Hi All,
I found this really interesting so thought of sharing it with you all.
This is about a very interesting contest 'txtweb app2fame'. All we need to do is develop simple apps based on SMS which work without the internet.
We all have been creating apps but never thought of developing such applications that are accessible by millions as not everyone uses internet on phone. It hardly takes couple of hours to create such applications and txtweb gives us the opportunity to win prizes like a dream holiday, ipad etc...
Great opportunity for students and new start ups to become famous. Check the URL below for more information about the contest: app2fame. com
Hey that's a good news... Thanks for sharing...
You're right all of us have created such apps at some point and they are really easy to develop moreover txtWeb makes it much simpler... So all that we need is a great idea... I guess this the first such contest happening in India.. Many of my friends have already submitted few apps and I'm hoping to submit my share as well..
Bingo txtWeb

I am looking for a web development project to refine my skills. I'm short on ideas after completing the surprisingly unpopular yet unbelievably useful Trly.gd.
I will work only on anything useful to many people that can at the very least earn 15$ a year for the domain name. No need to monetize it, as long as it doesn't cost me (because I already pay ~200$/year for servers and domains).
Tell me, XDA-Developers, what would you like to see on the web? Let your imagination go wild!
All New Rom with Change log and screenshots..
All working application and games with sceenshot
I like http://trly.gd its just im in the habbit of typing in www.google.com. Marketing is the problem your having, people can be very lazy and sometimes need to be forced or otherwise motivated into using somthing until it becomes a habit.
Maybe you can make a win mo and/or android app for it, and continue to market it as an advanced search device. Let it be skinable, and invite people to upload their skins to share.
then you could even cook it into a rom.
Help people asking for stuff by directing them to trly.gd and the search results it produces. Remember Rome wasnt built in a day, and before Google was king there were yahoo and altavista who were usurped.
If you like i can also advertise it in my sig, prob wont help that much but at least its something.
anyway sorry if this sounds patronising but I do wish you the best of luck
regards
Chris

I know, marketing just isn't there, and I have a lot of stuff to do. It's still a fun project to learn web development.
I'm not in the WinMo scene anymore and I'm about to drop Android too (hardware sucks ATM), but I could make a lil' something for Windows Mobile users around. You know, Trly.gd has a mobile format
Hey everyone,
I figured that if I need a developer that is as passionate about mobile technology as I am, this is the best place to come. I have a business proposition. And if there are multiple people interested I am more than willing to organize a group for this purpose. I have a great idea, and know what I want. However I need a business partner that has the technical skills to setup a website. I will be able to tell more after, if you are interested, have signed a NDA. The idea is first and foremost dealing with Android, but will eventually encompass most major mobile OS.
If you are interested in hearing me out please contact me at [email protected]
I have a dream and a passion and would love to find someone equally excited about the above mentioned topics.
You ask yourself why am I coming here? Because I am asking initially for your most important resource, which is time. But together we can leverage that time into a good capital, which I hope will be able to benefit all developers.
Thanks,
Hans-Erik Stegeby
Hello xda,
I want to talk about all the fine users out there. They are the people who make our software alive by installing and using it. They are also the essence of every market out there by giving feedback and rating apps to make it easier for everyone to see good apps in a top list, but some of them are (yes, not all, there are also a lot of fine guys and girls out so, thank you!): the people who make me wonder if they should have a smartphone already!
I mean, I'm a developer for several years now, I'm into android developing for straight a year now and for the time I've seen so much c**p some users posted on apps which just aren't right. One time I've had a chat with a guy who had a problem with my app. Of course I helped him by looking into the source. After a couple of minutes I couldn't find any bugs so I've asked him which rom version he used. It turned out, that he was using his own crappy compiled version of gingerbread.
So instead of voting an app with one or two stars, leaving a no-brain-comment or behave like a teenage mutant monkey, you all should give the developer constructive feedback, like which rom do you use or which android version (especially in the root-tools category), so both sides of the ecosystem can take profit of it. At least use a working rom!
It seems like the audience should take a "how do I give proper feedback"-tutorial instead of a "how do I use this app?" - Introduction (but I guess that’s the problem with b2c software relationships. If you just make a little, single mistake, you'll get the bill multiple times for it).
This has to be said. I don't want to offend somebody but there are some people who aren't nice to developers as like the developers are to them.
So, respect the devs out there which are working in the spare time for you to develop nice applications and help 'em
Cheers!
I have to agree!
Thank you sir
Hi everyone my name is Andrew and i currently live in Colombia, im a 4th year Medical Student and i love windows phone and all of their features.
As you might think i cant spend much time learning about the development process on windows phone, but i have time, to think about how to change and improve windows phone.
Most of you guys, Developers, state that you have the tools to develop, but sometimes you run out of ideas. With that said, i think that a great idea, with a great developer, makes a really great app. So, i have just 2 ideas, for now, to develop what i think will be one of the greatest apps in windows phone this year, you might trust me or not, but i can ensure you that the concept will catch you in my net.
I know that im a new user, and that i havent posted alot here, but trust me i really want to work, of course i want windows phone to become the greatest mobile OS out there and also, being real, i need some money. Then of course we will split the benefits with the developer, and i know that the idea is worth somehow less than the development itself. I'm a clever guy and i know how the world works.
So if you are a Serious Developer, commited, and willing to form a team that will change the way our windows phone works and feels, please leave a comment, or send me an INBOX.
Thank you all for your attention,
Andrew
Hi All!
I'm quite new android games developer. I'm looking for developers community feedback on my first "serious" project.
So, as I'm keen on brain teasers I wanted to create some puzzle game. I've started my research and found out one of old style games called Freeways. So I thoutght that I can improve it from design and car behaviour perspective.
For last couple of weeks I have few thousands of downloads but very few feedback!
And I don't know should I upgrade it further or there is no chance to find my audience....
I've spent like 1 year to make it and absolutly dissapointed that there is now feedback from players. Should I start another project? Another 1 year?
Please advise... Thank you in advance!
Link to my game is here:
Motorways mind logic puzzles - Apps on Google Play
Stack the states in brain teaser IQ puzzle. Memory & thinking car traffic maze.

WYSIWYG.
Feedback, yes well here you go...
Looks like a data miner to me
No reason to know my precise location or browser history, share with 3rd parties or for me not to have the option to delete collected data.
I wouldn't even install it... based on that alone.
The games I have are all firewall blocked
My favorite apps have zero permissions and never request internet service. They are also some of the best.
Hi Blackhawk! That's a feedback already. This is set up of ads mediation I'm using. Probably it stops other users aswell. Probably I need to find another mediator

I know you want sponsorship and to generate revenue. I can understand that. It's a tough business. Poweramp has a good business model and is one of my few gladly paid for apps. A lot of bang for the buck and nothing comes close to it for a stand alone music player.
Unfortunately from a user prospective that degree of data mining is potentially harmful. Personally I won't tolerate it... no app is worth that. All social media and shopping apps are banned from my devices. Done that for a decade now. One of the first things I targeted when I started using Androids.
