Question about rooting new 2.1

Hey guys I wanted to ask a question and see what kind of feedback I get
I had a nice rooted hero but had some hardware issues and Sprint was nice enough to replace my phone
However, now I have the official 2.1 update and I know I cant root my phone again (Even though Ive tried )
My question is, I still have the unofficial RUU that was released a while back that I also used but I was able to root after that update. If I use that RUU again and install it over the official RUU, will I be able to ROOT my phone again?
Im afraid to brick my phone so all your help is greatly appreciated

Unfortunately, that will not work. It won't brick your phone either, because it won't let it flash the rom.

thanks for the info. that sucks. does anyone think we will be able to root the 2.1 soon? I miss my old phone..

[REQ]Stock rooted 2.05 ROM

Hi,
Since I'm still on the 1.31.405 rom its still easy to root for me, but I would like to keep the stock rom (I really need a stable ROM and fm radio) is there anyone who can give me the stock 2.05 rom with root?

Did you root this yourself or just got it from google?
Cause I really don't want to screw up my phone by flashing a faulty rom that someone just randomly posted on the internet.
Or isn't it possible to brick a phone just by flashing a faulty rom?

No, I havent rooted it. I got it from this forum. If you search you may find the actual thread. Maybe Blayo......cant be sure. I havent flashed it yet.

seriously? I've tried searching before posting, quite a lot actually never found a threat, neither do I now :s
But if it's from xda it'll be safe I guess

search for arzme in members list and then all posts by him and you may find the thread and confirm its validity yourself.

i have downgraded my legend because i wanted to root.
But i think that i dont want it anymore.Can i just start this and then i have 2.05 again.
for this i dont need root right? because i only have downgraded.

I've just tried it, when I booted it for the first time it said something in chinees or tawanese I don't know. It also doesn't have dutch
Anyone who knows a rooted 2.05 rom which has dutch?

i have updated to 2.2 via keys (samsung software)
now i want too reroot it but i try z4root and it dose'nt work
i look around on this forum and some other and don't find somting work
any one can help me for this please
i'm also lost about jpx and why a get ugjk4 is it the same .....

try using SuperOneClick to root it. Search the forums for more info.

Actually, it was only 26 minutes.

[Q] Root Problems

I am having just a heck of a time getting this 7 inch galaxy tab rooted.
I have rooted many devices and this one looks like an easy one... I have been trying SuperOne click and z4root, and its a no go for me so far.
Any assistance would be much appreciated.

They won't work if you have Gingerbread...
You can try flashing a .zip

Firmware is 2.2
Also, I don't believe its possible to install from default recovery.(e3)

I was able to resolve it. I had to reflash the device to fix what an OTA broke.

hi guys,
i have searched the galaxy s forums for information on this phone but couldnt get much..
i would like to know if it's possible and how to root the phone, and flash custom roms, as i really wanna get rid of the bloatwares..
can i just apply those methods/roms of i9000 on this phone then?
i come from other android model and know about clockworkmod recovery, but this odin stuff is new to me..
fyi, the phone is the china telecom cdma/gsm dual-band model..
