[Q] How to remove TouchWiz from Infuse 4G?? - Android Themes

I really want to get rid of TouchWiz from my Samsung Infuse 4G, but I don't know of any ways. I know how to root, but I don't know the rest. All I know is that the Infuse has Android 2.2 "Froyo," and that it is TouchWiz 3.0. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
P.S. Yes, I am a noob.

I don't know about removing it but if you don't like it as a launch I would suggest using a different launcher
app such as Launcher Pro or tthe ADW2 Beta

My friend uses an epic 4g. I introduced him to adwlauncher ex, and he loves it! So I suggest that. So far, he had no problems, and everything is working as expected

[Q] Restore HTC Launcher?

Hi there Folks!
I'm running EspressoEnergy mod for my Hero by PMGRANDS. Awesome ROM!
I'm wondering if there's an easy way to switch the launcher (not sure if this is the right word.. the bottom bar that has phone, applications, and add (+) ) back to the original one provided by HTC?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Yep, you're correct on the terminology! You're well on your way!
And that's a great question. I would like to know that too.
search the market. I use ADW EX but Zeam is great too. there is an app that will switch them or press home with 2 or more launchers and it will bring up a selector. Sorry I misread the question You need an HTC based Rom to get the launcher back.
He's on sense based Rom

Pmgrands' looks different in the screen shots of his OP. Maybe try liquidsense or nfx roms. Or ask someone like kifno who has experience with that rom.

You're favorite home screen, and do you use gtalk?

As the topic stats, what's your favorite home screen replacement for android?
And do you use gtalk?
If you do, add me [email protected]
My personal favorite homscreen is Arc Launcher from the xperia!
LauncherPro
Adw ex...and I do not use gtalk, never really tried it honestly
swyped from my cyanogenized and gingerbreaded EVO
Launcher pro FTW! (F*ck the what?!)
Nah I have texting, there's no reason for g-talk
ADW EX. Although I sometimes use LPP when I'm bored. I also have Slidescreen Pro installed to play around with.

Dude, its YOUR in that sense. -sigh- I'm a grammar Nazi, shhh.
I personally use good old HTC Sense 2.0 though. Couldn't really care about the speed or anything, its just for looks until I actually get off my ass back on to my ass to root my phone so I can put CM7/GB on it, and then use LauncherPro.

depending what rom i have flashed... either Sense 2.0 or ADW ex... no gtalk for me..
ADW EX for me. It was spb mobile shell 5 for a while. No gtalk for me.
Sent using XDA Premium App.
The one that came with the ROM I just flashed. And yes, I gtalk all the time on my phone.
adw ex love all the themes
ADW EX whenever I'm not using the stock launcher in MIUI....mostly all my homeboys have android smartphones and we do use gtalk...

I used LauncherPro until I switched over to Fission, now I just use the Android stock. I never really used LP features too much, the one I wanted to use would just freeze my phone.
I use Gtalk with my cousin and 2 other people, don't have too many friends with android phones and most of them don't like to use Gtalk. I love it. I know some Blackberry users and most of them are obsessed with BBM, I wish it was the same with Android and Gtalk. D:
Go launcher EX, and im using Gtalk
I use my xperia x8 default launcher.
And I prefer to use whatsapp instead of gtalk.

[Q] Galaxy S2 Touchwiz rom?

Is it possible to port samsung galaxy s2 (touchwiz 4.0) to htc aria??
I have looked in many places and have found some 'themes' but I would like an actual rom.
There is a port of the entire touchwiz 4 launcher here on xda.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Yeah I have seen that but:
1. Doesn't work on the aria
2. I was looking for a rom that was exactly the same as samsung galaxy s2 - like same applications, same home screen, same lock screen etc...
but thanks anyway
if the launcher doesnt work, what makes you think a rom could be made from it?
The launcher wasn't specifically made for htc aria - thats why it didn't work.
but a rom has to be made specifically for ONE phone so i was wondering if someone had made one?
You've seen the difference in the aria and sgsII specs right?

yeah i know.....so you don't think it is possible at all?

It's definitely worth switching in my opinion there's absolutely no down side, the stock launcher sucks and most others are customizable. Go launchers pretty good, I like adw better but it's all about what you prefer. Be careful if deleting stock apps they can be trouble if they're not deodexed.

I have noticed that while browsing through root file manager you can find the apks of the stock apps .....I'll look into it a little ... I deleted bing and was able to reinstall it that way .... I wonder if I could do the same with stock launcher if needed

I would freeze the stock home not uninstall it just in case you needed to get it back.

Good idea I didn't think about that ... so what about battery you think it'll still drain like crazy ... and sometimes launchers lag a little more than stock launchers?

I've tried a ton of launchers, if you want one that's quick and light on your battery i'd go with zeam launcher. Adw is more customizable and still very fast, go launcher felt a little slower to me but still a good option, launcher pro is okay but in my opinion slower than the others. You should try a few out until you find one that works for you...

I would say yes replace the stock launcher but don't uninstall it. If any issues arise with go launcher you need thestock one to be there

+1 for Zeam!
I've tried dozens including Go but I always, always come back to Zeam. I like mine clean and fast and Zeam delivers.
If you want themes then definitely give Go a shot. TONS of devs on that one. And I wouldn't worry about battery. I keep Go installed so I can use Go Locker and have never had issues. /t

Samsung Widgets on custom roms

Hello.
Back in the days of eclaire when NY captivate was stock, I really enjoyed having Samsung Widgets, like "buddies" or whatever it was called.
Fast forward to today, and I'm really liking this rom called TW-ICS which is CM9 with the touchwiz framework (I think) and the gs3 launcher port.
I'm really liking hoe the device feels, its got that stock zing that brought me to Samsung, but ics and rooted with a nice OC.
However, I still don't have the Samsung Widgets that I really enjoyed having back...a year ago (when I saw the light and came android from blackberry)
Is there any way to get this buddy Widgets like on stock roms, or even something like friend stream on htc?
Thanks.
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA
Its like you read my mind lol...ive been asking my self the same question since i my self like the buddies, days and fb widget samsung has
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA
Do you know where I could get them? Or how I could run them on non-samsung software?
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA
Simple answer is you can't. Those Widgets need the touchwiz launcher as well as the Samsung framework files to work. Both of which CM rooms don't have. It is the same for sense
