Where to put themes that end with .theme???

Hi:
I've been trying out some themes but really i dont know in what file or where on my diamond to put them so i can use them in the phone. Please, help me out here, im new to this.

I juz got a HTC Dream but how do i change the themes? how do i install other apps to my dream?
I very new at this hope all the experts out there can help...

I wanted to ask if anyone can share some useful links on how to cook a rom from scratch (for instance, how can I set Go Launcher as launcher and make it update when Go Team updates it? - just an example ) and other little configurations like that.

Hi to all. I have been searching the forums for two days and i am really confused about theming. Can anyone help? I have in my X1 the Energy rom with Sense. It is a great rom but i would like to change the theme but i can't understand which themes i can install. I can install all the themes from this post:

i think but i am not sure.I am lost. I can install the themes for sense 2.5? Please help. Thanks.
