Does the error appear on the phone or your PC?
The ERROR shows up in my PC!
make sure that the debugging mode is working then when you connect your phone check the notification bar and slide it down then click USB connected and i hope it will work
you may also want to check if the latest drivers were installed correctly on your win machine - if not try to re-install from scratch
nothin happens to my phone.! When i connect my phone to the PC... i get nothin from the phone.... the phone just starts charging... thats it.!! nothin is displayed in the phone or the notification area or not even the debugging mode starts! As soon as i connect my phone to the USB, windows displays that the phone has malfunctioned.!! I even Tried re-installing WIN7 and also a factory reset to my Phone.! No use.!!
And i have installed the latest drivers in my PC....
My galaxy ACE works fine when i connect with the PC.! But not my I9000.!

Guys , all of a sudden Windows 7 has stopped detecting my Galaxy S . I tried reinstalling drivers / tried another cable . Tried usb debugging on/of multiple times , but to no avail . The phone is not even being detected in the Downloading mode via odin .
The phone is however working fine / charging with the cable as well . I am on Galnet MIUI twooey 3 . Can anyone help me out here ?
anyone ? i have been trying for 2 hours now . But to no avail
Check device manager to see if there are any issues with the driver.
Grab an ubuntu live CD, boot it, plug in your phone and run dmesg to see what it says.. You should see information about the device being plugged in (to at least rule out Win7 issues).
No issues found in device manager . I donot have the ubantu cd . Any other fix for this ?
tried formatting the internal sd card but no luck .Tried connecting the phone on a friends laptop , its not connecting their as well
is this problem related to the rom i am using ?
even after a factory reset , windows 7 is not detecting my phone . I need help
The most interesting thing is where ever i insert the usb cable in , windows its not even detecting anything at all . This is really weird , because just a day back everything was working fine .
Download the Ubuntu CD if you don't have it. Another option is to get terminal emulator from the market, then run the dmesg command right after you plug the phone in to see what the phone if doing.
Run the dmesg command via tha terminal app , connected the phone via usb and run the command . It is displaying a long list of things .
its displaying the same list of commands regardless if the usb is connected or not .
Can anyone help me out here ? I still cannot get the phone to be recognized by windows 7 . I have tried multiple original cables .
Only once it appeared in device manager saying unknown device , and further said that its some code 43 problem .
is this some hardware problem ?
I had this problem recently when I flashed cm7. What I did was put my phone in download mode THEN connect it to the pc and the drivers will be installed automatically. Let me know if this works.

Try to connect another PC and see if its detecting or not. If its detecting it is your windows problem. Download usb driver from samfirmware and see..
anyone ?????
I have tried connecting the phone on three different laptops . But none of them is detecting the phone .
I tried connecting it via tha download mode , but neither windows nor odin is detecting the phone ..
i have noticed one thing as well , the usb charging is going slow now as well .
Guys , can i install my jvo rom backup image over this galnet miui ? i am just afraid that if that doesn`t work , then i`ll be stuck with a non functioning phone , as odin is also not detecting the phone as well . And i`ll not be able to flash anything without it :S
suggestions ?
If you have the drivers uninstall them and reboot your pc. Then put your phone in download mode and connect it to the pc with the cable provided. The drivers should install automatically

buddy i just tried this one again . But windows is not detecting the phone in download mode as well
Does windows actually try and instal the drivers?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Nops . Sometimes it just detects the device and says that no driver found . And sometimes nothing happens .
This happens on all the laptops on which i tried . Shows there is something wrong with the phone . Is it the Rom ? or a hardware problem ? . Keep in mind that the phone charges just fine .
Hi to everybody!
I got used i9000M (Canadian) for my daughter (I have LG 3D so not really newbie to Android). It's in factory default state with 2.2 Android.
I tried to update system using Kies but have problem connecting my phone to PC. If I just boot phone up my Win 7 can see it (but not kies). I enable USB debug and Kies says something like "mode is not compatable". Should I untick USB debug and enabler KIES mode under Wireless?
But once I unplug it and plug back I get error 43:
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
I read and read and read... I'm ready to try odin but I don't know what exact ROM fits my SG... Also lots of stuff is connected to megaupload...
Thanks for any links in advance!
There is an option on Kies to reinstall drivers. I would suggest trying that. But above all, I would advise on rooting the phone and installing a custom ICS rom, like SlimICS. It will add tons of features and make your phone faster while conserving battery life. If you want to transfer files, just plug your phone in, and enable USB Mass Storage mode and you can just drag and drop files like you do with normal flash drives.

If you want to fix code 43, you should try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27205737&postcount=4571
IF you want to upgrade it by Odin , the Latest Gingerbread ROMS are here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881 ,choose the one for your region, all other resources that you may need can also be found at the My Android Collection link below

Thanks for reply! But here is the strange thing :
If I set USB debugging mode on the phone, my PC sees it with no problem and I see two devices in Device Manager under Portable (and they are identified as Samsung ...) But in this mode Kies doesn't connect - I get message like "unable to connect, switch phone to Kies mode ".
But once I turn debugging off, turn Kies mode on and connect the phone, my PC sees only one device and it's in USB group (in Device Manager). And now I get error 43...
So I think it's not the physical connector (otherwise I would not be able to connect at all) but rather old system - 2.2
I'll try to update it with Odin and let you guys know the result.

You should instal SAMSUNG USB Drivers for Mobile Phones from here
Also try different usb port or computer. Make sure to kill all Kies processes when you using Odin.
Thanks for help - still no luck
Guys, thanks for help! I really appreciate it!
I installed SlimICS - phone running nice. But my both computers (XP and Win7) give me errors...
Funny part is - Odin works perfectly and I can see my phone in Device Manager with no problem!
Anyway, it's not REALLY big problem, rather inconvenience.
I don't know if it matters, but I also noticed that my AC charger for LG doesn't charge i9000. Weird? Do they have different pinout?
Thanks again.
It's me again
Just for fun connected the phone to old Toshiba laptop at work with win XP, without installing any Samsung drivers and ... And Toshiba recognized phone and showed me two drives - internal and SD!!!
My home computers still giving me grief... Both systems (xp and wib7) stubbornly don't want to install drivers! They put some Microsoft driver from 2007...
I'll keep fighting (installed Kies several times, just drivers - couple versions...)

If the phone is powered off and i plug it in it starts directly into a boot loop, and i get 'usb device not recognised'
the only way to shut the phone off is to pull the battery
thanks
Ok when you are in a bootloop, the computer can not recognize the phone. This is only possible in the normal operation mode or on the download mode.
Did you ever try to come into download mode without the USB cable connected?
I mad a jig and can use it to get into download mode, but still get 'usb device notrecognized'
Thanks
Have you tried using another computer or reinstall Windows 7 to your computer when connecting? While Windows 8 should support 95-99% of devices with old derives, the legacy support is never perfect with new OS.

Hi guys,
First of all My English isn't good looking
A friend think I can help, and I think you guys can help me.
The device (Samsung SGH-T849 T-Mobile) was rooted previously,
(I think something went wrong) It doesn't have CWM it has Samsung
recovery menu. Also has Original ROM (Froyo)
This Tab isn't recognized by any PC (using Odin, Kies, etc, etc) on recovery mode or
as Mass Storage, I'm using Original cable.
The Tab don't show Charging status, but If I turn it Off and leave it connect it,
all night long It charge and I know it because when you turn it On next day
it shows full battery status.
We want this device to install CWM and Cyanogen Mod ROM.
I made it before on my own Tab using this
GREAT FORUM HELP.
Any help to achieve that ?
From microSD, Bluetooth, WiFi or any other method ?
Thanks in Advance.
To do all that you need Odin to recognise it.
Can you try in another computer?
There is no need to install Kies for that.
You can download this driver (for 32 bit windows)
http://code.google.com/p/insanity/downloads/detail?name=SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_x86.exe
For all its worth, try installing this driver in your current computer and see if Odin detects it in download mode.
You need to be in download mode.
