Not flashing for me either with CWM 3.1.0.1 says "Amend scripting is no longer supported. It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the Clockworkmod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery. Please switch to Edify scripting (update-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages"
Which I do not know how to do. Please help.

Same message here. Not flashing.

Pull it from the zip and install it like an app from your card. Works great.

Extracted with root explorer and moved to sys/apps, worked. Thanks

The .so file needs to be edited. In the orginal zip you can find it.
But from my experiences it just bricks the phone.

[AUDIO][CWM3][01/21/11] Custom Boot/Shutdown Sounds - Edify/Amend

[01/21/11] These new .zip files are updated to work with all versions of CWM, the scripts are both Edify and Amend friendly. Enjoy!
Previews:
Startup
Shutdown
Shutdown 2
Shutdown 3
There are 6 files attached here, all flashable through ClockworkMod. The titles of the files should be self-explanatory. You'll notice that one of the .zip's will flash you back to the stock Epic boot and shutdown sounds.
I've confirmed that they work with DI18 stock (rooted), DK28 stock (rooted), and Bonsai 1.1.4, so I don't see why they wouldn't work on any ROM.
Your phone must be rooted and have ClockworkMod Recovery (any version).
*I suppose I must do the obligatory I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU JACK YOUR PHONE UP*
Instructions:
- download flashable .zip and flash through clockwork.
That's it, reboot and enjoy!

No, the sound effect is a portion of (what I believe to be) the Droid Incredible boot sound; I created the "epic" and associated sound processing.

Pretty sweet! It does kind of remind me of the first time I saw Optimus Prime transform in the live action move. The "Epic" part is a nice touch.
Need help getting this to work. I have done every step to the T, and still no avail. I have custom boot animations as well as custom boot sounds but, for some reason this one file just says unsupported file type after clicking on it in /system/etc folder. It plays while on the sdcard itself. So if you know a work around that would be great cause this boot sounds is awesome.

This is probably a dumb question, but did you unzip the .wav first? Assuming that you did, you should have a file on your sd card with the name "PowerOn.wav"; if you copy that file into /system/etc you should have no problem. Verify that you have a file in that folder with that exact name, not just the "PowerOn.bak" that you may have created in backup up your original boot sound.
What file manager are you using? I've done this using both Astro and Root Explorer and am able to select the file in /system/etc and it plays on the built in music player.
Added the option to flash through clockwork, updated OP with options.
very nice I will install this
reminds me of transformers or THX

You read my mind! I've been learning about how to make one today. The only catch is, it will only work on a ROM with a custom kernel, or a kernel that has been modified and re-compiled. Currently the only Froyo ROM that I know of that this might be an option with is Mammon's Bonsai ROM (which is what I run).
I'll keep fiddling and see what I can come up with.

you can custom your boot up sound: make a wav file, name it PowerOn.wav, copy it to /etc folder.
I have a custom tried that it doesn't work apparently its a kernel issue

From what I understand if the kernel supports custom boot image then boot sound will not work. Could be wrong though.

It has to do with the ROM choice as well, I believe the boot sound is contained within the odex, so if the rom is deodexed, there will be no boot sound.
Who's rom/kernel supports boot audio in determined to have both ill figure it out

[App] App 2 zip flashable apps backup

App2zip does not work for all the devices, it's still experimental and not widely tested, so first of all, especially before backing-up something important, make some test to see whether it works for you (e.g. open App2zip and put in the flashable zip some apps you don't really care, uninstall them and then restore the zip via CWM recovery).
---------------------------------------------------
App2zip allows to backup applications directly to a zip file flashable via CUSTOM recovery, you can build your own update.zip on the fly, no need for PC.
ROOT REQUIRED!
Building your flashable zip is easy:
1) Choose the apps to be included in the zip file
2) Click GO! and wait until the zip is done. That's it!
Even system apps can be included in the zip file but make sure they don't have dependencies and they don't share data with other system apps (otherwise they won't be restored properly).
Restore via stock recovery is not supported yet.

Sdcard/cwm/backups
Once there long press the file you wanna rename and choose "rename" and just make sure to not put "spaces" while renaming your backup.. instead you can put "/" or "-"..

Yes Optimus 3D is safe. This is what I use. It works on both the Optimus 3D and the Thrill. Using this option you can also get cwm touch recovery. I use Rom manager to flash cwm recovery. The 'Thrill' cwm recovery that we were manually installing is also an Optimus 3D recovery image.

you can rename them with any file manager, but to restore it has to be the original file name, so when renaming them add a prefix and then delete only what you added and it will flash with out a mismatch.

Have you tried restoring the rom whitout changing name to see if it works ?? Otherwise just take the numbers like : 1039.3.203030 and on your pc make a new note using note pad and name it whatever you wanna name it so it should look lile this :
102.2034.3404 = Energy Rom might not be the best solution but a quick workaround...

I would also agree that it is safe. I just flashed it yesterday and it works perfectly. ROM Manager is a nice app to have.
I know this thread is a few months old, but just figured i'd update this for anyone else who may be having issues, or might have issues in the future and google's it... but you can rename the backups to whatever you feel like and have no issues restoring it due to MD5 sums mismatches. The only thing is that you can't use spaces. If you absolutely have to have some form of a space in the name of the folder for the backup, use a period or something instead.
