Samsung media hub on Gingerbread? - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a place I can download it to install it on my new Gingerbread?

I've found some older links but the APK seems to have been removed from the Marketplace and everywhere else that references it...wth? Samsung must be making money with this, why not make it available?

The android market on your phone has it all. What are you looking for that is not there?
You are not suggesting cracked apps are you?

Is there a site where you can download the apps via PC then push (SDK) them to your phone? Or do you have to download via phone first?

I am looking for a site to actually download the apk on the computer and not the phone. So far all the site I see only give you the option to download via phone using bar code or link.
Next question, Once an app is installed on device, are you able to pull the apk from the phone to your computer for backup?

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
I believe newer versions of it are called "market access". You can get it here: http://amip.tools-for.net/android/MarketAccess
In the future, please put questions in the dedicated Q&A forum, and remember that the forums are searchable - there are already threads about this question that have been here nearly since release.

market access doesn't alway work with every rom. I can be running an i9000 rom and still not be able to download some apps (Live Scores for example) when set to any of the other markets. I can install Eugene's rom based on the Vibrant and be able to download apps like Live Scores.

[Q] can't see lcd density changer in market.

Can some kind soul help me out here? I recently installed a new rom from docs kitchen and now some apps are not appearing in the market. I'm trying to find lcd density changer app. The free one is included in the custom rom but I want the paid version and the link in the app opens the market only for it to tell me that the app can't be found. Anyone else had this problem before? If so how was it fixed?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the link but it doesnt really help as you cant install from appbrain. After syncing with appbrain on my phone and cliocking on install I am taken to the market where the app cannot be found.
Is it possible the app is restricted by region? i.e. not available in the UK?
you can use SGS Tools and edit it with the .prop editor (edit build.prop)
and it's free :bigthumb:
I have discovered that the other day.thanks though.

found another link

Thanks, but doesn't work for me. If I use MarketEnabler, I can finde the music app in the Market, but it refuses to install, claiming that it's invalidly signed.
If I download the apk from the link above, package installer terminates with a simple 'not installed' message.
Rooted Euro Tab on Swisscom, Switzerland.
Rapax, have you installed honeycomb music player before that? If yes - delete it..

I get the same thing here after upgrading to Gingerbread (Overcome) - I used MarketEnabler to download it from the Market; happily running under Overcome 1.6.x (Froyo) but after Gingerbread all it does is force close upon running.

Yeah Google Music crashes each time since the Gingerbread update... Overcome and Stock too
Here too
Euro tab GSM, running GB overcome 2.0 beta 2
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
I pinned down the crashes to two reasons:
Obviously Samsung built our 2.3.3 on rather outdated code and modified some pieces of the mediaprovider...
Usually, the Stock-Music apk allows access to the MediaPlayBackService and Google temporarily revoked access in 2.3.3, so Samsung thought it would be a great opportunity to **** around with the existing code and Changed some things in the Stock MediaProvider-Service thingy
That's the major reason why the Google Music Beta crashes in 2.3.3 but works great in 2.2
So it is not a "Google Thing", it is a "Samsung Thing" and Samsung would have to fix that.. We all know that this won't be likely to happen, so there are two possibilities I see here... We fix it ourselves or someone clever ports the MediaProvider including access to the MediaPlayBackService from the current CyanogenMod 7.something builds to the Galaxy tab. I tried and failed as the modules crashed on boot and I had to reflash the whole system
Anyone interested in getting that done? I'd do it, but I've too little time at the moment to get it done properly :-/ it shouldn't be that hard anyways, I guess...
Someone needs to make this work. I have all my devices working beautifully with Google music without a problem except on my galaxy tab running overcome 2.0.

Have you tried deleting the application data and reboot then? :-/ I used the official market version btw. but that shouldn't make much difference... as I pulled it directly after the install from my tab.

Android market on I9023

Hi all,
About a month ago i bought my nexus s and i am very happy with it.
But i do have a problem. It seems to be stuck on market version 2.3.6 while a new version is available for weeks now.
I want to update it and i have tried everything google advices on their site but with no luck. Since i am not a fan of rooting and installing non official stuff i am kind of stuck.
Does anyone know a way to get the latest version without rooting?
Thnx,
Pele

You don't need to remove the old market, just download the apk and run/install it. Simple.
Thanx everyone, i found and installed the new market app.
But still i am wondering why google didnt push it to my nexus. They are trying to stop fragmentation but arent even distributing their own software properly.
