Samsung releases a USB adapter for the 10.1" Tab - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab-accessories/EPL-1PL0BEGSTA
Do you guys think this will work for our 7" tabs as well?

if u checked there in ( Will this accessory work with my Product ) you will found that galaxy tab P1010 will work with it .. but i couldn't found p1000 ? ?? ? ? ?

Isn't the p1010 the wifi only version of the tab? So perhaps it will work with the p1000 too.

Very tempting.... The lack of a usb host port is my only beef with the Tab

Sorry....where did you see that? They are showing just HC 3.1 10.1" devices there....

Yes it only shows 10.1 ,anyway no android supports usb host except honeycomp 3.1 we may have hardware but no os support
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA App

I think it's in the kernel and not in os because I have USB HOST via USB OTG on SGS2 !
So... there is hope for P1000

[Q] OTG with Android 4.2.1 CM10.1 beta6 21.01.2013

Hello,
its my first post here...
I have installed Android 4.2.1 CM10.1 beta6 21.01.2013 on my ACE S5830 (also first time).
It runs good!
I want to use it with a DAC (SMSL SAD-25) and also in combination with USB storage.
So I tried my OTG cable and different USB pens and also my DAC.
Nothing happens after linking it to the cell phone.
Does this Firmware not support OTG?
How can I get OTG support on my ACE?
Thanks yours Tobbes_
Hey!
It's also my first post here.
I'd like to know, if any soft/kernel with OTG support for ACE exists?

[Q] Usb host support (otg) cyanogenmod 10 stable with samsung galaxy s gt i9000

Hi everyone, as I said in the title I have some questions about the usb host support on galaxy s gt i9000 with cyanogenmod 10 stable.
Everything started with the desire to attach my xbox 360 controller to my phone, unfortunately I realized it was not so easy on my model; so I started digging on the internet trying to find a way to achieve what I was seeking.
Everything that has to do with the usb host support is only a matter of software (kernel) or harware aswell?
Is my i9000 doomed to stay with this support forever?
And the Big question, does cyanogenmod 10 have this support? Is the kernel of this wersion supposed to have this support?
Thanks to everyone who can help me...
Nice. Today i have near the same question. But, i think, i can help you a bit.
The USB-Host-Support is coming with the kernel. One of them with support should be Semaphore.
But i have at least the same question.
I have Fishears Rom installed, but can´t get the app "usb host controller" working, because it is missing the S3C USB Host driver.
Does anyone know, how i can get it working with fishears?
Thanks

Have you tried Semaphore Kernel? I think, this will run. Can´t try it atm, because it doesn´t work with físhears

mmm...semaphore eh? do I have to change rom? are u talking about kernels only?
IMO this Feature is coming for the sgs with specific kernel. And Semaphore Kernel has this feature in his Feature-List.

Most 4.2 kernel already supported USB otg, but needed external power host on it, don't know bout Xbox but if our on 4.2, juz find some otg controller on stores n try it
If not, need to find some kernel that support but most otg supported kernel starts at cm9 as base.
Semaphore kernel is provide good usb-host compatibility. I using it now. Look at this message http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41939030&postcount=552
I will try another populary kernels later.
help me

You can do it by using semaphore kernel. But you will need external supply

[Q] Micro Usb stick

Hi there,
New here so don't judge me to rough.
So my question is if there is any way to connect a micro usb stick to the phone. I have a duo usb stick (with 2 connectors normal and micro usb) and tryed to use it on my s5 mini and failed. On a Lg G2 it's working fine....why not on s5 mini?
Waiting for answers, Thx!
USB OTG (on the go) is not officially supported by the s5 mini. Somebody here in the forum has compiled a custom kernel to enable it.
You'll have to search for it.
Regards
Keliuss

thx keliuss for the info...i though that maybe there is an option or somethig to be activated.
changing the kernel is not an option for me because i prefer to keep the original intact.
thx again
