[Q] Task killer text widget, work around? - Android Themes

Hello!
I am trying to find a way, to swap out the widget icon and text on my "Advanced Task Killer" app. I would like to use minimalistic text, to trigger the autokill action the widget normally does, but under activities there is no such activity, only the option to LAUNCH the task killer app.
How can I do this? I've found an application called xShorcut, that allows me to launch applications with a string/command, so does anybody know what the "kill" command is for the Advanced Task Killer? Is there a way to grab said activity, via an app or so?

No wise heads, that is able to shed some lights on this matter?

Maybe this helps?.. Sorry I can't contribute more.

As far as I can understand, this app can trigger the widget at specific times (e.g. 2 pm), but it doesn't allow my to create another widget, so I can have another design on it

Still nobody?

To be honest I think it would help if you posted in a general or q&a forum in your phone's section... Themes isn't really the best spot to post about these things.

weather widget/flip clock stops refreshing

i hope i don't create a redundant thread, but a preceding search (flip clocks) in the DREAM forum only returned 3 existing threads, which all did not discuss this question.
my weather widget/flip clock (donate version) stops refreshing frequently. it is usually trailing for some time, mostly up to an hour or so, until it wakes up again.
i know the instruction: exclude weather widget from task killer (or add to "ignore list")
HOWEVER....
i don't even have a task killer installed....
Toggle Settings has a task killer embedded, but I haven't even activated it (seemed to cause more problems than solving any...)
so... what else do i have to do, apart from that above, that i can't do.
thanks for any hint.
cheers
Download Advanced Task Manager and exclude it from there. You should have a task manager anyhow.
i tried that (with toggle settings task killer (ignore list)) and estrongs task manager (ignore list)... but both didn't change a thing.
that's why i am so confused

correction... i think it was just that.
i tried Advanced Task Manager, excluded weather widget in that one, and now it works like a charm...
but that means many other task killers are just not doing it right....... because they didn't work.
thanks for the help!
Had this issue, just paid the $0.99 for the app and hope this takes care of it.
Thanks all!

yes, all the best! at first it seemed not to work.
i managed it by doing the following:
1. open the weather widget app (not the widget, the app that comes along with it, in which we change settings or themes, etc.)
2. while weather widget app is open, start advanced task manager and add the weather widget app to the exlude list (also to the auto-kill exclude list)
this did it for me. finally the flip clock is on time. ALWAYS
my clock stops working when there is a forcast error and only starts working again when i refresh the weather. I've contacted the dev and told him about it and he said he will look into it.
i just figured out that although adding it to the exclude list of advanced task manager it still "crashes" occasionally.
then the weather app has to be re-started, and then it works again.
something makes weather app crashing, and i believe it's low memory. should extract a log ...
Same problem here. Excluded it from kill list, but still runs consistently behind, when it's not locked up for hours. Quite a disappointment after coming from Beautiful Widgets. Can't exclude from Auto Kill list on free Advanced Task Manager, but shouldn't have to buy an app to make another work properly!
i figured it out, somehow...
i realized that apart from Advanced Task Manager, I had also Toggle Settings, which also kills processes (I find this feature of Toggle Settings is not as intiuitive but it seems impossible to have it deactivated).
so, i have to:
- exclude from Advanced Task Manager
- exclude from Advanced Task Manager autokill
- exclude from Toggle Settings
- exclude from Toggle Settings autokill
... for any new app that has a task manager and autokill function this will have to be done separately
finally i got it working
I've tried excluding it from Taskiller, Advanced Task Manager, Estrongs, etc and it still stops refreshing. After unlocking, it's always wrong, requiring refresh. Hopefully dev can get this app working correctly.

I'm not sure if you are using Cyanogen, but if you go into your apps list open the Spare Parts app. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the list of options. The last one should be 'Home app in memory'. This is where the lesser of two evils comes in, at least from my experience. When checked, the Weather Widget clock will freeze and you will constantly have to refresh to update. When unchecked, no problems with the Weather Widget, BUT you will have a lag(2-5 sec) when returning to your Home screen. The delay may not bother you at first, but it will eventually...especially when you are trying to make a call and have to wait for all your icons to show.

[Q] Looking for the right lockscreen reminder app

I need an app that can help remind me of tasks until they are completed.
For example, "Pay Credit Card" pops up and stays up until I dismiss it.
And, "Do Laundry" and "Clean Car" also pop up, and I can see each of them listed together.
I can dismiss one of them and the others remain visible.
I'd like these reminders on my Lockscreen, so that they are visible each time I turn my device on, but not listed individually in my notification bar. Grouped together would be fine, but not individually filling slots on the bar.
I am running on Ice Cream Sandwich.
There are tons of reminder apps and lockscreen replacement/widgets... I am a bit overwhelmed trying to find one (or a pair) that will do this. Does anyone know of any of these that would would work for me?
For non-device specific questions, ask in the ATT note forums. Same device, much more traffic.
Lock screen widgets rolled out with jellybean 4.2. GTasks is a good Google task list app that has widgets that you can use in the lock screen, so I'd search play store for something like "jellybean lock screen" read if it supports widgets, and also install gtasks. See if you can get it working.

1. Make a list with the apps launched the more often with any of the other list.
2. Allow to sort any list following their app usage.
3. Possible to stick the number of apps you choose at the beginning of an adaptive list.

Kinda nice, but there's no way to see the time on it. I'm pretty partial to seeing the time on my watch, LOL.
How does this work? Side load onto Gear?
This should be a home screen widget.. would be perfect for novalauncher or any other third party launchers for that matter..
Kind of pointless if you ask me..

i have exactly the same feeling. no offence, but i can't find a single use for this that i won't get with nova launcher.
i'm not a developer, but i think we need more apps that are optimized for gear - and i don't mean a launcher like this, but apps like voice recorder, music player, perhaps a text reader.

It's not a launcher, it's to be used with other launchers to access easily the apps you use most.

Good for you getting an app made, can you give us some examples on where we could use it?

looking for a task switcher

I'm looking for a NST-compatible task switcher.
The best i could find is this Task Switcher, but apparently the latest version is not listing all the active apps...
EDIT: i've found Smart Task Switcher which seems ok.

Yeah, Smart Task Switcher seems to be the only task switcher that both looks decent and is compatible with the Nook, so most likely it's the best you're going to get. Thankfully, it is very nice, has plenty of features, and works exactly like it's supposed to - when I used it for a while, I actually uninstalled my ADW Launcher, because I didn't even need a homescreen anymore!
All in all, Smart Task Switcher is the best choice IMO. :good:
Button Savior does that as well as many other things.

Yes, it's a good app - the only problem with it in this sense is that to launch an app from it (by long-pressing Home), you have to have launched the app already from an alternate home launcher, making it not specifically ideal for a good task switcher.

Once you have it installed you can go into the settings and have it start automatically at boot, easily adjust the contrast and opacity plus the location on screen so it's very unobtrusive in day to day usage.

Yeah, I know - I used Button Savior for about a year, so I know my way around it. I don't have it installed anymore because I can use NTMM to assign everything I used in Button Savior to the physical buttons, eliminating the need for another key set.
But, I digress. In my opinion, all in all, it's a very nice app, but for purely a task switcher, it's not ideal.

Launch hidden Apps on Android head unit

Hello guys,
I registered new here because I'm clueless with my new android radio.
I installed nova launcher because the stock design is awful but the standart apps are neither shown in the launcher or in the applications tab in settings.
I want to make shortcuts for those apps on homescreen but at the moment I can only launch Apps like Music, Radio and DVD Player via the physical buttons on the radio. Is there anyway to find the root of those Apps and create a shortcut for them?
Just found out that all those features are a part of the com.ts.mainui8 App if that helps.
OK finally found a Solution for my Problem, the App Activity Launcher allows to ceate certain shortcuts, thanks anyway
Hi, I am getting crazy with same problem, I want to start the radio from agama launcher that only launches app, not activity. To go around this I am using tasker to create an app that launches radio activity.
com.ts.MainUI8/com.ts.can.CanExRadioActivity
Something is launched with no error, but result is just a flash on screen and toolbar happearing for just a sec. Probably I need parameters or intent.
How did you start the radio?
