Searched but didn't find anything really relevant in 8 pages. Flashed CM7.0.3 & DarkTremor A2SD. In MarketPlace under Myapps section I only see purchased apps and not free apps previously downloaded. I ran market doctor from titanium backup and it says found no recoverable market links. On the MarketPlace website, under My Library, I can see all of my free apps and they say installed.
I ran a test and downloaded a free app on phone's marketplace, showed up in my apps section of marketplace on phone, rebooted for testing purposes, and the free app is still present there, although it is labeled as "free" and not as "installed" like on froyo.
I don't remember any of my apps recently being updated on phone, looked at titanium backup as an example and older version installed compared to what is available on marketplace.
Am I going to have to bite the bullet and reinstall every single app from hand through marketplace on phone in order to restore listing under myapps and get updates/update notifications?
Doesn't sound right. When you restored with titanium backup the apps went back to your phone but not the market links this is it? If yes then why don't you just do force attach to market or try and see if you can redo the install trough TB and get all the market links. And this is probably a stupid question but are the market links backed up in titanium?

Hi everyone,
just wondering as I did my first order (BlueEx) for my Dream machine.
What happens if I format my device (install another cooked rom)? do I lost my application? do I download it again for free as I have the same gmail account? is there any way of grabing my apk install file?
thanks for your help, sure it's just 1.4€ for the moment, but if I went for documents2go or any other more expensive app (wisepilot....), I would not format my device anymore!
paid apps can be downloaded from the market again at no cost, but yes you will have to reinstall everything.
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knew how to get your paid apps. moved from original gmail account to another gmail account. (Going to delete original account) Thanks.
You can pull the app off of your device using adb pull. I believe some backup apps can also backup apk files onto sdcard. One thing to note is that if you reinstall your own backup from a file rather than the market, you will not be able to get updates from the market. Only apps installed using the market app will show up on the Downloaded list (and thus be updatable without a repurchase).
Also, if the app in question is a protected app (not all paid apps are) then you will need root to pull it out of app-protected.
I wonder if there isn't some way to transfer your Market app licenses from one gmail account to another. You might have to contact Android Market support about it.

I figured it out, first you wipe in Recovery then Reboot, log into original Gmail account (The one with your purchased Apps.) go into Market and redownload your purchased Apps., now get out of Market and go to Settings/Applications/Manage applications, scroll down till you get to Google Apps, click on that and press Clear data now Reboot and go back to Market and it'll ask you to log in again, log in with new Gmail account and all your stuff will sync, Contacts ect... and after a few minutes your purchased Apps. will show up in My downloads.

Thank you for the Tutorial - it worked for me until I wanted to install a Update of a purchased App:
they are all shown in My downloads & Market tells me that there is a Update available. When I click update it shows me the Buy button & the Price of the app?!
What can I do now? Any ideas?
alright i've never had to wipe my phone before, but going from cyanogen's 4.0.4 to the latest 4.2.3.3 is creating some problems. I have a few questions before I do so.
1. how do I backup the market list so I can redownload all the apps and reregister through market?
2. what happens to all my current applications on apps2sd? should I just format that partition?
Easiest way is to use mybackup pro or backup for root users. But what I normally do is copy the apps/apps-private folder, push that back and redownload the paid ones when I have free time so it shows an update, when it works... =p
i already use mybackup pro, but I want to be able to use the market to redownload rather than install a bunch of APKs that dont register with the market for updates.
The market will remember all your paid apps based on your google account.. Just open the market and click the downloads tab to grab them again. It usually remembers unpaid apps too, but I've had a couple of wipes where it didn't.
isnt there a file I can save that remembers the market downloads?
Not that I'm aware of, but I've wiped hundreds of times and all except maybe 1 or 2, it's remembered everything on the downloads tab.
I'm on the stock N1 and want to unlock the bootloader, which will force a wipe.
Whilst I can backup the installed apps to .apks on the sdcard with several apps as far as I know when they are restored they will not be 'linked' to the market, so I won't get update notifications for them.
'backup for root users' and 'titanium backup' can back up the market db, but you need to be root in the first place, which N1 users cannot be.
Is there a way to backup the market db without root?
Or maybe 'fix' the market data during/after the reinstall of the .apks?
Back them up to the sd. When you root reinstall and use atrackdog to check for any updates. If you do update the app in the market then it will show from that point on through the markets update notification.
Or... You can download Titanium Backup from market
EDIT... Sorry, it says you need root for it... I coulda sworn it didnt say that before...
both mybackup pro and app manager can backup aps to sd card without root.. then you can use thm to restore after rooting.

He is 100% correct about this but if you look for app manager it is now call app monster. The pro or free versions will work.
@lgkahn and @jerrycycle
Thanks guys, but I'm sure I used MyBackup to do this ages ago with my G1. It restored the apps OK but they didn't show up as 'installed' in the Market so Market doesn't give you updates.
I notice MyBackup now has a 'root' section in the preferences which includes a 'Market db' option. The only other apps I've seen that can do it require root so it looks like maybe it can't be done :-/
Failing that I'm now looking for the restore solution with the least clicks, then jerrycycle's idea of ATrackDog (thanks!). AppMonster doesn't have a batch install, App Manager (by Amazing Droid) does and pops up the usual install dialog so thats 2 clicks per app.
AppBrain looks cool, you can make a backup list of your apps on the web, then resync after wipe, but it does a market search for each one which is quite a lot of clicks It does note protected apps though, which the others can't dump so I'd loose track of them.
hmmm not going well. Market shows all apps I had installed but as 'free', it thinks they're available to install. If I install the app from SD - I've tried MyBackup, Astro and AppManager - it is available in the launcher but still listed as 'free' in the market.
Looks like only way to do it is to go down the list in Market and manually install each from there.
see title ^^
Apps restored from backup, but backup were corrupted.. could save app+data but no market link so no update notifications, doesnt wanna "over install" 40apps from market (search name, install though already installed)
aTrackDog e.g. shows all apps and if i click them , opens them in market.. but i didnt found a way that it just adds the market link to the allready installed application^^

Look up Titanium Backup.
Open the app, press Menu and select Market Doctor.
This would only restore market links from apps i've backed up with titanium backup with market links. But they come from nandroid and went missing :-/
Titanuim backup not restoring. Links for me. Donate version.

try installing a new app (you can unistall it later)
normally it will recover then.
hey, i wanted to find an answer to this as well. i don't think there's a way to do it if you didn't back up the links.
before flashing a new ROM, i pulled all the .apk's from my phone so that i could install them via "adb install" later. they installed fine, but didn't show up in market.
i think there's a database that holds links between the market and apps you install via the market. titanium backup will back up those links, and restore them later. it doesn't "create" missing links by scanning the apps you have installed and then linking them to the market. it only restores links that it backed up.
installing a new app to "refresh" the market links only works if you've restored previously backed-up links.
if someone can prove me wrong that would be great, cuz i hate installing from the market.. so damn slow cuz it tries to do a bunch of stuff all at once. plus it's easier to script the adb installs.
From settings go to Applications, Manage, click All select market and delete the data. Reboot phone and it should rebuild its databases
Sent from my HTC Dream using XDA App
There is one on the market for free, eris market fixer or similar.
Worked for me
i have this weird problem:
first, i'm running CM7 from a verygreen's SD card
it was running fine but i had some force closes so i resintalled from the begining (reflashed verygreens image), then installed CM7.0.2, installed gapps, and when the market was downloading all of my apps, my system crashed down, and had to reboot.
After that, i havent been able to see my free apps in the "My Apps" tab of the market, i can see my paid apps.
tried to reflash again verygreens image to delete everything, upgraded to n59, still, only see my paid apps. tried restore them with titanium, and they restore, but the "Attach to market" option does not work for me
when i log to the web market, it shows that all my apps (free and paid) as if they were already installed
has anyone else seen this behaviour? any idea?
thanks

Not really, but you might try this... Install and run Appbrain, sync up with it, etc.. then go into the Market app.
When I was messing with ROMs a while back with apps already on my SD ext partition they'd show up to run but not in the Market, but running Appbrain always "attached" them for me. Did it several times.
Using CM7, I was experiencing the same issue, but any new app I downloaded, free or paid, would then show up in the market. I wasn't too concerned, as I only had 5 free apps from the market. Amazon Market, which is where most of my apps are, showed all without an issue.

thanks a lot, this attached all my restored apps (with TitatiumB) to the market again.
missing apps still fail to be re-downloaded, but not a problem since i have a full backup of my apps, just have to restore them and reattach with appbrain
