[GSM][TMO] Bluetooth prfiles support in Tmo tab? - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Going to experiment with SPP profile.
Does anyone have a list of all the Bluetooth Profiles that are supported in the Tmo Galaxy Tab with stock ROM? Seems like every carrier (except perhaps AT&T) has totally screwed around with the BT stack. So. Does anyone have a legit list of profiles on Tmo?
And Yes I googled and got lists from ars.samsung.com but none are for Tmo variant.
TIA

Anyone changed Roms yet?

If so, which ones are you finding work best with the Tytn II?
Thanks
I'm leaving mine as god intended until some other brave soles test stuff out...
adding voip capability
I am particularly interested in adding VOIP capability, and have read elsewhere that you can simply add the relevant .cab files (or something like that)
Anyone tried that?
ATT Rom
I've flashed mine 3 times now, using the AT&T ROM posted here by Incognitho.
Mine isnt an AT&T branded phone. It works great but I want to try a different ROM that doesnt have all the extra crap AT&T includes.

AT&T Videocall...

Hi all...
Is it possible to make videcalls with AT&T tilt using only back cam?
I've read that there is no hardware permission to do it...
Is it true?
Thanks a lot...
I can only say from the carrier perspective that if it is possible you'd better have the correct plan to allow it or else you'll get charged up the yahoo ...... sorry
AT&T does not support video calls. It never worked on my Hermes and I tested with someone who had it working in Europe.
Later, Lew
Oh my GOD...
Do you think that is possible to do it with some particular ROM or is there an hardware difference with the HTC?

NOPE. It will try to connect to a server you don't & can't have access to from the AT&T net.

I'm using it with Italian 3 3G Operator. Videocall is supported. I tried to do it with a friend: i saw him but don't saw me.
I think that if i'll be able to active he back cam during a videocall it will work.
Exist a specific software that do it?

it actually does support video calls, just only in select areas and on special phones.
It would only be possible to do so if AT&T was propositioned to do so by the NSA.

[Q] Name Display (CNAP) on Rogers

Anyone on Rogers managed to get this to work? I miss not being able to see the name of the person/company who is calling me.
+1
From what I understood, we need to activate ro.ril.enable.cnap=1 in build.prop.
I tried that, no go (CM7 RC2)
Anyone have any other idea?

Yeah, that doesn't work on a stock ROM either. There's obviously something we are missing.

I would also love to have this. The information must be being sent TO the phones, right? There must be a way.
There's gotta be a way indeed. But alas, it's way beyond my expertise
Some Android phones do support CNAP. So it must be a problem with the software/radio.
Any guru volunteering to help out?
This was a big "WTF, seriously?" for me when I got my Nexus One after having a Nokia N95 for years where this worked perfectly. I've gotten used to it, but I'd love to have the name display again.
Do other carriers do this? People I know using Bell or Telus were surprised or even didn't believe me when I said I used to get name display with my N95, which suggests maybe they don't. Anyone know how common it is for carriers to send the name? I've been with Rogers for over 10 years now and just figured it was a standard thing like with landlines.
I had my SE W810i (best non-smartphone by far) and it worked perfectly. Since then, tried many phones, none of them supported CNAP. Had a nokia that would support it but wouldn't keep it in the call list. Pretty useless when I got missed calls.
I know some android phones do support CNAP. So this is entirely possible. We just need one of the gurus to figure out what has to be done!
I think it has something to do with this file : /data/misc/rild_ril.cnap
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App

I believe Rogers is the only Canadian carrier that offers CNAP/name-display.
I remember the difficulties we had in trying to get it to work on Windows Mobile devices. There was a work-around, but it required , but it required using a specific file (rilphone.dll) from a Rogers ROM for the same/similar device... Maybe we need the /data/misc/rild_ril.cnap from a Rogers ROM for a similar device...
If I'm not mistaken, the Rogers Samsung Galaxy supports CNAP.

I think what we need is an HTC device that has a Rogers ROM with CNAP working, which I don't think exists...

N1 Orange UK UMA?

Would any dev's be able to integrate this into CM7 or something standalone? Its such an important feature it would be incredible to have.
Seems http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1208830 have had a bit of luck with the SGII. I know the N1 doesn't support UMA but AFAIK its software based, and we didn't have an FM radio or 720p to start with either!
Any thoughts?
There is the wifi calling app, but I know that was originally just for T-Mobile phones in the states. I am not sure if it works with other UMA-enabled operators. I know it originally started out on xda, but I am not positive on the link, but I think they have their own site now and it is here http://unforgivendevelopment.com/ It is blocked at work, so I can't verify it.

I came across them too, but for Orange UK it would require their specific app and some specific tunneling to work.
Anyone?....

Nexus 6 WiFi calling - EE UK

So, just been reading this:
http://phandroid.com/2015/05/22/off...android-5-1-1-with-wifi-calling-this-weekend/
Being on EE in the UK, who have just launched WiFi calling, I'm particularly interested in the above article and would love to see it on my device.
However, I'm just wondering what it would take to get it on my device and what the requirements are. Would be so handy.
Could I install the above 5.1.1 T Mobile version and simply change my APN?

Unlikely. I don't think the EE wifi will be the same as T-MO USA, even though EE is 50% T-MO UK.
Already have it. Side loaded it. Signed ota zips are available for download on the internet

That doesn't really help the OP. He was hoping the t-mobile wifi calling app would help him wifi call on a different provider.
Yes, I'd be interested to know this as well. It would also be nice to know if the new O2 HD Voice ( http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Welcome-News/HD-Voice-is-rolling-out-on-O2/td-p/879709 ) is working with LYZ28E. Not sure what network @toString is on.
yeah It would be cool if this could be used with sprints wifi calling.. but I doubt that's possible
