Hi, I was trying to make a backup of the ROM on my SGT, but got the following message; "failed to verify whole-file signature", so I tried "recovery 3e modified to work like recovery 2e" but when i restarted my device, it tries to go into recovery-mode, something flashes across the screen, and it stops.. have tried several re-boots, with the same result..
Is there any way to save it, or is it lost?
- Please help
I can fix this with JTAG PM sent...
I got it into download mode, so it was saved by flashing a new ROM

i was on jp5. i was messing with the theme files and then when i rebooted from cwm, the phone vibrated 3 times. i then knew i couldn't boot.
i tried to apply the jp5 firmware zip, but it had an error. could not read package data.
i should point out im using oclf.
then this morning i tried to flash the kernal via odin. it was stuck in zImage. i pulled the plug, and then i tried again. i got and error, cant read file, error on line 1044.
Now i cannot access recovery mode, but download mode is still working.
This afternoon, im planning to flash jpk, via odin. i fear this wont work.
When i power on, this logo comes up that shows a phone and computer, with a error symbol between them. This also occours when i try to access recovery mode.
I have made a backup.

Hey everyone, I've had this problem for a while now and have no idea how to fix it.
I've tried to flash some ROMs on my tab since it's gotten laggy as of late.
I've gone to Clockwork and hit "Flash Clockwork recovery" but every time I do so it gives me the option of "Epic 4G" or "Galaxy S i9000"
This obviously doesn't seem right since the tab is neither of those.
Whenever I hit "reboot into recovery mode" I get taken to the Android System recovery screen and in red I get the message
"E: failed to verify whole-file signature.
E: signature verification failed.
Installation aborted."
Anyone know what I can do to fix this?
Not a single person here can help me?
First Step,

Prolly incompatible cwm/kernel/rommanager/root installed.
same problem
i am also getting the same Error message on my samsung galaxy s 4g t-mobile, i used superoneclick to root my phone. i have the superuser app on my phone so my phone is rooted. im trying to apply the audiophile framework update.zip file and i get this message can you help please thank you
There is a difference between rooting and having an alternate recovery installed.
Root gives you the ability to modify system files when running the ROM.
Custom recovery such as clockworkmod allow you to install unsigned files.
Should be easy to search out how to install a custom recovery.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Resolution
Use this foruma and re root the phone
100 % fix
I found this after umpteen failures..

how to accept bluetooth xfer
I have 13 of these tablets and cannot confirm bluetooth xfers on them. A popup comes on screen to do so, but disappears quickly with no button to confirm. I attempted to update with gapps on the recovery screen, and got a Failed to verify whole-file signature error. I know these have good RK3188 cpu's, I would like to get the up and running. suggestions?
Hey guys!
So, here's what happened, step by step
I was on a BlissPop 5.1.1, but I wanted to install xposed. I hadn't any truly funcional recovery, only the built-in CM recovery. So I was trying to install one.
I found and .img file of twrp, then I flashed it thru flashtool, as the guides told me. But than I got stuck on twrp and, as I didn't expected it, I didn't made a backup. In another place, I found a guy saying that it was an issue that happens when you lose the misc.img file, and you can skip the 'flashing the ROM all over again' step just by flashing this file.
Then I downloaded it and my device softbricked. And then I look to do the same stuff that we always do when the phone got softbricked: install the stock firmware all over again.
I know I did a lot of mistakes and complicated the whole thing, but here was when something that I didn't know how to fix appeared:
I put it on flash mode, green light, but it just can't flash the tft file. The device keeps connecting/disconnecting over and over and when it finally starts to flash, I got the message "error in the processHeader: 5 - access denied" and I can't find a solution anywhere, not anyone with the same issue, nothing.
Right now I'm installing the PC companion to check if it is a driver problem, but I need to hear from you guys some advice to fix this.
Thanks a lot
Hello,
My friend just dropped off his phone that is stuck in bootloops. When you go into recovery it throws the error "dm-verity verification failed". His phone was stock, unrooted so not sure what happened. He said he was typing a text, it froze, and rebooted and started bootlooping. Is there anything I can try to bring it back. Unfortunately he did not back up his photos and that is all that he wants (he already bought a new phone). Would flashing with Odin perhaps work and retain the contents in user storage? Someone told him performing a system wipe/factory reset in recovery would lose all of the photos. That does not sound right to me but I am not sure with this device, been out of the game for a while. Any other ideas? Being that he is stock he has stock recovery so no adb there.
Thanks for any help!
