[Q] After updating firmware to I9000ZSJV5, SMS "Reply" function/button missing.
Hi All,
Good Day!!!
After upgrading my GT-I9000 16GB firmware from 2.2.1 to 2.3.3 (JV5) via KIES
on my PC, Everything works fine except the below SMS functions is missing:
1. If I click on a SMS for reading, it is opening and showing in the yellow colour background.
But not able to open the SMS in a larger black screen.
2. If I single touch/click on the yellow coloured SMS, then SMS is only flickering and nothing happened.
3. If I touch and hold the SMS, then it is showing "Message Option" Which showing the below Functions:
"Delete message, Copy message Text, Lock msg, Forward, Copy to SIM, View msg detail".
But "REPLY" function is missing in the "Message Option" menu.
4. So, I am not able to reply to the SMS, because "REPLY" function is missing in the menu.
The "REPLY" function was working perfectly on the previous
2.2.1 firmware, But after upgrading to 2.3.3 (JV5), I am not able to reply to any SMSs.
Did you faced this this kind of problem on your JV5 firmware?
Kindly suggest.
Thank you.

Hi once again,
Since i disabled sms message from displaying in today screen, i dont get any notification anymore. I only know that there is a message if i open the sms inbox folder.
Is there a way of keep that message display disabled, but receiving notification aswell as the numbers of messages to be read?

Suddenly, and without provocation...(as far as I can remember lol) tapping on tf3d mail envelopes or new sms no longer opens the message.
I get the click, and the envelope responds, but doesn't open the message.
Have searched but can not find any similar problems or tweaks that may help me restore what appears to be a lost link of some sort.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I can access the messages by tapping the "Inbox" tab but then have to open the message from there adding precious seconds to the opening of the message.
had a similar problem - although 'Inbox' did not show me the messages either (had just flashed ROM to 1.93)
For me it was applying 'HTC Black Theme for 1.3 Roms' - removed it (restored the ugly t-mob pink one) and sms is working again...
Thank you for the response, however I do not have any additional themes installed...just what was on the phone.
Any other ideas?
I have just updated to 2.03 after having 1.93 firmware for a long time
The problem I'm having is I'll receive a new SMS, with the green (1) next to the SMS icon in the bottom slide bar, I'll open up the SMS, converse with the person involved for a few SMS msgs, exchange SMS messages with the conversation screen open, then after hitting "OK" on the top right corner, the green sms (1) will not go away until I go through the new SMS that i received with that person (That conversation), open, OK back to touchflo3D, open, OK back to touchflo3D..., open OK......, it did not happen before with 1.93, I'll just hit OK and it recognised that I have already read it, being that I've just had a page long conversation with them.
Is there a setting that I'm missing? Thanks.

Thanks for the link
Okay. When I receive a SMS from Maxis (my telco, no number it just shows up as Maxis.), I pull down notification bar and I press it and it open up Messaging apps but wrote 'No valid recipients'. I can see the brief messages in Notification Bar like "You have a missed call from ..." but not able to see it in Messaging app, why?
I'm on Simplicity 0.4pre, tried to ask them in the thread but I'm under 10 posts?! Does not have this problem before, and I'm lazy to go back to stock to try out
Running CM7+Glitch
I cannot seem to find how to make my phone vibrate when I recieve a text message, or have the message notification display on top of apps when I'm in a other app. (e.g. the only way for me to see if I have a message is to go back to the desktop)
Any help here would be appreciate
