Try booting into recovery and doing a factory reset that way. Turn the device off, then hold down the N button and power button at the same time to get into recovery.

well i want to keep CM7 on the internal memory i just want to unlink my gmail account, so whenever i sell it, the person that will recieve the nook wont have my email and access to my market account

Yes, the method I showed you will keep CM7 on the internal memory. A factory reset just wipes the all the application data and things like cache. It will take the ROM back to like it was the first time you booted it up.
Are you running Clockworkmod recovery?

Cant wipe all data with factory reset or Odin 1 click!!! HELP

Hi, Im trying to exchange my phone and Im having issues with getting the phone bone stock. I used odin 1 click, did a factory data reset, and all my pictures, app folders and various other things are still on the internal SD card. I was using titanium backup, I think thats the cause (not sure though)
I also just flashed JH3, super rooter, and the OC kernel. But as far as I can tell, those are back to factory. I just cant wipe all my data and I dont know if doing it manually will clear up everything.
Suggestions/questions? Thanks!
I even tried the master clear. I can still see files for shootme, sl4a, clockworkmod, update.zip's, and tons of other folders including busybox
Did you try connecting your phone to your computer, mounting the sd card, then open the driver than your sd card is on and manually delete the files that way? You can move the titanium back up to an external sd card and see if that helps.
Go to Titanium Backup support and shoot them a pm, they got back to me within a day when I had questions if you think it's related to that.

I can do that, But what Im worried about is all the application data (including data for apps that require root) wont be deleted. Im not sure exactly what I would have to do to remove that as well. I wanted to leave it there, so that if I did manage to wipe it, Id know for sure everything was gone.
Ill also try sending them a message. Is it on that forum site they link to? Its not very clear as to how to contact them

I pm'd Shazd, I have the pro donated version so I had everything backed up, moved the folder for Titanium Backup and the folder for Titanium license to my exteral card. Then I flashed with Odin to stock and swapped my phone for a new one. Then I put the sd card in the new phone, connected to my computer and moved the files to the internal sd, installed Titanium from the market and when it installed my entire backup was there, settings, apps, and data were all there. I did a restore and everything was just as my old phone. Then I installed Unleash The Beast, the cool battery indicator, thanks to Designgears and the rest is history. When I flashed with Odin, all evidence of root were gone. AT&T didn't even check the phone, all I said was random shutdowns and a crack in the screen and they swapped it.
I have the paid donate version as well. I mean, I have the backup saved to my microsd and on my computer, Its just weird, I mean for some reason its not wiping. Im literally trying everything. I had a backup with clockwork mod and I re-rooted with 1 click root so that I could run that... It may be super rooter, Im starting to think thats more the case. But I really am just stumped
I flashed with Odin3 one click, maybe that's the difference. What did you use exactly?

Both versions lol. 1-click and version 1.0 or whatever by flashing the stock firmware Jh6 from samsung-firmwares.com. I even tried a factory data reset
It may just be files in my internal SD card themselves that arent being deleted... but Im not really sure
It didn't wipe all of my info when I did master clear and then doing the one click wipe. I'm bit sure why it wouldn't either but it did remove most of what I wanted gone.
Sweet life
Huh... Well I did a bunch of clear cache things, wiped my internal sd, and went throught my phone with root explorer and deleted whatever else I found. Wow that was a huge hassle
I think the best thing to do in the future is clear all user data through clockwork, then use odin for master clear then odin start to do it all. It is a hassle that's for sure.
The SD cards (internal and external) are not cleared with a full system wipe. When you delete all data through a system clear, it deletes everything stored internally to apps - in the phone memory where apps are installed.
Although the internal SD card is not really an SD card, the system treats it as an SD card. You can unmount both internal and external SD cards and then format them - that will wipe all data. Follow that with a system reset or Odin 1 click recovery and everything on your phone is factory new.
The phone is behaving as designed.

[Q] Books Missing From Library

Currently, all of my content/books are missing form the library. Anyone else having similar issues ?
Here is the odd part..
If I wipe data and start over, all of my books come back into the library, however, within 30 seconds of being online, they all disappear.
guess I'm alone lol
Do you have an we card in the nook? Did you root it at one point? And if you did root it when you say you reset the nook did you wipe the data and do the 8 failed boot wipe?

what's a we card? if you meant SD card, then yes. I have an 8gb class 10. it is rooted, and I did wipe system and data, with stock recovery and clockwork.

Delete everything off internal SD?

I did a fresh install to FF 2.8 from another ROM.
I want to have the internal SD exactly like how I had it when I flashed for the first time. I think there was like 3 or 4 main core folders and that was it.
I tried doing a master reset to clear the SD by putting "*2767*3855#" but for some reason it's not working...
Any ideas?

Odin master clear.
Sent from my CM7 powered captivate
Wouldn't that bring me back to stock? Sorry, not to familiar with it. Only used it a few times when I first flashed.
I want to keep my custom ROM but just reset my internal SD.
I understand what I'm trying to do is just a "GSM reset" but would they bring me back to stock and take off my ROM? Even then, why isn't it working?
master clear does the same thing as formatting the internal sd card....odin is NOT required for that
Can't I just go into menu --> settings --> sd card and phone storage --> unmount internal storage card --> format internal storage card.
Would that safely remove all of my crap on my internal and still leave me safe with root access on my rom?
I don't think a master clear will take you back to stock... though I have never tried it I assume (haha) it will just delete everything and not also take you back to stock It couldn't be to hard to reflash it? Though I've never tried FF
right all format sd card

Well, it worked.
Have only the 3 main things on my SD and that's it. Feels great to start fresh and have nothing else on there.
Appreciate the fast replies guys.

No, it will not. I actually tried this while using cognition and ended up with a soft brick. If you want to clear your internal sd, what is wrong with flashing to stock, doing a master clear, and loading your rom again? Just backup your stuff. This is a typically failproof method and will get you to the place you want to be.

[Q] Reverting Nook Color HELP PLEASE

So I bought a used (barely) nook color off of craigslist today for 200 with a screen protector and 8 GB transcend class 6 microSD. The guy I bought it from had his google account on it though so I tried to remove it. Basically I did the imaging through terminal (i cantp ost a link) and put the new stuff on and now it says my memory stick is damaged (even though it mounts on my computer) and it freezes my NC whenever it is in
I'm basically wonder, HOW CAN I GET MY CM7 2.3 NC to reset itself so I can put my own account on it. I have searched but can't find anything that good, as I have clockwork, but the rom is installed ON the NC internal, not on the microSD...Please help me out in some kind of step by step way. I rooted my droid eris myself, but starting with it pre-rooted has messed me up.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1030227 start with this thread.
You should have ROM manager on there already. Reflash CM7 and wipe data...should take you to a fresh install.
Sent from my NookColor using XDA Premium App
So what step do I start out if I have clockwork mod on there already? I dont have recovery though.
Go into your programs and open ROM Manager (this assumes that you already have clockworkmod installed). Make sure that you have a micro SD card in the Nook with your desired CM7 build (either nightly or stable). Then Click on Install ROM from SD Card. Click on the ROM that you want to flash. It will then give you the option to Backup Existing ROM and/or Wipe Data and Cache. Go ahead and select Wipe Data and Cache. Hit OK and the Nook will do the rest automagically. (ROM Manager may request Superuser status, go ahead and grant it or it will not work). After you regain control, you should have a fresh, clean install of CM7 to work from.

[Q] I can ONLY boot to recovery

Hi,
I was happily using my blue-dot NC with CM7 Nightly-177, as suddenly it started to boot ONLY to recovery (CWM 3.2.0.1).
I had used the NC, then put into a neoprene type cover, and put all in a soft bag, and carried it in the car and when I wanted to power the NC on, I was in recovery..
SDCard was intact, could read and copy the contents in my PC.
Tried everything including trying to install CM7 from the sdcard anew multiple times.
It boots from the sdcard, I wipe data, I wipe cache, I wipe dalvik cache, I find and install zip, I install gapps, everything goes OK.. I power down, take the sdcard out. I powerup.. I have the green logo, then the recovery...
What could I be doing wrong?
I'm really pissed off, and thanks for any help.
I wouldn't have wiped data. (I hope you have a backup.) Since it will boot into recovery off the eMMC, put a nightly on a non booting SD card and try again and only wipe Davlik. Normally when updating with ROM Manager that is all you need to wipe. You also might want to flash the gaaps .zip again if you find the market missing after you get back into CM7.
Seemed like you flashed ROM manager into eMMC.

Well, I had asked the same question at androidtablets.net, few days ago, and I was told do take this route, wiping the data and all.
BTW, I have a backup yes..

Yes, multiple times with different zips..
It is always, the green Cyanogen logo, says loading, a little flicker, and the amber menu..
That is very odd. Possibly you have a corrupted image on your card. Have you tried creating the bootable image all over again?
Dumb question..... is it fully charged?

It is even on the mains.
I have tried creating the bootable drive more than once. The image is the one that I have used for the first time..(1gb_clockwork-3.2.0.1-eyeballer)
I will try reverting to stock, and then install once more. If not, I will try to boot from the sdcrad (double boot).
Either I am missing some very basic step, or it is really odd..

Patruns, now I have a nook color e-reader ver 1.2..
Before trying once more I want to check with you which image, which nightly, and which gapps should I use, and maybe from where to download..
I have a 4 GB Sandisk sdcard.
Do you want to install CM7 to the internal memory (eMMC) or just running it off the uSD?
You have to know what you want to do first.

Of course I would like to install to emmc..
I assume you have a brand-new (or like brand-new) v.1.2 NC and you don't want to deal with its partitions.
1. I never try that 3.2.0.1 from eyeballer, but it should be good. Just make sure you not get the corrupted one during download
2. Get the Win32DiskImager old version, r0.15 or something
3. Create flashable uSD (i'm sure you know how to)
Make sure it's good (there should be 4 files in the boot uSD)
4. Get the stable CM7 7.1 and the latest Gapps (0811 or 0821)
5. Drop both in the uSD
6. Fire the NC up.
7. It should get into the CwM R, from there
a. format /system
b. format /data
c. format /cache
Note: I didn't format /boot when doing mine.
d. install CM7 first
e. then install Gapp
8. perform wipe data/factory reset
9. after done, remove the uSD before reboot system.
Give it some times during the first boot.
If after 10' and still not up, then force reboot.
Keep fingers crossed.
