Very Strange Market Problem - Motorola Droid and Milestone General

A few days ago I updated my Milestone from CM7 RC6 to RC7. Since then i have a big problem with the market.
My apps were stored on the SD card on an ext2 partition. After the update i
wipep the Dalvik and the cache.
Whren i restartet the Phone some apps were not in the drawer.
I created a backup from apps before the Update with Appmonster and i wanted to install them manually, but it doesn´t work. The Apps start to install an i get the Message "App didn´t Installed". I also tried to install them from the Market but when I searched the apps with the Market app they were not found.
Via the web browser I can see them but they will not install. The Webmarket show me that they are allready installed.
Trying to install them anyway does not work. Webmarket says "Device ist not Compatible".
What I have done so far to fix the problem:
- deleted cache and data from Market App
- Market erased and reinstalled.
- tried older version of Market
- Randomly Apps installed and uninstalled
- Complete Wipe
- Android 2.1. flashed
- Android 2.2.1 flashed
- Reinstalled CM7
- Full Wipe and signed in with an other account
- SD card completely deleted and formatted. (FAT und ext)
- trierd other Build.prop
- Android ID changed
The Problem still exist. I hope you have an idea.
(Sorry for my bad English).

No Nandroid (i´m an idiot, i know)
But you broght me to an idea.
I´ll make an nandroid from my daughters Milestone (no Problem with the Market) an Copy it on my Milestone.Maybe it works.

Market thinks apps are installed buy they are not

I formatted my sd card after installing Dwangs ROM, however I originally formatted it wrong so I got the black screen. Before I formated the SD card I had downloaded a bunch of apps.
Now that I've formatted the sd card all of my apps are gone. When I go into the Market to re-download them the market thinks I still have them installed.
I went to Manage Applications and cleared the cache of the Market App.
I then sorted for 3rd party apps and sure enough they still all show up under that filter but they are all 0.00Kb and when I click on them the phone just says App no found.
Anything else I should try beyond a whipe and re-install the Rom?
Yeah I had that happen too. I just went ahead a re-installed the rom, but I'm pretty sure if you pushed the .apks to /system/sd your phone would read them properly. They would have to be named exactly as they were before though - "com.handcent.nextsms.apk" for example, and not just "Handcent.apk."
this is happening with my lock screen widget, i try to add it it's not there i look in applications under settings and it's not listed, i go to market and in my downloads its there but i can't open or uninstall i've flashed 3 times already do i need a wipe? i have my apps on sd but i'm not trying to install them from market again
You can manually edit out the problem apps entries in /data/system/packages.xml
Nevermind i fixed it...just did a nandroid restore and then flashed cm4.2.4 then my theme and it's there and working now, strange

Help! My Market Application is GonE!

I recently flashed CSDI V4 ROM, and found that I can't get Apps2sd works, so I wiped ext partition of my SD card, and repaired it.
After booted, I installed about 25 apps from the Market, and on the 26th, somehow the Market kept telling me Download was unsuccessful for any apps that I tried to download... I tried everything, I wiped everything and re-flashed the ROM, and after booting, I found that the Market Application is gone! I tried nandroid backup and it's still not there, any idea how to bring it back......?
Any thoughts will be appreciated...
I just restored nandroid backup from 15th April... And the market seems back, but it still won't download any apps, it kept telling me "Download was unsuccessful"
I'm in China, does google market temporarily down??
Help me guys... thx.
Sounds like you're out of space.
run
Code:
busybox df -h
in terminal to see how full your partitions are.
Good luck.

[Q] [milestone]Unable to restore / install some apps

I have just applied the CM6.1.2 01-28 update, when i was trying to use titanium backup to restore my apps, the restoration wasnt complete.
Some apps, such as angry birds, switchpro widget and deluxe moon(etc. ...) cannot be restored
Originally i thought it was the problem of titianium so i tried to download them again through market, but jst few seconds after installation began it poped "unkown error - 8"
I then thought it was the problem of the update hence i 3 wiped, reapplied the 2.2.1 sbf(GOT one), and applied CM update, and wiped again. The same problem appeared
Now i even cant install google apps from the market, like maps.
Anyone knows what my device is going on?
Do you have a full (paid) version of titanium?
Free version it's limited to restores, i think.
yes...mine is a paid version
i can install titanium from file manager but failed for angry birds
i tried to UNMOUNT THE SD CARD and reinstall angry birds again, it worked
but once i MOUNT the sd card and install angry birds..it FAILED(even if i set the default installation location to internal storage)
can somebody please explain it it is so inconvenient to unmount sd card everytime to install a new app!!
Oops I hit the thanks button by accident.
Oh well.. you're welcome! lol
Anyway, do you have an ext2 partition?
If so, it could be that the CM update that you applied, which has apps2sd working, may have been in the middle of reconfiguring the system.
After I finally got the ext2 partition set up, I booted up and alot of apps weren't working. But suddenly, after awhile, suddenly everything was working great.

Who are your usual suspects? apps that only FC after boot ICS - why?

Ok,
Thought I would start this thread. I have a few typical suspects that force close straight after boot and I suspect that it is a storage space error with CM. I am running CacheMate but this is only good for after the system has settled in and by this stage the apps that I am about to list have all settled down again.
- Titanium backup
- Android Market
- Ice Cream Sandwich Clock (its my favorite)
- Genie News Weather widget (used a lot)
- Messaging (only sometimes)
- Android Media Process....still, even after the so called "fixes for ICS.
I am begining to learn to live with it just for the shear benefits of ICS over Gingerbread.
I will be attempting a full pull of my SD card, wipe/format and repartition and installation of apps to SD with links2SD which seems to be much better than apps2SD that requires reinstallation of the app and then re -moving of the app to SD before the links in system will work again. Everytime I flash a new update to ROM any apps on SD that were moved no longer work...they ARE still there because when I go to re-install them after clicking on the app icon (a link basically) it pops up a notification "App not installed"...however when I go to "re-install the app it says asks if I would like to replace the application ? Grrr quite ****ty when you've done a full restore, can't get apps working and your re-installing old apks that you knew you had the latest installed from Market prior to flashing the ROM.
I have been doing a Nandroid backup of my whole system when ALL apps are restored but before moving the apps to SD. That way I can just restore data and then move to SD and I don't have to bugger around with re-installing a million and one apps THEN move to SD taking twice the time and usually killing my battery in the process.
The only issue with that is then the problem of user data being a snapshot, so if the last time I did a nandroid was 10 days ago and I want all the SMS (MMS is the key part here) then the snapshot (regardless of apps) is not good enough? Apps like SMS backup and restore don't offer restoring of MMS so thats crap too.
Anyways...what are other users experiencing and what are your ideas for possible fixes? I have shared mine
PS: Am about to try MyBackup Root

Installing applications to SD Card - FroyoBread

I got this doubt.. I was using stock ROM (Android 2.1) and kernel for my X8 and i had app2sd 2.1, when i recently updated to 'latest' FroyoBread.. I had problems with updating, so i removed app2sd, reformated the SD card and it worked.
When i finally moved to FroyoBread, i started installing the applications, and just got stuck! And it said that there are no more space for any more apps.. I used app manager that came with Froyo, to move some apps to SD, but that didn't seem to do the trick.. Reinstalling app2sd didn't also work..
Do i need to setup some other version or there's some catch?
Before installing the apps:
Go to settings/CyanogenMod settings/application/install location/and tic the external option
After installing the apps:
Go to settings/applications/Manage applications/tic SD tab to manage..
widjet apps must install to internal
Thanks for this, was wery helpful
Not to open another thread.. Would anyone know how to make my phone auto capitalize letters after 2 or more dots, question marks etc. When i place only one, the phone will auto capitalize the next letter.. But when i add more it wont...
