OEM Battery vs extended battery - Hero CDMA Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Topic?
I'm planning on replacing the battery on my hero before I give it to my dad, but I was wanting to buy him a new battery first. I was looking on ebay and am surprised how cheap they are. My options are the extended battery or the OEM battery
I'm skeptical if the extended will actually last as long (battery life and overall life span) as the OEM just cause it's produced by a third party company. Does anyone have suggestions/comments? I appreciate it!

I figure as long as you get a warranty go with the extended. If no warranty go with the oem. Your safest Imo is the oem. Hope it helps.

New Battery Suggestions

I'm planning to get a new battery for my Tilt. The one that I have is almost 1 1/2 year old and it's lasting less than 8hrs a day.
Can you please tell me your reviews of the ones that you have bought and where did you bought it?
Thanks in advance!!
There's a few options, i can't really comment on quality, but while you're at it you might want to look at the "extended" batteries available. I believe the default battery is 1300mAh. There is a 1600mAh one that still fits normally and then theres the uber 2800 mAh ones which comes with a new back cover [obviously making the phone thicker].
The 1600mAh one is probably what i'd go for, as it's an upgrade from the original anyway : Here it is on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-Innocell-1600-Extended-Battery/dp/B00133TOJG
Here's the 2800mAh one: http://www.amazon.com/2800mAh-Extended-Kaiser100-T-Mobile-Vodafone/dp/B001AGLIJ0 . I guess it's useful for that extended airplane trip, but it will be bulky..
Note: Amazon got other brands of the same batteries above that are cheaper...so shop around.

I don't really know a lot of things about HD2 batteries, but I'll try to answer generally speaking.
Technically, OEM and non-OEM batteries are almost the same thing. They even are, sometimes, built in the same factories, with same components.
So why are the OEM batteries so expensive compared to nonames ?
The big difference is quality control. Your OEM battery is safe and works in an optimized way to give the best of your phone (close to a 100% charge, stable tension etc)
Noname batteries aren't controlled, so you can buy a battery that has the same quality than the HTC one, as well as one that can't deliver all its power (like yours) or even one that could overheat or explode if you're unlucky and that iron particles, for example, have not been detected in it.
I hope that it will help you, and if someone knows more than I do, please complete or correct.me
Buying batteries from eBay is a risky game to say the least.
Most items pleeding to be Genuine, Original, OEM manufacture simply are not.
Most of the items are low quality copies (some batteries look 100% genuine) most of the items are worth less than the packaging they are in & as for standard size batteries claiming to have 45% or more capacity for only $8.99, complete bullsh*t dear sir.
do yourself a favour & buy genuine from local dealer or only from recommended source of aftermarket items.
eBay is the worlds largest pirate products & fraudulant ecommerce market, about time they cleaned up or got shut down.
here in Israel is cost around 40$ for Non OEM battery
its too much
any else place i could buy it ?

HTC OEM battery 2300mah with kickstand, you can find it here
http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_item.aspx?i=195803
so sad that it's only sell in Europe
its just cover ? no ?
A work colleague purchased this one from fakEbay about 2 months ago:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-1350mAh-H...598?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2eafb867be
He said he has been happy with it for the price, performs as original over his 2 months of use. Had to charge from about 10% with device off for 3 cycles before performance was good.
Maybe someone ele can give a good recomendation option.
eBay and other similar sources are hit and miss.
Unfortunately some of the "HD2" batteries are MISSING the control circuit that is read on the third pin. The result? The phone WILL NOT CHARGE IT. It will charge in an external wall charger, but NOT under the phone's control. Oops.
go for oem dude.. value for money...
try andida. tried it for my diamond 2 and works great. waiting for the one for my hd2 to arrive.

after trying andida on my htc hd2, i would say it is as good as the original htc battery! however capacity wise it is not like what it stated according to my own experience with the original battery. andida only manage to last slightly longer. other than this boasting of capacity, it is as good as the original htc battery.

Any extended batteries by oem size?

Hey guys! I searched the forums and couldnt find anything on an extended battery that is oem size. Searching online only yielded results such as the zerolemon battery which is HUGE. There are a few on ebay but from what I read, those batteries do not contain the NFC feature. It wouldn't matter to me much as I do not ever use it. Is there any batteries that you guys recommend that contains more juice than stock but is the same size?

Sadly there is no such thing.
You'll find plenty that claim "Billions of mAh!!!" but it's usually the same as stock or even less mAh. If you want a good quality spare battery, look around for Anker's. Best bang for the buck.

Thanks for the advice! My wife got the smart dock and she got me a dock that has a spare battery charger integrated but I had to find a spare battery and couldnt decide which to get. There is a ton on ebay and amazon that claimed they have 4300mah or even 4800mah like you said.
I haven't had a spare battery since the HD2 haha The note 2's battery life is already great as is, but a spare wouldnt be bad either for those extra long days running around town and not able to have the phone sit and charge.
Would you recommend the ankler battery over an oem battery? I don't mind the price so much as I want a battery that actually holds a charge and lasts awhile.

I'd say they're just as good at less than OEM prices.

LG G2 3300mAh BL T7 eBay battery

Hi guys, I research the battery to replace my old 1 1/2 year old battery and found out this
http://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/3300mAh-...LS980-VS980-/201392264411?hash=item2ee3ea14db
The battery seems to have more capacity than OEM LG G2's battery.
Does anyone tried this battery before?
If you purchased and tried it, which reseller did you buy from?
How is the result and battery life?
Thanks!
If it has risk of explosion stay away from cheap Chinese brands.

Try and let us know
Those Chinese batteries always indicate higher than they actually are. Stay away from them, they're junk.
I had the same experience with the Samsung S4.
It's a marketing scam. The 3000mAh battery is pretty big itself, cramming extra 3300mAh is impossible without size increase (think about cell count)
Save yourself from stress & problems, get the 3000mAh one (and OEM if you find)
I tell you from experience that do not rely on the Chinese mh, are not real never
Go with a genuine part. If it swells or leaks, it will damage your phone.

Battery Replacement? ebay battery.

Hi guys, my battery has been used for over a year and half, started to drain very quick, the recent Android 10 update helped but still draining quicker. Today I myself installed a new battery from eBay.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REPLACEM...859434?hash=item5481cba3aa:g:uUwAAOSwYY1enbmT
I highly doubt this is original, and I understand companies do not sell original batteries in bulk to any company, I simply require a high quality battery, not fussed about brand to be honest . I asked the seller to confirm if this OEM battery has the exact same performance MAH as the original, he claimed it was original, when arrived it had the Huawei logo and looked good quality.
looked exactly like the one below.
https://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-huawei honor 10 battery.html
The original was around 50grams and replacement 53grams.
I want to know if anyone else has replaced the v10 battery and how it turned out?
Thanks
" Today I myself installed a new battery from eBay."
And how it is? What is the Screen on Time(SOT)?
Can You give more details about the performance of the battery as you alr3ady have IT installed?
