Anyone know why Google Services has such high usage percentage in battery use(almost 50%)? A solution maybe?

I'm on jvp and have got no drain problems yet. Does it go away after a reboot?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
no it doesn't. It shows that Google Services is running, and the processes are Network Location and Google framework.. I can't unninstall the framework, because i can't use the market after.
If a simple reboot doesn't fix it then if you wanted yo you could do a factory reset using this code *2767*3855# in phone dialer. This will delete everything on the phone and reinstall the firmware. But it will delete everything! Also any lagfixes should be reverted back to rfs before using this code.
There maybe another fix but that's all I can suggest for now.

Did you just flash the rom? It is expected that Google Services will consume an unusually high battery after flashing. It is because google account has to sync data from phone to its servers and vice versa. Let it run for a few hours or until the initial battery runs out. After that I think your rom's battery usage will "settle down".
Battery drain seems to be fixed with 2.3.4 for me.
Do you have Latitude activated?

+1, i have one day on Stock JVP with SpeedMod kernel and battery life is rock solid! about 1-2 % per hour in stand by.
This is the 3rd day with xxjvp. My latitude is unninstaled.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
install cpuspy and see. It says it is good for monitoring those processes,. My battery drain is due to overworking android OS,,,haven't figured out a solution yet.
I flashed it again.

The battery drain is gone
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
And the battery lasts longer than froyo
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
I have this same problem, I hope this works for me too
wow.. 1-2 % per hour in stand by?? i think something wrong with my battery.
I unplugged at 9.00 am and drain sooo fast.. 15% left at 1.00 pm!
but with 2.3.4 with speedmod kernel it can last up to 6 hour.. still this is not like others right? I
You must wipe the sdcard because it might have things from previous roms

I was having issues until I did the following......(and I am on the same build as you)
Go into recovery and wipe the dalvik cache. Reboot.
Set the automatic screen tweak under CM settings/user interface
These two things have seemed to make a pretty big difference. I am not running any tweaks or anything and with moderate use (some wifi, 10-15 emails, 4-5 texts, gmail sync) I am at 89% after three hours off the charger. While this isn't great (IMO) it is lots better than I have been getting. Hope that helps.
I had the same issue, but with only 3 hours of life between full charges, and one phone call for 15 mins.
I reverted back to 8/24.
Smolck you mean the automatic back light right?
I wiped kalvic cache... ill see how it goes without batt tweak and no apps running.

Yea. I just set it to what I thought were "power saving" settings. It seems the Dalvik cache is what did the main thing to help. All I can say is that I am still over 80% and I have been off charge since 7:00am CST. And this 8/25 build is SMOKING fast on my phone
It is fast. Its even faster with launcher pro.
Are you using the batt tweak? Which kernel?
Down from 55% to 50% in 75min

That screenshot isn't enough info. But go to settings/about phone/battery use and you will get a better idea of what is using the most power.
From 100 to 90% in 2 1/2 hours now. That's pretty good right? Stock 8/25 kernel w no tweak. If it keeps working ill backup and add other stuff and see

Well I think its fixed. Managed 13 hours and still 35% left using Google maps and Pandora plus regular use. Running the same configuration.

Can someone running this Continuum 5 RC3 & talon kernel and who's used Google Maps apps please check their battery usage? According to my battery usage, google maps is using an excessive amount of battery, even if I'm not using the app. It's at the top of the list for battery use, even exceeding display and it's killing my battery. I dropped from full battery to 75 in less than 2 hours yesterday with no use except to periodically look at the battery level. I don't recall this happening in any of the Froyo ROMS. I even wiped and reflashed both the ROM and kernel just to make sure and it's still happening. I've frozen google maps in TB to stop it, but I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and/or have a solution besides getting rid of it? Thanks.
Uninstalled maps and my battery life is looking MUCH better. You can always dl anothermap app from market.

Hi,
I recently updated my phone to JVQ but now i'm having a battery drain. The cause (i think) is the high percentage of the android-system. By now its 29% and that's alot. I already deleted the programe software-updater so that can't be the trouble maker anymore. Does someone has a fix for this?
Greetings

Yeah....let your battery go completely dead, then try turning on to make sure its dead
Leave your phone off and then plug in charger until its full, then unplug and plug in again to make sure its full
Repeat these steps 2-3 times and it should be all fixed for you
Also....using titanium backup, freeze the program called "Samsung account" that's another culprit in the "battery drain crisis"

I have already done that a few times, friend of mine has completely the same setup as i have and my battery is down twice as fast. Maybe it's the battery itself?

Yes, using deodexed stock jvq rom and speedmod k15-t24. Using black background screen dimmed, and everything to make my battery life the best but it doesn't make it one day. So maybe there is a bug?

Try going back to stock froyo, and flashing cfroot kernel so your phone is rooted but not deodexed or any other mods, then repeat the cycle and see if it gets better that way.

Just flash froyo and then repeat the cycle so i don't need to stay a day or so on froyo?

You'll need to be on froyo for about a week or just over, just until you've repeated the cycle 2-3 times bud

Any help?

Im using Dark Knight 5.5 and SemaphoreICS 1.1.1..What should i do?? The battery just keeps getting used up even if its kept idle for a long time
You can try removing systems app or moving to another ROM
My Android OS only use 4 percents of battery
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk 2
use AOKP or Slim ICS and see how that takes a 180 degree
CM9 is the best one. no battery drain.
It probably has nothing to do with your rom, try better battery stats from market, read the getting started guide, and check for wakelocks.

id say change a kernel. had a similar issue with glitch, moved to devil and problem solved.
use battery calibration

Resetting statistics does nothing for the actual battery life.

I've noticed that my phone spends much battery with the screen off, i think its te Modem what do you think?
Im on cm9 nightlies with semaphore kernel.
this was with almost all the time screen off and 2G, if its fault of the modem recommend me a battery saver modem.

You can instal the Devil kernel and activate "Deep idle"
Also try JuiceDefender
Sorry Bit i use both deep idle and also juice defender, i really dont know what to do!
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
I'm going to say it's the kernel as I'm running the standard one that comes with Cyanogenmod 9 and I don't have this issue. Actually, my battery is above average.
There's a big issue with i9000's running hot and having high drain at the moment. I'm not sure what has caused it on mine. It seemed to happen after I upgraded to CM9 but I have flashed back to 3 different varieties of stock ROM/kernel and same story. Gets really really warm when under load and battery drains at the rate of around 20% an hour when the screen is off, phone is in airplane mode and NOTHING is running (i.e. in deep sleep).
At a real loss as to what to do about it, I've seen a thread about 500 posts long on the official Android forums with i9000 and i9100 users all expressing their frustration over this.
In your battery stats what is showing high drain? Also instal better battery stats and run it for a while to drill down what is causing problem

Hey, appreciate you are well intentioned but have been through all possible diagnostic steps and all documentation/suggestions I can find online. I am an experienced IT pro and have tried EVERYTHING that has been suggested ANYWHERE by ANYONE and there is no fix.
Screen is showing the most, followed by MediaServer then Apollo player. Problem is the battery drains when all those things are killed (i.e nothing is running phone is in deep sleep). This happens overnight when nothing is runnning at all. The battery stats do not change. The processor does not show anything as being used.
Many people have already been through the diagnostic steps and there is simply no answer.
Refer this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1635614
There is a reported bug on the official android site as well but I'm on my work PC and don't have my history from home to drag it up again.
Basically symptoms are
- Battery drains exceedingly quickly ~15% when idling and 25% per hour when in use.
- All diagnostic tools show nothing running or using your battery or CPU
- Phone is warmer than usual in any state (i.e. idling/charging/under load)
- Most folk I've seen with the issue have flashed to CM9 at some point but that is not a consistent truth.
Another screenshot that shows that the mobile standby consumes almost the same of screen

In your first post, i saw your "señal de red móvil", is very poor. Have one or two little line green ( best signal ).
As is the signal coverage where you are? The signal is good or poor?
and when you get with wi-fi on, the battery drains very fast.
Sorry for my poor english.
its poor man, thats why i want a battery saver modem, and the wifi battery drain its horrible, please help me!

guys, now i have a almost one full day with normal use, i dont know if i can get better results or whatever, but im happy with this result, i've done it downgrading to GB and i'm happy with it, but i would prefer to stay in ICS, but well im not bad with GB.
