Hi guys,
I've been trying out most of the custom roms on gingerbread, particulary CM based ones, but it seems like none of them are able to fetch gmail notifications. Installing secondary apps such as Gmail Notifications or LG Notifications does not seem to help either. It seems like there is a problem with syncing. Anyone else experiencing the same problem? Are there any fixes out there for this?
Did you install the GApps package as well as the ROM?

Hi all,
I have CheckNotifications...done that. All of a sudden, my calendar reminders just stopped working.
What causes this? I haven't installed anything lately. More so, how does one fix this?

I am using CyanogenMod 4.2.9.1 on the TMO G1(Black)
Since updating to the latest stable Cyanogen build, Gmail does not seem to be syncing properly. Whereas before, emails would show up on my phone before Mail on my Mac, now I'm lucky if they make it to my phone without me accessing mail and refreshing. None of the sync settings have been changed and I have done nothing other than update to the latest stable release.
Is there anything else that would interfere with this sync, or anything I can try to remedy the issue? Thanks!
I updated the facebook app and I noticed that it's not synching my contacts anymore. I tried to go on the account & sync section of the settings and it doesn't allow me to add a facebook account. The option is there but when I press it nothing happens.
Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a way to fix it?
I have had the same problem with CyanogenMod for a while.
I uninstalled Facebook, and installed it from market again. And voila!
However, to uninstall it i think you need to be rooted
no problem for that, I just installed cyanogenmod too thanks for the advice. this is a major problem though for whoever is not rooted....
I had the same problem. (search my threads).....
all I did was log off facebook app and log back into facebook app and it seems to be working fine now.
the facebook app isnt really consistent in general, maybe its just me, but it never alerts me even tho the notifications are ste to "on" and its not as robust as the iphone app but its all good it will happen sooner or later
I am having a problem with facebook contact syncing on my SGS. The contacts all sync to my phone fine, but i have noticed that even if i have the same name in my phonebook as i do for a facebook friend it joins the 2 together.
Only problem is that if i join 2 people of the same name, it seems to use the profile photo and status of another facebook user, and there seems to be no way to sort it, i have tried deleting facebook account from phone and resyncing it, i have tried manually joining the contacts and still nothing.
Anyone else experienced this?

and I'm having several problems.
One of them is that k9 email client stopped working
(stalls at syncing, or syncing is disabled).
So I'm trying the (much less configurable and more limited)
stock email app.
My main problem with it is that notifications do not work
(yes, I enabled them on the account setup).
Any idea? CYM problem or just the nightly?

I upgraded 3 nightlies, and still same problem with stock email app.
And I discovered many other problems since I posted this.
Did CyanogenMod abandon the Note?
