Big Issue with the HTC HD7 battery almost dead. - HD7 General

Big issue with the HTC HD7 phone.
Do you own a HTC HD7 ? and have you notice how quickly the battery drains out no longer then 24hours time ?
Seriously i fully charge the battery by using a USB cable PC to the phone let it fully charge until the phone shows a small green light. Then its fully charge.
I was just browsing the marketplace and when i do i would browse around for a good 10minutes search.. I also read articles news apps no more then just aprox 8minutes and look at my nice photos i have save by looking at them for another good 10minutes..
By the time i do so with all this i notice the battery is showing half dead.
By the time i wake up and see my phone.. it apears battery drain out or seriously needs charging because theres very little battery.
All this and only its been less then 24hours my phone was fully charge.
My iphone can do better then this and i can browse apps.. look at pictures take pictures.. read news articles for a good 1 hour or more and the battery still stays well obove 80% for at least 2 or 3 days.
My HTC HD7 only seems to drain itself up under 24hours not even a full 24h .
So why is the battery so horrible on this HTC HD7 ?
Does HTC store online offers a good battery for it ?
Tell us yours.. I cant stand this phone because the battery and allways and allways charging it every single day or close to 24hour time.
My iphone only is charge in 2 or 3 days time for a peace of mind.

Yes ive been having the same problem....
I charged the phone over night and its half gone from 9am till now. All ive done is sent about 5 sms and recived about the same.
Email manual sync twice and a little web browsing for about 5 mins.
It noticed its getting worse, im thinking a hard reset but then i will lose my sms.

Yes you are right there love. Looks like its getting sorta worse.. because seriously browsing the marketplace for only under 30minutes in one night long and browse your photos for 10minutes in all together 40min in one night.. the battery is almost 40% dead and by the time you know you wake up and the phone looks like its dead and needs recharding.,... even tho it only had 40% of life until you woke up 8 hours later.
very angry about this situation. So much for modern technology and realise every device on this world either its a plasma screen or a cadget or such theres always these isues along the... way... as you know yet in 2011. as if we live in the 90s.

Thanks guys. i have the same issue and my wife too has the same problem

Turn off your Data/3G/Location/WIFI services, and buy either a Mugen or Seidio Innocell extended battery. (avoid the cheap Ebay fakes!)
I only use the above services when I NEED to, I also have the Seidio Innocell1300mAH battery that I have conditioned correctly, I get over 2 days out of my HD7 before I have to charge it up again.
Mango Update will bring more battery saving options, so that should help, when it arrives.

Does your innocell1300mah need a special back cover for the phone?

Good tips there. But the phone must always remain 3g otherwise you wont receive phonecalls correctly and wont receive sms text msg correctly with delays and what not.
We all use the phone. I dont no about you. but people like us nowdays we use the phoen alot to navigate things rather then calls. Sounds like you dont use the phone much at all. Thats why you save enough days of living battery life on your HTC HD7.
And about the mango as you said. lets hope its true. But sounds like mango will slow things down ? well hard to believe because now days people want a fast respond navigation phone that gets you there rather then slowing down. So i hope mango doesnt slow down everything in its speed quality procesor and such just because of the battery issue.
Aniways if only i know there was a more upgrade battery for the HTC HD7 from the HTC online shop accesories. I would never buy things els where like ebay.
Just so frustration. My phone will remain powerful about 80% battery if i was to hardly use it and not touch it for hours on end.
Know days this generation people use the phone alot and its endless to say.

No it fits as the original ones does, no need for any extra bulk with a new back cover.

Ok thank you! ;-) Can you tell me the link were you buy the battery?

Batteries are chemical-based, and **** happens, and they sometimes fail.
Have you considered you may just have a bad battery?
I tend to stream music via bluetooth in the car on the way to and from work, and will usually listen to music via headphones for a few hours during work, and it easily lasts til the next charge at night. I wouldn't push it to 48hrs use, but I'm never likely to be away from a charger for that amount of time.
Just like laptop batteries, some will last you a good few years retaining charge pretty well. Some will be faulty out the box and last you a week before failing to hold charge properly.
If you're confident you're not doing anything to cause the battery drain you're experiencing, report a faulty battery to HTC.

I too face the same issue. I switched my HD7 to flight mode right after charging, and 6 hours later this morning I find it has drained like 20%. I made sure 3G, wifi, bt, location services, phone updates and phone feedback were all disabled. My HTC Desire S is on it's 2nd day on flight mode and has only lost 30%, which is with about 10 minutes of wifi sync per day and about 15 minutes of playing ROBOTEK. I really hope this issue can be solved.

not battery
+1
I noticed this problem on my HD7 lately, may be last week or about that.
And I don't think it's battery, cause I have two same batteries. First I thought it could be battery, but after getting same situation on another one it doesn't seem so anymore. Today I got almost empty in 6 hours with just couple of calls and little email reading. Previously I got at least full day with similar usage, having still something left in the evening.

If on T-Mobile, try using the updated ROM instead of the one that comes on most HD7's. Because of the way Zune updates, the radio from this is kept the same through the NoDo update. Before this, my battery was pathetic. I tried this ROM and now my phone phone can live through most of the day, more if airplane mode is on and email fetch is turned off. I also hear that the Mango update boosts battery for the HD7. If you're feeling adventurous, try the Mango beta.

I get about 14-15 hours every day of use before needing to charge.
I leave 3G, Wifi, and GPS always on.
My day typically consists of ~ 200 text messages, 15 min of plants vs zombies and some web browsing with the occasional photo.
I think it might be your battery, but my hd7 has the latest TMO US radio firmware.

No its not the battery I have the same pro.after 7392

my HTC-HD7 is the same, battery last 5 hours only, got an extended battery, and lasts only 10 hours .
there's something wrong , I think is some bug, or some software who keeps running on background,
I have a HTC-HD7 T-mobile us, does anyone know any rom who will work on it, I'll give a try.
thank you

Im running the Deepshining rom V7.6 and its a great, fast and reliable rom! I've had absolutely zero issues with it and battery life is good. Intrinsic rom and Nextgen rom are also great roms. I would check all three of them out and decide which one you want to use. If you flash hspl to your device you can re flash a different rom very easily!
Follow shadows tutorial to downgrade your spl, flash rspl/hspl and to flash a custom rom, here

If you need any help or have any questions just let me know!

thank you, I'll see all the steps, by the weekend, and try to install one of tthose roms.

Your welcome man! Make sure you downgrade your spl first or you'll damage your bootloader and brick your phone! If you need any help with the steps just let me know...Happy to help!

My OEM battery drains around 50% from 6am - 5pm on a work day... Moderate use... All services on except bluetooth...
I throw her on the charger at 11pm when I go to bed and there's usually around 10-30% left...
Found the battery drained more when I started driving my partner's car to work and back and used the HD7 as an audio player as her car hasn't got a decent stereo. So I bought this 1800mha standard size battery off ebay to see if it lasts any longer... Will report back after a solid week of use...

X1 Battery Life (1 year later)

The battery in my X1 lasted literally five hours today. A couple text messages, some wifi browsing, no calls. My phone gets to the 40-50% mark then my phone starts barking that my battery is low. Is there anything I can do to correct this or should I just get a new battery (which is the original BTW).
If I need to get a new battery, are there any authentic OEM batteries on EBay? I don't want to buy from SonyStyle because they are $54 after my discount.

My battery lasts a respectable amount of time. I listen to the radio on the hour bus ride to work, usually place a couple of phone calls, do some email reading, send a couple of SMS. Usually, my phone gets left on during the day for eight or so hours, then it gets similar treatment on the way home. I also usually make quite a few calls during the day, and it has Exchange Activesync running on it most of the time, and is using 3/3.5G connections. By the time I get home, the battery is often reading about 50%. Theres also various automatic downloads - for RSS, weather, social data and so on every couple of hours.
I've also not-charged it in the night, and it's been good for two days of this kind of activity, by which time the battery is usually on a low-battery warning, but still kicking, by the time I get home on the second day. I've found the battery to be something I can rely upon, but it's also massively varied with rom - battery drains crazyfast using the EnergyROM series, whereas the Rusch/Wildchild Manilla colab builds have relatively minimal drain.
@emuneee
is this with stock rom and radio? All these crazy manila roms are pretty hard on battery usage. Im trying to decide if my battery isnt holding as much a charge as it used to or if its the roms I've been using. I dont want to buy a new battery then find out it makes no difference

I use Wildchild's Pure WM6.5 ROM, so there is no manila.
i use energy leo rom and mine lasts 4 days with intensive use
My battery life IMPROVED!
Yes, you heard right! Thanks to newer Roms and radios the current consumption got lower, so the battery life got better.
Only on hard use (playing, surfing, etc) i get battery problems. But normal use allows me to use the phone 2-3 days. When my xperia was new i only could use it one day, because even in standby it consumpet to much energy (about 20% in 8 hours).

That's fairly cheap. But keep in mind that the battery only has 1000mAh with 3.7V output, unlike the original 1450mAh with 3.6V output.
In any case, you can buy a new batter after another year for this cheap price heh

You WHAT?? I charge my battery every day. I don't mind, because this is not inconvenient (charger @work and @home) and I too consider myself a heavy user. But FOUR DAYS?
I have noticed an issue, which I experience with both my original battery and a brand new clone BST-41 (still 1500mAh). This is that the battery will normally merrily dwindle down to about 20-30%, at which point the X1 will die. I then plug it back in, and once it's booted I find the battery reads critical, but of course it's charging. Once it's charged back up to round about 75%, it'll skip to full, and cease charging.
The net result is that only 70% or so of my battery is usable, which is very irksome. This is the case across every ROM I've tried lately (I don't remember it on stock, but I ditched that over a year ago).
Has anybody else experienced this? Again, this is with 2 separate batteries, so I must presume it is a phone hardware bug/fault/"feature".

Here's a challenge for all your Xperia's. To you who still has 3 - 4 days life span, could you try playing mp3's? strictly via earphones. say in1 hour and 30 minutes. See if the battery last for a day.
When I do that while going to work, My battery after 1 hour or so drops to 30%. I even thought why put this feature in the first place, what was SE thinking? Other SE music phones lasts until you decided to stop playing. I know. Iknow. It's not a music but what the heck... 30%?

I left my X1 playing MP3s on earphones. From 100%, after 4 hours it read 73%.
@G. Leche: maybe you had left the screen or WiFi on. The screen, WiFi (and/or push internet), and GPS are the main battery gobblers. And how's your signal? Frequent G/E/3G switching (or simply having to search for the signal at all) will increase the radio's battery consumption 3-4 times

nope. not at all. in fact "nireklamo ko pa 'to sa SE SM Carpark" told them my phone's a bit warm. Brought 'em there 100% went around shopping and played eheads on my ear. Went back to Se after an hour so they can have a look. and they all said "normal". I guess your lucky, I bet yours is black.
and oh, naka sun cellular ako. maybe it's part of the battery drain.
yup, mine is black.
hmmm... sounds like something is using up your batt. maybe an app? i was driving around a while ago and had nitrogen on the external speaker. that's the only time it gets warm when playing MP3s (due to the screen has to be on if you want to use the speakers)
I worked at AccuShop for some time - they are generally nice folks.
Maybe I can do a review!
P.S. 1 year old, and no real changes. IMHO, the problem is that the box needs a good charge from a wallwart from time to time - always tricklecharging via USB makes the logic go bonkers!
Just got standard apps, and standard rom (SEUS). except for ms voice commander. I play mp3's through media panel btw.
I haven't even left mine to over charge, since I bought it. I always have habit though of buying a spare battery whenever I bought a new one, same goes for my laptops. But last time SE doesn't have spare batteries for X1 and since taking off of the cover can risk my phone to crack (just an educated speculation though) I don't see myself changing battery from time to time with my Xperia.

Hi all. Please don't flame me ya but I just cant help sharing this info. I've bought a new battery for my hd2 and so far its holding on pretty good. For me, it was better than my current original batt (which has 7 mths in it). Bought over here. send it to me within 2 weeks or less (from hk to sg)
Best thing was, it was to my affordability. At USD $4.80 free shipping, i think its a steal.

yeah. It looks the same. Fits the same too. Had it next to my original battery. Now i couldnt figure out which is which. Haha.
so its the exact same as the battery that came with the phone? i'll hang around and see if any1else buys it before i decide.. the battery might be cheap, but the phone isnt.. dun wanna end up with an exploding phone lol..
sure. Hope it does help.
Dont Knock It
I bought a 'cheap' battery as a back up, new from ebay even as HTC printed on the battery, £3.39 free P&P, Thought it would be ok to use just while im away on hols, tried it out and its brill and im sure its lasting longer, after a day at work original battery about 48% new one 55%, thinking about getting another at this price dont care if its ' only as good as the original'
My battery is the same, but not charging with the original charger and placing in the phone is difficult. Charging it with additional purchased desktop charger. Otherwise the battery life is good.

do u have problem charging battery with phone when it gets down to 20% or 30% left? I have one cheap spare battery (bought on ebay). It gives me a orange or green flashing led when charging (at below 50% level). When orange or green led is flashing in charging, which means that it doesn't charge at all. Hope fully the one u recommend is not like the one i have. Please let me know the result. Thanks.

Hi, Mine was flashed green and orange when using spare battery and charging from PC, noticed I was'nt using the supplied HTC usb cable, swapped cable and flashing stopped.
Also bought a desktop cradle with extra slot for charging spare battery, now leave phone on in cradle and use it as an alarm clock while its charging.

and the batteries that came with is the same - same sn numbers and same pn number. Its amazing ! I think its a little bit better then the orginal battery. worth a try ! I love them, got 4 " fake " batteries and everyone works like bom chiki wawa
Been using a 1300mah for 2wks ,from: mymobilebits.co.uk/aa-htc-hd2-battery-genuine.html
even tho, its not 1350 as the website states, it has been a slight improvement over the stock battery (around 15-20% more after a typical days usage).
Not bad for less than £6 in the uk!
I ordered one of thr cheap batteries (got it today).
It doesnt look exactly like the original, but just similar to the original (barcode and sn are smaller).
I got it charged to a bit more than 50 percent.
(Im using it now.)
The first thing I noticed was that the thermometer was (is) +10 degrees off.
This means that I might experience the flash green/orange thingie while charging.
Y I think I'll experience this you ask?
Well, I used the device with high power consumption (3g ingernet+gps+screen on+chargeing) with the original battery for a 3hour gps guided drive, and got this phenomenon after the device got hot (very? hot? too hot?)
So I guess the +10 degrees off thing might cause the problem.
(I hope I wouldnt experience this, though)
People who did experience this may check if their batt. thermometer is off.
(you can use the "battclock" app from one of the neoghbouring xda forums)
(I would be thankful if people who had the problem can post the test results of their batt. thermometer)
p.s. -- is there a way to calibrate the battery thermometer ??

hmm, 16 USD for 2 battery and a wall charger? sounds really good.. however, i'm wondering if the battery will start to decrease in charge capacity really fast?
I am using the Focalprice one for a few weeks now and it works just fine.
when I saw it (I was shopping for something else on their great site) I thought for that price I had to get it.
Even if it would only last for half an hour it would be a good backup.
I was positively surprised as it works just as well as the original.

Sadly (but-as expected) the battry cannot be charged in the device.
It can be (and was) charged in an external charger . . . but this is not a good solution for me . . .

I am using the Focalprice one for a few weeks now and it works just fine.
when I saw it (I was shopping for something else on their great site) I thought for that price I had to get it.
Even if it would only last for half an hour it would be a good backup.
I was positively surprised as it works just as well as the original.

Is this normal on LG Optimus 2X aka Speed?

Hi all,
With lot of enthusiasm i bought this phone last saturday but now very disappointed ....
I had most of the android phones since G1 era but never looked back.....
This phone is disappointing me with just 6 hours of battery life even with moderate use.....
Tried all custom roms but no use.....
My question is that do u also have this battery problem and its common or do u think i have a diffective phone ?

I used my phone today for twitter, emails, few calls, whatsapp. From 7.00 am till now 11.03 pm (23:09) i have still 43%. But it is for smartphones normal to charge every day. Not the forget: my screen is on max. brightness.

In my case the phone lasted outstanding 3.5 hours the first time I charged it.
After that it is much better. One day I finished charging the phone around 10:00 in the morning and 22:00 in the evening had 30% battery left. During that time I took 40 photos with it, did some internet browsing, few messages, played some games, also used GPS for a while, so the battery should last 12+ hours of normal usage.

I am getting my phone today and Ill keep that in mind. Thank you!
Just for the record, it can last for a LOONG time if you let it.
I forgot my charger when i went on easter holiday, shut off all data transferrs etc (since i was in a different country anyways) and only 2G network.
Phone lasted for 4 days before i could charge it, and it still had 30% left.
I've heard the first few battery cycles aren't too good but get better, I was a very heavy user when i initially got it so i can't comment

hahaha mine lasts for 2 weeks but was closed
U ever touch this phone
It would obviously last for days if your hardly touch it
All I want is for it to last one entire day (about 15 hours?) on heavy usuage (surfing, texting, social networking). I hardly play games nor use the music player (have an mp3 player for that )
The iPhone 4 was perfect for me in this aspect. The battery lasted 1 full day no matter how heavily I used the device. No, I am not a fanboy but I just like how well iOS manages power.
After the iPhone 4, I had the Dell Streak and with Juice Defender installed, it was pretty decent too. I dont know why I am here in the first place. I still havent gotten my 2X yet. Its supposed to arrive in a few hours. Ill try it out and let you guys know how well it performs.
Cheers.

You should disable "Auto-sync", disable "Automatic brightness". And what ever apps you install, dont let it auto-sync or auto-update, then you should be good. Now, it dont even drain my battery that much even thought the dataplan was on most of the time.

if i disable all and off all the apps, then y do i need this phone??
and yesterday night (12 AM to 8 AM), my battery was down by 50 % in idle
as suggested by other friends lets see until this weekend if i can see any improvement on battery front.....
If you battery goes down 50% in idle overnight then obviously you have some sort of application running rogue and preventing the phone to actually go to its sleep state. Which would also explain the heavy battery drain during daytime use.
Mine use 2-3% at the most in idle overnight - and I have no troubles whatsoever to get a full days heavy use - usually I get 2 days with moderate use. I also have an Iphone4 and my LG have better batterylife than my Iphone4, my LG also has better batterylife than my HTC Desire.
I also bought an O2x for my 17year old son - who is a very heavy user, music and videoplayback, games and constantly texting - his phone also lasts a full day with no troubles.

I rooted my standard LG O2X, then i removed the crap that LG brought on default..
(Twitter/Myspace/Facebook for LG, LG Home, LG AppAdvisor, FSecure Scanner etc etc)
Now my battery life is without further mods about 30-40 hours with calling, texting and some browsing (wifi enabled)
If you ask 1000 persons how long the battery life of their lg ox2 is you will get at least 500 answers
I can say at beginning i was shocked, but after some days the battery life gets better. Atm after 4 weeks i can say my battery lasts at least one day, depends on the degree of usage...
By the app "Ultimate Juice Defender" you can increase the battery life by factor 1.5. (sometimes i can use it for 2-3 days without charging)
Remember : If you drive a Ferrari you have to refuel a lot
No smartphone differs much from that...

Correct - and you may have some luck seeing if Watchdog can pick it up. Otherwise, charge your phone, and turn it off, then turn it on, and unplug it just before you go to bed. In the morning, you can check what application used most of the battery.
Mine uses about 1% per hour at night with JuiceDefender. Before I installed JuiceDefender the battery would go from 30% to dead overnight, preventing my alarm from going off.
JuiceDefender lets me get through the day. More specifically if you let JuiceDefender disable the data connection when the screen is off. You'll still get Whatsapp messages / emails etc if you let it sync every 15 minutes or so, without excessive battery drain.
Web browsing is also a super battery killer, I swear the battery goes down 1% per minute while browsing.
I have used many android phones and never used this juice defender..... actually i hate stop using apps for battery.... android is made out of apps....
Currently i have taken out my SE Arc and using it which is giving me 1.5 days of battery with heavy usage.... i will reset the LG phone this weekend and see, if not i would have to sell this hog......

For me there were a few apps that were stealing my battery away. Like IM+, Skype, etc. You could see that in the secret menu "how much time has this app kept the phone from sleepin".
If I turn on flight mode (no more connection) it doesnt even care when it lays there for two nights. I lost about 5% in two days without plugging it in AT ALL.
But that's not the POINT of this phone. You don't have it so you turn off everything and spoil your fun.
THE POINT IS *smashes desk* TO HAVE THOSE APPS.
If I couldn't be IM'ed all day where would the point of the phone go? For me... away.
I have had it for like 3 weeks now. When I have those things on in the background, it doesnt even last like 9 hours. It just runs flat without me even using it a lot.
Once it went so far out it died in like 3 hours WITHOUT ME USING IT. It started to run hot without any reason and draining the battery like I attached a freaking laptop with a dedicated Nvidia CPU to it. It drained the battery faster as if I was using it! I haven't yet found out what causes this. Sometimes it does it and runs empty on it.
Oh well D:

[Q] Lg Thrill system eating my battery

It seems my android system is destroying my battery , it is always at the top of the list with display usually coming in well under. This screen shot was taken with very little use today. I upgraded the battery to the andida 1980 mah battery and I have been using juice defender ultimate and I do get a few more hours out of the device but the android system is still the largest drain. any ideas or suggestions would be great.

Welcome to the club. I charge mine twice a day at least.
Dude, no kidding. I charge mine 2-3 times daily, plus the whole time driving to and from work. Android eats normally 50-60% of my battery. Sadly, I still love it. Plus I work for at&t selling these things. I tried the 3500mah battery, but I hate having a naked phone.
I'm not sure what I'm doing different but my android system is at 30-39%
sent from my Lg Thrill running Thriller. Using the XDA app.
They say it's some sort of system glitch but no one knows the cause. I'm running Thriller which is amazing. Much better than stock. These phones have a lot of potential.
Change the Launer, try Launcherpro, after installing the launche reboot and see.
After a ton of research this is what I've found. I think its the answer as to why the battery is getting drained, but there doesn't seem to be a fix. I installed Juice Defender which has throttled my OS from coming on and leeching the internet whenever it feels like it. Sometimes I get cell standby, phone idle and display above android OS, which is a god send.
I found this out using Battery history and Betterbatterystats.
The main culprit seems to be the Suspend command. Google knows about this issue and LG had to of known but they released Froyo on the Thrill anyway.
Issue 11126
I use watchdog to monitor mine. At first I set it to alert me if it ever went above 30% which should be way to much but I got it so often I decided to move it up to 50% to give it a little extra time to "suspend" my phone. I get less alerts now so it must be working eventually but I've had it alert me at 80% before...suspend....using 80% processing power to put my phone to sleep?!?!? Thats rediculous. So you go into the "partial wake" section of betterbattery and battery history and you find out that the main culprit of keeping your phone awake and fighting "suspend" is either the "dialer" or "datatracker". Dialer seems to encompass anything that uses the internet but I could be wrong so that one is pretty broad. DataTracker turns out is your Fast Dormancy. There are many threads on the internwebs that tell you how to disable fast dormancy as its more of a neusance than usefull if the carrier isn't tuned right for it but none of these seemed to work for me so for now I'm stuck letting dialer and FD fight Suspend and just catching it when I can with Watchdog. Gingerbread can't come soon enough and hopefully its a version that fixes this as many users in the "issue" thread were using GB.
I lost tons of sleep over this and the only thing I could do was install Juice Defender. I hate depending on a 3rd party app to control and throttle everything on my phone but so far I still get all my push emails fairly instantly and really don't even notice its there, I still just hate the idea of it. but, for now it works. Yesterday I was at 27% after 17 hours of moderate use. Phone calls, emails, texts and maybe even some 3D gaming but I couldn't remember for sure. I also use Battery Graph to give myself a visual representation of my battery throughout the day and that helps me see when and where my batter is getting drained or if its going to sleep properly. Keeping my Wifi on also seems to drain it so unless I need fast internet I have it off. It doesn't seem to sleep properly when its on even if I have it set to "sleep when screen off" as the phone still likes to "partial wake" and run wild on the net.
Sorry if its long winded and confusing but after tons of research on this I've come to accept what I've found. I hope it has helped someone.

You all have to remember froyo isn't the greatest when dealing with resources hence why Gingerbread was released so hopefully once we get that update things will be much better.
If you use cwm, try battery calibration. when you reset it the battery meter become more accurate.
I use up my battery from 100% downto 40%really fast. but the remaining 40% looks far more than the first 60%

1800 mah battery with stock cover!

I just thought I would share this just in case if anyone was interested. I bought this battery for my Samsung Captivate and it works well. So I decided to out try it in my Focus to see if it would fit..it fit perfectly!! I have had the battery for only 2 weeks now but it does work better and it looks to be Samsung OEM.
So just to recap this fits with the stock back. It is but you will never notice once it closes

Correct this battery fits under the stock cover. This phone isn't my daily phone so I can't tell you how much longer it lasts. What I can tell you though is that in my Captivate (daily phone) it lasts longer for sure, probably about 20 to 30% more. I literally used it in the Focus for like half a day and it had no issues.
Okay I am using the battery in the focus today. It does snap. Lose but it is a tight fight. If you have a case it won't be a problem at all. One corner from my phone unsnaps randomly but one of my clips is broken so that could be the case also.
I received today the Chinese batteries.
They fit perfectly in the Focus and looks like they're exactly the same size. I've started the phone with one and it works fine.
Battery cover is absolutely the same with this one as with the original. I didn't notice any difference in weight either.
See for yourselves:

I will charge one fully and test it asap and will post back the results.
Could you PM me where did you buy that chinesse battery?
I tested the Chinese batteries and they're weak, as I expected.
They held 3h 05m on WP Bench where as my 1 year old original Focus battery held 3h 50 min in the same battery test, that's 80% of the battery I have now and I remember in NoDo, on WP Bench battery was holding about 6h.
So, they're good as backups, but in no way better than the originals.
The originals should be better, in theory.
I bought the Anker battery from amazon which was around 10 bucks. Its also 1800 mah, but is the same size as the Samsung OEM stock batter that comes with the focus. Seemed to last about 36 hours with light use on my Focus. One thing I noticed - the charging indicator never stops blinking to say that is finished charging. IMHO doesn't seem to give much more than a fresh new stock OEM battery - although for 10 bucks I agree would make a good back up, thats about it.
Here's the link to the battery I purchased:

I never knew about WP Bench. Wish I had. My Focus had 420 or so cycles on it's battery and had a rapid performance decline in charge holding. It also blew up (physically) a bit. I replaced it with a replacement OEM from Batteries +.
The replacement doesn't seem to be the equivalent of Day 1 on the Original battery but maybe Mango and my usage is far more than before.
The knock off batteries, the misrepresented mah ratings, and even the out-right faking of batteries has my jaw dropped. Buyer beware.
I contend that the battery issue, battery fakes, and cheap replacements is 100% the reason Apple doesn't make their battery accessible. They want a tight control over those batteries to guarantee performance.
I just ordered the OEM from first post. When it arrives, I will attempt to do scientific tests and post results. I'll use WP Bench as mentioned before since that is likely the most accurate way to test.

UPDATE
Ok, Here is a Preliminary set of numbers with 1800 battery...
4:43:19
Same settings and still NOTHING running:
Reason I say preliminary is because this was after the FIRST charge. When the phone finished charging again, I needed to use the phone, so was unable to set it for a test run again. I'll attempt that again tonight. BUT, for the record, I took the phone with me to Reno, NV and used it for over 1 1/2 days without charging. Used the Internet, Maps, and Showing it off to family, taking 15 mins of video during the fireworks, and still had 10% battery left over... I'm really anxious to see what my test results will be this next time...
FYI, it is a fairly tight fit within the cover, but it DOES fit. Once I got all the snaps snapped, it feels very secure.

Yeah, that's strange, the link died on the first post. Here's a link to eBay with a bunch available... Look for part # EB625152VA If you Bing/Google this number, you will find other resellers too.
If you like paying full price, buy direct from Samsung: http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EB625152VABSTD
Larger Battery Tests
Ok, final numbers, photos, and thoughts. The battery is snug, (if you look carefully, you can see a slight deformation on the battery cover where it is forming over the oversized Galaxy battery) but after it is snapped closed, you won't notice as jev3gs has already mentioned. Images attached.
I've made a correction for the time posted in above post (Copied it wrong), and have performed two tests with each battery, so I'm confident that the numbers here are correct. The tests were within about 30 seconds of each other on each battery.
Stock Focus Battery 5.55Wh 1500 mAh
PN# EB575152VA
4hrs 11mins 57sec
= 251.95 Minutes
Galaxy S™ II Battery 6.66Wh 1800 mAh
PN# EB625152VA
4hrs 43mins 40sec
= 283.67 Minutes
This is an improvement of 31.72mins, or 11%! That's using WP Bench which kills the battery very quickly compared to real usage.
That may not seem like much, but for me in my usage, that will likely equate to an extra 1.5 hours per day. 12 hours + 11% = 13.32 hours.
(According to the printed battery specs, you should actually receive about 16% extra, my tests showed a little lower. Maybe will get better with more usage.)
I have not done charging tests yet, but it also seems like it is charging faster. That may be in my head, but it seems like about an hour faster... I MIGHT test that later.
PS: Thank you jev3gs for the heads up on this tip. I was about to buy another battery anyways, so this is icing on the cake!
Thanks for taking the time and doing the review! Let us know about charging times too!
Thanks for the detailed posts SuperSport. I wish the OP had put this before I bought the Momax battery which takes forever to charge compared to the stock one.
Unfortunately, I still have not run verifiable tests to prove the charge times. It does seem faster, but normally, I charge it at night and don't pay attention to when it completes. I've been a bit to busy to run the tests during the day, so it will need to wait for now.
I've bought many OEM and Generic batteries over the years for both phones and Radio Control, and it's really hit and miss. Sometimes, the Generic blow the OEM out of the water, but usually, the OEM batteries outperform.

Using my 11% gain as a reference, you could expect 5.55 hours, up from 5 hours. If Samsung is correct, and it's 16% gain, then it would be 5.8 hours. Still not quite 1/2 day...
