Hi guys,
Im trying to make a flashable zip for 2.3.3 but it seems it has changed to what we used to use for froyo...
The script for my update script in my META INF folder used to look like this...
Code:
show_progress 0.1 0
copy_dir PACKAGE:system SYSTEM:
set_perm_recursive 0 0 0755 0644 SYSTEM:app
show_progress 0.1 10
But this doesnt work any more...
Do we need some sort of a binary now and can someone point me in the right direction to one...

Is it stock rom or custom rom? Are you using a custom kernel on your rom? if yes what kernel or custom rom are you using?

Simply honey 3.2 rom
Ultimate beta 7 kernel from damiengto
I think you are using a cwm2 update with a cwm3 compatible kernel or vice versa you can find cwm2 and cwm3 blank files on forum try them and let me know

Try dsixda kitchen.Search and you would find it.The thread has the tutorials.Though it is not compatible with note you could do basic operations like deodexing,zipaligning etc...

Yes, Kitchen works great for deodexing, zipaligning and signing Roms, but doesn't create correct updater scripts for me.
I use x ultimate to deodex.
Here are guides I found helpful when I wanted to cook it myself

If cp command does not work use busybox cp to replace odex files.
Deodexing and zipaligning is not development may be I'll share my rom when I learn more

But it worked for me.Did you change to edify after doing chances in the kitchen?
I almost forgot the options because I fully switched to manual thing because Its good for starter but not for persons who need to become a pro
Hi this is a Deodexed Rom XXLH2 For s5830i by me. This rom has all stock applications and root with busybox and su. This rom work in 100% and indicators of e-mails, sms etc. and other stuff works fine. If you have/has a question please send a message on PrivateMessage. HOW TO INSTALL:
First check that your firmware is the one mentioned above
Download Zip
Place it in your SDCard
Reboot into recovery (CWM)
Select Install Zip from SD
Choose Zip
Select Deodexed-XXLH2
Wait till flashing finish
Reboot
PLEASE DON'T COPY MY THREAD AND FILES WITHOUT MY PERMISSION !!

No i just deodexed whole rom and add root and busybox with latest superuser that's all folks

luckyyy the download link works fine, i don't understand your problem
It opened in progres bar in Firefox/Chrome... but on the screen its just a blank page...
I use a latest version of FireFox and it work cool. Maybe you don't have a latest version of AdobeFlashPlayer or something :|

I have a question: when a ROM is deoxeded it means that the apps are not compressed, am I right ? In that case the apps I will install later will be deoxeded too or not ?

Deodexed rom have/has compressed apps with odex file and that's mean any deodex apps have/has created dalvik-cache and you can play with uot kitchen and edit all apps with your style without any problemsor errors. But Deodex rom is quiet slowly than odex sorry for my english

Actually, a stock rom has two files for apps. X.apk and X.odex. Apk needs odex info to run, but in the deodexed version part of the info in the X.odex goes into a text file called, Classes.dex.
This gives you more free space in your phone
When you actually install any other app from play store or anything they are only the .apk file
this has to be installed with the cwm or with odin? will erase data?

It's a recovery package and will erase data(i hope not)
i had the androidscream rom installed, and i tried to flash this XXLH2 rom, the installation reported no errors, but after rebooting it goes in bootloop.
i wiped cache, dalvik, and data/factory with cwm.
any suggestion?

If im not wrong android scream is XXLA2...i guess there is the error

That´s right i also flashed this rom over XXLA2 and got into bootloop, use ODIN to flash xxlh2 and then flash this rom

Use Retribution's ROM script. It's made for universal use.

For bootanimation just replace bootanimation.zip inside system/media and you cannot edit a kernel. You can patch and edit it from source and you have to build your own kernel for that
