very usable. Too bad it doesn't support dual core yet.

It would be good in my opinion of it had a more modifying and customization expect. But it seems to be too empty and not very entertaining to me.

But, yes, it's a great OS. I have one, got my mom one who didn't want an iphone. It's great. But yes, the lack of customization is a downside, especially if coming from android. I think some themes in the way of background pictures or a lwp would be great, awesome for the people who have alot of tiles and therefore spend some time scrolling through the home screen. It's very intuitive with very little options, which like iOS, is why it's intuitive. Big reason I don't recommend android to people not able to pick up tech and "know" how to use it. It was a much needed change to save microsoft's mobile market. Too bad, I don't see it selling much. Walk into the store and the idiotic sales people will point you straight to an iPhone or Android device and sway you away from looking at the WP7. Then there is the "flashy" aspect. Walk in the store and ignore everyone and your eyes will be drawn to the cool factor of iOS and Android. Just my 2 cents and take it for what it's worth.
smooth and stable. I think, it lacks a few apps but there are alternatives.
