DSPManager on android 2.2 - HD2 Android Themes and Apps

Sorry for my English (google translator)
Hello.
I wanted to share with you my program DSPManager modification.
I use the android version 2.2 and only DSPManager running on that system 2.2 is rather weak, even tragic.
Its gain is +- 6 dB, very little.
My modification has to +- 50 dB.
Now we can use the audio player system and thus have extra sound DSPManager.
In the attached screenshots you can see how I have set up bars 36.0 , 14.6 , 0.0 , 12.1 , 27.7 me such a setting very responsible.
I have the program installed on the HTC HD2, I do not know if other phones work.
Feel free to test.

Possible to port HTC Music.apk to Android 2.1?

is it possible to port the HTC Music player from Sense 2.1 to a vanilla Android 2.1 such as Cannon, Open Eclair, etc?
i'm guessing changes need to be made to the build.trout and sapphire.prop files...
I'd say it is possible. Whatever works on 1.6 will also work on newer versions of Android (i guess)
But the HTC music widget is checking the build.prop and so on. Maybe that could somehow be disabled?
You can also just take an htc sense 2.1 dump
Maybe the framework from semse can be taken like it was possible in 1.5 roms?
that's what i was thinking as well. can't really do anything at the moment since i'm at work.
It's gonna be the same as the 1.5 version, framework problems and things that need to be ported, not a direct drop and edit a few text files.
bump thread
I would love to have htc music app on a 2.1 rom
It's a lot of changing in the framework and then a simple push of the Music.apk file. Unfortunately changing framework from source is complex and not for beginners.
We might have better luck using the music.apk from the MT3G LE since it's very similiar (if not identical) and it already works on 1.6. Haven't tried it though.
That's the thing, you can't do it like that because of the closed source HTC framework.

From the LE yes, but from Hero, no. It's been done for a few Cyanogen ROM versions... but it's old (I think back in early 4.0 days).
I have my HTC Magic and before I upgraded I could add songs to the now playing list before the current song finished playing. So I could make a song/album play after the current one was done. After I did the upgrade to the latest ROM I cannot add songs to the play queue and that sucks.
I have tried Mixzing and I can add to now playing, but it adds them at the end and I can't move them.
Like if I have 10 songs in my list and am on #5 when I add a song it becomes #11, sometimes I want it to be #6 (Play right after the current song). I cannot change the order of the play list. On the new ROM's default player I can but there's no point if I can't even add songs to it. All I can do it take an album and add it to Now Playing, if I want to hear a song from a different album then I have to clear the list and change it to that album...
Does anyone have a copy of the old HTC Music that lets you add songs to now playing, and if not does anyone know a Music app that lets you add songs to now playing and change the order of the play queue. I cannot beleive there aren't any apps to do this, I searched the market and google for Music players and not one does this...

Skinning a music player

Let me start off saying I have exactly 5 days of Android experience, with my rooted B&N nook (weird not to capitalize that) and that I loath the default music player.
It runs Android 1.5, I've tried a couple 1.5 music players but they were closed source and nearly impossible to use. (Mixzing, 3/^3/Cubed, btunes wouldn't install) With the nook's setup, Android sees one screen, 600x944 with 120 pixels cropped at the right because the 480x144 LCD screen that displays the loader isn't as wide. The default music player is abysmal.
So I am here, with the Android SDK + all 1.5 related things installed to it, instructions for running the firmware in the emulator, and my rooted nook. Hoping somebody will give me some tips as to how I can take some open source player (defualt one of some other device?) and change the UI as to make the normal controls reachable on the LCD with (not necessarily needed) the filemanager/playlist displaying up top. Or build my own simple one.
Still researching and reading on my own, but any direct help would be amazing. This might also launch me into developing some more much needed apps for the nook...
Thanks
im not sure i understand but look up the music beautification mod by elliot stocker i do believe

[Q] DSP manager on other roms

one of the features i like the most in cm7 is DSP manager app. does someone knows a way how i could get it on other roms, or is there an app that provides the same settings?
Just copy /system/app/dspmanager.apk and /system/lib/soundfx/libcyanogendsp.so from CM and paste both at same path in new rom. I use it that way and it does work

I installed DSP Manager comes from CM7, and the dynamic range compression doesent work. Everything else works great...
My tracks sounds very good with dynamic range compression on CM7. Actually what is it doing? And how?
Nice bump

BUMP!, one of the features that keeps me in CM7 instead stock based roms... Stock based have alarm/stopwatch/timer/ in one place, divx official support and HDMI auto/1080p/720p/480p/etc... + I love colorized android settings
Any suggestion how to import these features (including full DPS with dynamic range that makes music sound awesome) that whould be great indeed.
any apk available?

I'm also trying to get dynamic range compression to work for DSP manager. I installed the .apk from CM7 on my Samsung Galaxy player YP-G70 running Gingerbread 2.3.5 and all DSP features work except Dynamic Range compression. Does anyone know if it needs to be flashed as a ROM to make it work? My device is rooted, however there is no support for it for CM7 yet. I get no responses to this question when I post on the Cyanogen forums, most likely because my Samsung device isn't supported and I'm being ignored.
Yes, yes I know, everybody hates Dynamic range compression, "It's destroying music" blah! blah! blah! But there are many times when it's needed, especially on small devices like android phones and PMP's. Listening to music, movies and video clips on these devices in noisy environments, or on small speakers can be difficult to hear the quieter passages of the content. then of course when the loud parts come in, they blast the speakers or headphones with distortion. I cant believe there aren't any Android apps out there to address this situation. Anybody know of one that maybe isn't on the android marketplace?
May be,
DRC feature of DSPManager is framework integrated. Check CM Vs stock ROM's framework

I tried it on the CM7 firmware and it didn't work any better than when I hacked it into the stock firmware. Specifically DRC, the rest worked fine except for the EQ which crashes (FC) on the stock firmware. Not sure why.

[Q] HTC applications on Xperia X1

Hello.
Sorry if this has been answered, I didn't find it, apparently.
I keep hearing that the Audio Booster 2.5 WVGA application available on HTC units can be run on Xperia X1i. My attempts to install it (CAB installs OK) result in an installation that won't run but will complain that it's missing components (when run from explorer, when from menu, no error pops up at all, but the same error sound dings).
I suppose that means I have to install some HTC libraries or drivers to get it to work if at all possible. Can someone please consult me in detail on this issue? DL URLs with brief instructions are welcome, if possible.
Thank you very much for your time, gentlemen (and ladies).
Your ROM is the original version?!? My ROM came with this app and works fine. There are other apps like this, did u try others?!
If u just want play your music louder, u can try a - real - player like GSPlayer, CorePlayer, coz they have a really good eq system.
Yes, my ROM is the original version. I stress, I own a SE XPERIA X1 unit, so its original ROM couldn't have come with an application that is from a competitor and requires competitor's libraries/drivers to run. So either you've misread the topic and don't own an Xperia, or your ROM is not original.
I am looking for a decent system mixer/equalizer compatible with WinMo 6.1 Pro WVGA 800*480. I want savable presets and all that jazz. Parametrics aren't necessary, even unwanted. Just a decent equalizer that could preferably integrate with MS WMP.
I don't want to just run louder or more quiet. I want an equalizer. Extra features are appreciated if it does its primary job well. To the best of my knowledge the Audio Booster 2.5 was just that: an intuitive quality equalizer that was designed for 800*480 displays. Being that many applications from HTC Touch Pro 2 have been ported to Xperia, I'm assuming this one may have been as well.
Thank you for you input.

Nexus 7 Grouper Custom ROM for Low Memory Usage Better Sound More Data Onscreen

I have been working on a custom rom for my own peronal requirements, namly
1) low memory use
2) The best true hi-fi sound possible from a nexus 7
3) Getting the most data onscreen as possible
I decided to share my findings in hope that other more knowledgeable can point me in the right direction for my next step
1) The lowest memory use rom ( flashed as stock, ie no extra mods and kernel that came with the mod ) i have tried ( having tried about 20 different roms, 32 if you include updates ) is the Vanir based PRIME rom by prime directive
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2098139
As standard that reads an average of 400mb on a newly installed system ( after a full wipe including internal sd data ).
Obviously apps squew these statistics so tests are done with only the OS going, ie no app loaded. In my tests i used a custom gapps with only framework, login, setup, and phonesky, later i integrated those into my test rom.
Now if we flash a trinity ( alpha3 1700oc ) or Omega kernel that goes down to approx 300mb
Now if we load Rom Toolbox Pro, and advanced freeze the crappy google services from playstore and framework ( and freeze the downloaded services altogether ) this goes down to 270mb ( and no loss of function in playstore )
On my test system with the test rom i am using ( incorporating all the above and including multirom ) and 60+ apps ( mainly programming engineering git etc some autostarting ) i am running at 344mb ( measured through settings>apps>running ) or 260mb measured through Trickster mod.
2) I have found combining the KingBeats alsa binaries with V4A frontend gives the best sound in 2 scenarios.
a) Listening through high quality headphones, obviously you will be listening to FLAC's or raw WAVES ( maybe some of the other more esoteric lossless compressors ) and you DO NOT WANT any undue post processing of the digital audio stream ( ie equalizers and various audio effects which claim to "enhance" the sound ) so you use Andless ( which i have now included in my test rom ) which hits alsa directly bypassing the entire android audio enhancement chain. This with the much improved alsa binaries this gives the best sound possible with the on-board electronics.
b) Listening to radio etc through external portable speakers, Bluetooth or equivalent, or listening through crap headphones. Here quality counts less than portability and convenience and big benefits can be gained from post processing the audiostrem, so you are probably listening to streamed MP3 or AAC and possibly further streaming to a Bluetooth device over a VERY low bandwidth link, In this situation i use the included V4A settings util, which seems to be the best in this genera, just turn it on and play with the many settings till you get the mix you desire, this will in no way interfere with the sound quality from andless
3) I have my dpi cranked up to 140 and use my little finger and a stylus, i would like to go further and use desktop mode ( available from trhe power menu ) permanently, unfortunately There is a bug with the pie controls, and pie is not great anyway, so i am looking at integrating this project http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788518
which has a really sweet touch navigation interface
I know my way round C a bit, lots of linux distro experience, not bad at bash, zero java
What do you guys think is my next step, do i need to learn some java and get hands dirty or can i find what am after out there somewhere
I been trying to find a very fast low ram setup myself in order to data log stuff for my vehicles. My best find so far was SLIMbean (everything not needed erased or frozen), along with Trinity (not current release). Kernel settings played a large improvement setting i\o to deadline, and oc to 1500-1600. Haven't tried the rom your specifying for this experiment, but will play with that. I need to log ~20 inputs at 1hz (1sec) for a few min, so a lot of read and writes happening at the same time.

Prime should be good for that, i think you'll be surprised at the stats for memory, be wary thou Prime 04-02 ( which is what im experimenting on ) has quite a few unresolved bugs, and since no one seems to run any kind of bug tracker ( bugzilla folkes ! ) they will only get resolved if and when Prime directive gets a new computer and finds them himself.
If you get really stuck knock together a specific linux setup and run it under multirom, you can use any of the linux based custom kernels ( that have the kex patch ) running init on a custom userland if your running a single application without xorg you can just init straight into it and cut out all the normal android and linux userland crap, just pick and compile what you need ( linux from scratch is your friend here ) to run your app, if its anything to do with linux its dependencies will be well documented. The obvious problem is user input since you dont have a keyboard and you are prob using the usb for you datalogger, any osk will mean xorg and a shed load of deps, but if its a auto setup maybe you can do with the 3 hardware buttons ?( accessible through acpi and udev rules ) for on-of etc, that will save you a shed load of ram.
If you really need input and an osk try Linux from scratch with E17, E17 is built for touch ( and multi-touch) screens so is sweet, and can run in as little as 100mb all in
I plan to turn this hunt into a rom one day, am hesitant to let my experimental one out since i have no real code input, ive just been swapping apk's bins etc and writing scripts, dont really constitute a new rom
