Hello everyone, yesterday i had the problem with the market in wich it did't downloaded the apps, i tried to reset to factory / hard reset and still nothing, so today i flahed the JPO from samfirmwares (it was exactly the same version that i had previously) all went well and the market now works fine.
The problem is when i go into recovery to install voodoo lag fix it says the signature for the update.zip file failed, the recovery mode is now in version e3 wich is strange because before the reflash it was e2 and this is the same version.
Why does the recovery mode goes to e3 version?
Is e3 a the version of recovery mode or is something like a state?
Is it possible to use non signatured update.zip files with e3?
Any other possibility of applying update.zip different from the recovery mode?

If the device is rooted (or if not you can root it using the z4root app by RyanZA) you can then download an app from the Market called Rom Manager and in that app you can flash the Clockwork Recovery Mod and install update.zip files directly from the app...
Thanks yiannisthegreek in the meantime i used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108 and is all fine now. Anyway i will try the Clockwork Recovery Mod to install future update.zip

No problem. Just so you know... z4root is a one click app that requires no flashing of any kind. Keep it in mind for the future...
Hi guys,
posting here as i've tried searching and nothing comes up (anything that does has out dated download links or just doesnt apply)
Problem: after rooting my phone when i try to use rom manager, nothing happens. I've bout CWM touch, I've downloaded the normal CWM but when i try to either load cyanogen from the zip on my sd card it does nothing, it prompts me to back up, wipe etc but then when it says it will boot to recovery nothing happens. Also tried other apps to reboot and none of them work
any advice on this?
I've seen a cmd prompt set of instructions for Superoneclick, but im lost as to the getting to the directory through cmd tool.
any help would be greatly appreciated
phone specs
Android version 2.3.4
XMM6160
kernel: 2.6.35
build #: GRJ22
Software version: V20b
rooted: yes
Hi , if you have CWM touch, install QtADB on your computer => http://qtadb.wordpress.com/download/
reboot recovery from menu
or install android sdk and in a command prompt : adb reboot recovery
or at reboot OB, press G-key
Did you flashed recovery? First option in rom manager.
Trolling in the deep
yep clicked the first option, the prompt for the device comes up, i hit it, then the bar loads... then "succes".
then when i try to install from SD card nothing happens
Thankyou YkZ_1967 !!! However I installed qtADB and got reboot recovery, but it just reset the phone. Any ideas?

that's depend what you want to do, if you install custom rom, reboot in recovery, wipe data/cache / dalvik , then install zip from sdcard and choose your rom, then after success flash, reboot now.
I want to install cyanogen but when i try to load from sd card in rom manager it wont go into boot recovery.
when i managed to get it to boot recovery in the way you suggested it only reset the phone.
I feel like i'm missing something, did not think it would be this difficult

That means actually no cwm recovery installed yet so it will reset your phone everytime you want to enter recovery mode. This is the best thing you should do : reroot your phone like in this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1487105. It will automatically installing cwm recovery touch. After that, you can go to recovery mode by using quick boot (download it from playstore). Therefor, you can start flashing roms, but remember don't use rom manager, coz it wont detect your cwm recovery touch and forcing you to flash the non-touch cwm recovery.

This is the root method I recommend : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22304591&postcount=91.

follow the method with smartflashtools and v20.x patched with cwm touch by SnegovikRZN , then you have OB rooted with CWM Touch, you will be able to install CM7 and unbrick your phone.
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
Got it to work that way all i had to do was flash that then clear data/wipe cache/wipe dalvik and then load from sd card and it works! very happy now
how can I boot into recovery , from a turned off phone

after you try to install zip from SD card and fails, check to see if it shows: error can't mount /sdcard. or something like that. ???
if it syas so. try a different recovery like TWRP, i was having a problem, similar to what you describe, an hour ago while rooting and flashing my mother's in law OB, i flashed the CWMT recovery and for some reason it couldn't load the ZIP from SD and it showed this error, so i flashed TWRP recovery and then it was fine, i manage to flash marvel rom and all was good.
hope it helps.

you are right, but i had a problem, the CWM was flash and ob went into CWM recovery mode, but for some reason it stated an error that it cannot mount /sdcard, so i tried via recovery menu to mount sd card, didnt work, then i tried again to flash a different version of CWM, same error, then i went and flshed TWRP and it worked.
i wonder if its a specific OB bug, bcoz this problem happen on my mother in law OB and on my OB it was rooting and flashing just fine, exactly like the guide.
Hi,
i have GT-N7000 with RocketRom v1 and CWM 5.? recovery.
Today i installed ROM manager and clicked on flash CWM recovery (at the time i did not know i shouldnt do that). Phone worked ok. I tried to make phone image/backup but it failed twice.
Phone rebooted but did not go to recovery and i didn't get any new files. So i went to recovery and made backup from there. I rebooted and i had this image files. Then i wiped data and tried to install back this backup. All went fine except somewhere in the midle phone rebooted by itself. Since then phone only boots to the "logo screen". I left it like that for 30minutes and it was still the same. I can go to recovery and download mode but i can not flash rom from recovery. I tried and it starts instaling rom but after few minutes of inactiveity phone reboots. I flashed recovery via ODIN and it is still the same. I also tried to install stock rom but i get error that phone can not read from /sdcard/ROM.
I realy need your help because this is company phone and they will kill me :/
I just tried to install AlianceROM and it started it installed and all it allso sayed that install was sucsessful but still nothing. When i start phone i see Samsung Galaxy logo and nothing more.
use PC odin... put the phone in download mode and install a stock GB rom.. if successfull .. before it boots .. reboot into recovery and do a wipe data factory reset, wipe cache, and wip dalvik.. then reboot

This is a link from Dr. Ketan's signature. Here you can see how to use PC Odin.

I unlocked my bootloader with this tutorial:
http://andro-ex.blogspot.de/2013/04/lg-optimus-4x-hd-bootloader-unlock-fur.html
Then I installed ClockworkMod Revovery 6.0.2.8 succesfully on the phone and wanted to flash this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2258596
I made a full wipe and /formate system and wanted to install the ROM but I get an ERROR. After that I reinstalled V20A and wanted to root, but I can't access the recovery any more. I got S/W Update Mode and LG Recovery Mode appears with the message "This mode is for data backup at service center [...]".
Root is not possible, because I can't access to the sideload option. Any tricks?:crying:
Edit:
adb reboot recovery does restart the phone and booting the ROM.
I am currently testing the LG Emergency-Recovery

Did you try to do a factory reset? Try it and see if you can get into stock recovery and root.
I think you used a different version of the ClockworkMod Recovery (Dexter's version?), which is why you got the error (status 7). First of all, try installing Rom Manager from Google PlayStore, then install the latest recovery for our device from there. If that doesnt work then try reflashing and doing the same thing. Remember that recovery is Vol- and Power Button.
Good luck

Lol, a factory reset works well.
Ok, but I can't mount the external SDCard. Whats the problem?
Edit: Status 7 again. Whats the problem now? :s

FFS :banghead: The very first rule of XDA is SEARCH! Status 7 is a very common error and I would suggest that you search for it and you will find your answer.
I tried to install CM11 on my S3 Mini on which I had 4.2.1 running.
Before I rooted and installed CWM Recovery with ODIN.
After having wiped my phone clean while being in CWM recovery modus I tried to install CM11 as a zip file.
I got the error message 7 and right now my phone can't do anything at all....
There's no operating system on it, I can't turn it off or even exit CWM recovery modus.
Anybody out there who can help me out?
I'm kind of desperate right now...
