a quick noob question sorry for this but when ever we flash a theme do we need to clear cache and dalvic cache?
thanks in advance...
I like the themes, I'm coming from the OCK theme flashed over Apex 6.4.1. A couple comments on your GB theme.
1. The extended power menu seems to be a bit out of order. For example, when I click on Recovery it takes me to Download mode instead.
2. Maybe it's just me, but I think the icon you have on the notification window for Sound vs. Vibrate when Sound is enabled is more of a no-sound icon. It would make more sense without the X next to the speaker.
3. This one is totally random, but I prefer to have the Vibrate icon on the status bar icon be gray instead of GB green. Not really sure why even, I think I've just gotten used to OCK's setup.
Thanks for all you bring to the Captivate community! I liked your JS8 ROM best and I think your JVO ROM is the best too! I have no idea why your ROM has 4 stars in the development forum... definitely worthy of 5.

* Only Flash Over Noobnl's Andromeda Galaxy ROM unless you are adventurous *
- I have been told that it works fine on top of other de-odexed roms, that is just my disclaimer -
I have re-named this as it is no longer a tease. It only themes the framework-res,twframework-res and settings apks at this point. I plan on theming the dialer if I get it figured out DONE.
Note: this theme is a work in progress and I will try and keep it updated as much as possible. It started with some png's from Riptide9's NEW FROYO2.2 for Evo found on xda and grew from there. Thanx for the inspiration Riptide9 your theme is awesome
I have only tested this over noobnl's andromeda galaxy ROM but seeing as how its de-odexed it might just work over any other de-odexed ROM as well. YMMV
Be sure to nandroid backup in clockwork recovery before flashing in the same.
If you like some of the mods I have put in this theme please visit the links where they came from and show some thanks to the devs, I didn't come up with this stuff on my own!
Blue Minimalism v1.3 I have done more theming to the three apk's listed above and if I did anymore it wouldn't be true to its name. I have ported the battery mod from the Desire2.2ROM found in the link below. I put this on my phone last night and it keeps in sync with the battery widget I am running but might not need anymore

BlueMinimalism v1.3.1 lockscreen mod This version has the AOSP slider lockscreen in it ported from the link below. Note: first couple of boots might take a little longer than usual but after that its normal again. I will probably theme this lockscreen a bit later but I need sleep right now...ok got some sleep and it is now themed. I also removed the network name from the lockscreen.

Thanks to chibucks for the haptic feedback removal on the AOSP lockscreen, he got it going on the moment and helped me get it going on Epic. I had an issue with my first try so please report any issue you may have. Here is a .zip to add it to the AOSP version of this theme and a .zip to restore if issues arise for you.
no haptic AOSP lockscreen mod.zip
haptic AOSP lockscreen restore.zip
*note-the dialer addition causing f/c should be sorted, still need to work on phone and contacts apks but the majority of theming isn't in those two*
Blue Minimalism Dialer v1.0 This is a stand alone dialer theme that changes some more green stuff to blue along with different dialer buttons. This is also a work in progress but there isn't much more to do so feedback is welcome, then I will stick it in the theme if thats what yall want. I started with the buttons I found here and went from there.
Blue Mini Dialer v1.0
Wow, this is freaking sexy. Big improvement over the original.
pure diesel....well done sir
Best theme so far imo thank you so much
Thanks. Is there anyway you could post the standalone battery mod?
Thanks for the upload! I just installed the zip using clockwork mod but when it boots up I got nothing but a bunch of force close windows. I did a backup so I'm not worried but I would like to know how to properly install this theme cause it looks sick!

What ROM are you running? If you are trying to install this on stock android it will cause issues as it is de-odexed and stock isn't. Need a little more info, are you running any kernels or home replacements? The more info about what you have or have not done to your phone the better the help you can get.
how hard would it be to do a....for lack of better explanation "GTX" styled. i like a simplistic white rom. if anyone can point me in the right direction to start, ill dabble my hands a little bit!

All I can say about theming is I had a moment for about 8 months and just did a lot of reading/trial and error. If you want to make your own themes be prepared to do a LOT of odin flashing/battery pulling/hair pulling/sleepless nights...

Hmmm...if you are on Noobnl Andromeda v1.3.0 that is a kernel only. You need to be on his ROM v1.0.3. The numbers being the same is purely coincidence and not a conspiracy. Check here and make sure this is what you have flashed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=779373 and if not do so.

You're the f'ing man! Theme looks even better in person...Anyway you can explain to me the difference b/w rooting, flashing the kernel and flashing the ROM? I just got my phone a week ago and immediately began researching and "hacking" it but I thought rooting meant the same as flashing the ROM. I understand if you don't, being that this a not a general forum but thought I'd ask....

Root- gives superuser permissions and let's you remove bloatware like unwanted sprint apps
Kernel- gives cpu perfomance enhancements
ROM- final stage of customizing your phone with addons, tweaks and themes plus removing bloatware in one step

This theme is really nice and i can confirm that it works on the AOSP Magic rom with or without touchwiz and the lock screen mod works on it as well. Oh its the AOSP Magic version 0.2 rom
nice.. flashed lastnight and love this... andromeda/mixup oc kernel.. flawless
Thanks!!
@Raiderep

Thanks

To ensure complete compatibility, this is now a full aosp build compiled from jt1134's source . For anyone interested, my overlay vendor for royalbread is available on github.
As far as installation is concerned.....if you are already running aosp there should be no need to wipe. Flash rom then flash the themed gapps package below. If you are coming from a touchwiz based rom you should follow standard procedure - wipe data/cache, flash rom, install one of jt's kernels from here, and install themed gapps package below.
For those of you wondering why I chose to follow OMJ's lead and include a themed full build/rom, my answer is simple.....compatibility. I found a couple of issues when flashing the previous hack-theme by itself over different flavors of vanilla froyo (i.e. nextheme). Those issues no longer exist. This should make your life and my life much easier.
As for the theme itself.....in my mind it is pretty much complete. If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations, however, feel free to submit them below.
***I have no interest in making a touchwiz version of this theme, but if anyone else would like to feel free to have at it.***
Update v4
- Added rotary/tab lockscreen toggle to Spareparts. You can now toggle the lockscreens without the need to reboot. Credit to cvpcs from ccroms for the base code. BIG thanks to jt1134 for helping me locate a couple of pesky typos in my code that were messing up the compile. EDIT: moved rotary toggle to the top of the extras menu in SpareParts which is probably where I should have put it to begin with (see pic above).
- Tab answer for incoming calls is now the default, but I have included a Phone.apk below with rotary answer for those that prefer it. Just adb push to /system/app or move with a file manager.
- Thank god I have the day off tomorrow because I stayed up way too late tonight working on this.
Update v3.5
- Added an alternate tab unlock version for those that prefer it over the rotary (like myself). Phone.apk also modded to use tab controls for incoming calls on that version. BTW: the alternate version maintains previous cm features added by jt1134 (i.e. music controls on lockscreen & menu button unlock option in spare parts). No need to worry about that.
Update v3 (3/6/11)
- Assigned reboot option its own image so that it no longer defaults to use the power off image.
- Removed 'Verizon Wireless' text on lockscreen and statusbar expanded. Replaced with theme name.
- Themed pretty much every appwidget that comes stock (i.e. deskclock, voicesearch, geniewidget, calendar provider, etc.).
- A few more image changes that I can't remember atm. Now to focus on merging updates with SunnyBread vendor.
Update v2 (3/4/11)
- Cleaned up a few images framework-res.apk.
- Edited progress_horizontal.xml to include the rich blue of the theme (it was a tad too light imo).
- Uploaded overlay vendor to my github for easy upkeep.
Credits
- jt1134 - we would be aosp-less without him.
- OMJ - for the gingerbread overlay which is the base for mine. His guide on compiling from source was also very helpful.
- sonnysekhon - grabbed a few images from his nexus s theme.

Thanks for posting and yes I am always making minor changes to the theme. As more chefs get their version of EC05 posted. Then I will know what is needed in the theme to make it work. Since midNight was the 1st, I jumped on his rom 1st. When ACS and Bonsani get EC05 verson posted I then will release a black & glass version for their rom.
Red Star Theme ready for EC05 by ACS 1.1.0 & midNight V5 roms.
205 images battery image in Framework-re.apk
If you like red then this is a sweet theme. Enjoy TW671
So this will not work on the roms with journaling enabled? Or it is just untested?

When ACS releases the journal turned on and I can test the rom to see what changes if any I will have to make to have this theme work. MidNight has released a version, but I have been waiting for more roms to come out before I start making major changes. It's one to make a theme that works for all rom. But when you have to make changes for several different roms and I have 4 themes out there. It's a alot work, so I was playing the waiting game.

I would yes since midNight rom is based on Bonsani. But not tested by me to confirmed for sure. As stated by OP for ACS, any theme that does not change the service.jar should work. All of my themes do not make any changes to this file.

There is only 1 problem with this theme. The Bonsani & midNight roms use 205 battery icons and no reboot menu options. ACS has the reboot option but only use 9 charge icons. If installed on the ACS rom you get 205 battery icons but a battery icon wil be where the reboot.png should be. I am working on having both work, the reboot.png displaying the correct icon and having the 205 battery icons.

Myself, I see very litttle or no problems with the newer EC05 rom. I always suggest a factory reset along with with a total wipe of the system before trying to flash a new rom. Starting fresh will remove most problems that people are having. I understand the pain of having to re-install all your apps and data. But if you want to give newer rom a chance and have fewer or no problems then that is the only way to know if a rom has problems.

Glad you like it and thanks for the comment.
New Glass added to EC05 Ext4 Rom
Should work on all EC05 rom except on problem noted in the 1st post.
Very quick as always, jstine! Thanks!

I never even noticed and have been using this theme for two days with SRF 1.1 and it's working and looking awesome. I do see the '1' for the Reboot option but it's honestly no big deal. And nice to see the transparent Gmail app included =)
Fantastic job with this theme and Black Alien - by far my two favorite themes for the Epic!

v2.5 EI22 Mods:

v3.0 EI22 Mods:
No Full Battery pop up
Animated Pulldown w/no batt popup
Other Flashable apps:
AOSP MMS
EH17/EH06/EG22 Pulldown Animation with Scrollable Quick Panel
EH17/EH06/EG22 Pulldown no Animation with Scrollable Quick Panel
I've also ran this on EG22 roms as well.
Bugs: null/null on the lockscreen when the music player isn't running.
EH06: Tested on Stock Deodexed EG22 and EH06, Random Rom Hawk v2, and ERA Unnamed with no issues.
EH06: Tested on Urban Decay with one issue. You need to remove email.apk from the theme before you install it.
EH17: Make sure you are familiar with issues reported in Maddoggins mod thread and Crawrjs AIO thread.
EH17: Both Urban Vendetta & Hurricane Rom, Remove Talk.apk from the zip before installing. Both roms have the voice and video version which will cause fc's if the one from the theme isn't removed.
EH17 Lockmod Removal:
I didn't want to rebuild the whole theme just yet so it's a patch the keeps crt, battery mod, overscroll, and adds the scrollable quickpanel, but it has standard animations (I forgot to put the fly ins back in, sorry). It's made up of the framework-res.apk, settings.apk, and the 3 jar files.
Instructions:
This is made to remove from the theme so:
Flash v2.2 theme (If you're not already on it)
In the TSM parts settings: get your settings in there set the way you want. You won't be able to change these later.
Flash the patch.
You will now only have the Epic lock screen.
EH17 v2.3 Changes and instructions.
Wow, where to start with the changes this time around.
Thanks to maddoggin, we now have 11 lockscreen, and Mikey, you get your puzzle lock back in this version.
Blacked out gtalk w/Voice and video!
The transparent MMS is back.
Re did the progress bars to green as it is on Honeycomb.
Included the Voice command and Voice talk. Just awesome apps everyone should have.
I did not update the market yet. It was not cooperating with me at all. Also not including google + as that app is a royal pain in the a$$.
I would recommend you flash this on a fresh rom. Please do not post any issues until you try that.
Gmail or Gtalk fc's: If this happens, make sure there is only one installed in the system/app folder. If you do not know which ones to delete, delete both and reflash the theme. You can also fix plenty of fc issues by wiping the data on that app.

Yup, I'm on the same.
Thanks Shane, few ?'s
I still just want your icons on the notification only, such as the signal, wifi, and etc. Someone on a different thread gave me an answer as to what I needed, but i don't know if simply replacing the right files will brick my phone, or go through.. lol. I'm Deodexed on EG22. I also gave it more of a thought, as to I should just give the whole theme a shot, perhaps enjoying it for a while, would change my mind, I already have a nandroid backup, just wondering, is it just as simple to uninstall as it is to install? or Do I have to Nandroid Restore if I ever choose to remove the theme? Just like to tinker with things, I do appreciate your work. So much that I only want to take a piece of it, and apply it to my own custom experience. =P
Shane, just wanted to let you know that I flashed the theme with no issues. Must say...the theme...well...it's KICK ASS. Awesome job bro, keep up the great work.

You could just try flashing the systemui.apk for the signal bars, but the battery mod it in the framework and for that you'll need the .jar files.
To get rid of it, I would flash maddoggins stock 8lock mod and add the stock version of the apps I themed to the system/app folder of the zip.
Thanks

For some reason, this theme doesn't want to apply to RandomROM 2.3 HAWK v.2 ROM based on EG22.

Alright, let's update this. Someone KANGed my Dialpad uploaded before. Yeah, shame... no credit given.
Single theme, made specifically and works for both Zeus v3n and v3b. But will work also on any deodexed ROM like Marvel.
The final puzzle of the port have met to terms. jasonevil owner of Ice9 Theme agreed to use his materials. I still have to resort to ICS Theme by sonnysekhon though.
If you like this theme, please appreciate their work @:
ICE9 THEME by jasonevil
ICS THEME by sonnysekhon
DOWNLOAD:
ICS TRANSPARENT - Zeus v3b/v3n
ICS BLACK - Zeus v3b/v3n
V2 (GW02) is on 2nd post.
FEATURES:
1% battery increments
Centered time and date
Custom Transparent and Black status bar (2 options)
Rearranged Toggle Icons (Sound is centered)
Custom Pull Down (backgrounds and fonts)
Custom spinners from MIUI
Some icons from MIUI
ICS blue description colors
Custom USB connect/disconnect image
Some things I might forget...
Flash it in CWM, no wipe necessary. To ensure smooth installation, remove previous theme if you have. Flash Zeus again then flash this theme.
NOTE: Didn't change Menu Background, Menu font color, Menu icons (looks awful once mixed with other app menu default icons).
NOTE: I made a mistake in the updater script, but the single package extraction directory might have been enough as it didn't cause any problems.
will add more screenshots

Be advised that there are additional apps and .jar in the zips (mms, LGHome, android.policy.jar).
If you don't use or like them, open the zip by double clicking, right click the said app then delete.
android.policy.jar is for Marvel ROM who wants Extended Power Menu.
Credit goes to huexxx and dxdiag32 for the additions.

Thanks bros, and sorry for the spinner. Will update it once time permits. Or if you know how to decompile, slap some spinners you want or modify in UOT kitchen. I believe there are spinners available there. But don't use/flash UOT zip, drag and drop apk's to correct folder, zip to zip (UOT zip to ICS zip). Just a precaution. Thanks for the support.

Thanks, i am considering it. But there's MMS and phone/contacts apk from chinese ICS theme. Do they look far from each other? Didn't flash that one just grabbed the battery for a test. Let me check, then let's do something about it. Since this is a port, Dialpad and MMS would be easy.
thanks again.
Really nice theme bro. But I find the icons on the status bar too far away from each other. Like there's lots of space in between them. Other than that, it's really great!
I can provide the modified files and Phone.apk Contacts.apk, they sold a large photo of the contact during the call.
